It is a super clean and beautiful facility. It passed the "smell" test hands down. [Removed] and her staff were gracious and welcoming to everyone in our family. There were various activities going on as we toured and there was a delicious smell in the air the whole time. Every question and concern was answered with genuine care. It looks like it will be the perfect fit for our needs when the time comes.

Very nice place

They have great activities for the residents. Residents get 3 meals plus snacks throughout the day. The new Executive Director has made a positive impact on this facility. She is really making a difference!

The Heritage at Twin Creeks

With only a few residents to care for so far, this facility is excellent. They are attentive to the residents and my parents love the food. The apartments are big and tons of closet space. I like that they have a kitchenette without a stove. A microwave is all they ever need. The only thing I would change is the communications. I don't know when the podiatrist or other doctors are coming, and I would like to know so I can be there.

Autumn Leaves-Clear Lake

The staff at Autumn Leaves-Clear Lake is attentive and professional. Our mother recently ran fever and appeared lethargic. A caregiver called with this information, and our mom was developing a life-threatening illness that was offset by prompt attention from a caregiver. We can never thank them enough! The staff also engages them in activities that are instructional and entertaining (ex. trivia games, Bingo, arts and crafts, etc.). The Activities Director has even created a Booster Club, and their suggestion of a Fourth of July parade in-house was well received. Local students from a PAL organization attended, and they served ice cream floats! The residents can be trying, but the caretakers are also professional and gentle. They have a tough job, are definitely underpaid, and provide a blessing to the families that have family members in Autumn Leaves-Clear Lake.

It is relatively new and clean.

I'm not sure about the variety of things going on, perhaps there could be more. It is relatively new and clean. When we went there Jackie was really personable and was able to answer all the questions we had.

Great place for your loved one.

The Staff is always smiling and having fun with the residents. I was able to find a place for Dad near my home. He loves his new home here and I feel I made the best chioce for his care here. I enjoy the programs they provide and sit in weekly!

Our Familes' Experience

This facility is pretty good! I'm not sure about activities, and I think the food is pretty good. If I had one comment, it's that mom is in the TV room almost every time I come. I don't see her doing many activities. The staff is generally ok, but the weekend staff is not as good as the M-F staff. Generally, more aloof and not as friendly. This place is pretty good, but has some room for improvement.

Regarding loved ones in memory care, staff is caring. I suggest your loved ones personal property be labeled as things can disappear. I'm new to the memory care and it is very different from assisted living.

Parkside Experience

Experience has been very good. My brother has not been 'cooperative' though, (refuses to shave, shower, change his clothes, or interact with any other residents) but the staff has worked with me as best as they can. Staff has handled all this well. They understand that he could 'walk out' at any time and are doing their best to avoid this from happening Facility is fine. Location great. Pro activity is only area they could improve on. If you ask/remind... it gets done but I wish they weren't stretched as thin.

Recommended Memorycare

The staff is more caring and empathetic. The facilities seem better cared for. The attendants are more attentive. The day workers get involved in helping shift staff with meals and activities so the effective staff/patient ratio is higher. Initially, I felt the food was better but that aspect has improved to equal or better.

Food always looked wonderful. The facility was clean. The apartments were plenty big. The response to the call button was a little slow at times. The directors were helpful, and the staff was pleasant and caring.

The Heritage of Clearlake

1. We have been satisfied with his care. As expected some staff are better than others. My greatest annoyance is with laundry. Even though I have everything labeled, we often find clothes and linens that are not his and some of his have disappeared. In the big picture, it is something we can live with. 2. Everything is very clean. His room is cleaned daily. 3. Administrative staff is great. Listens and is very attentive to our concerns. 4. Quality of care mostly good, at times they appear short staffed. Rating: 4 6. Food: Basic home cooking. Appears fresh and [name removed] finds it acceptable. Rating: 3 7. Activities - Appropriate for the residents considering most of them are pretty far along the dementia scale. Rating: 4 8. Value for the money: 5.

Parkside Assisted Living and Memory Cottage review

They allowed a man to try to enter every room. He had tools. He entered my Mom's room twice and hit her. She might have left the lock in the open position. We were told they already had 3 other guests transfer to Truewood. Often there was no one to let us out. The employees would often disappear or be on their phones? For that money, we expect better care. Remind people that with dementia they might leave their door unlocked accidentally. The staff all knew he was trying every door. They told me, it is just his dementia. My Mom is not on Medicaid. Her money needs to be spent wisely.
