Beautiful home for memory care

Debbie at Elmcroft was amazing, helping us move dad in just four days!! We had to move him due to neglect and I was able to help with his move before I had to leave to go back home to California. The facility is clean, homey, well staffed with positive, truly loving people that treated dad like family from the moment he arrived. He felt right at home and is acting calm and friendly. I can now sleep at night not worrying about daddy. ,

It's excellent, I'm very happy with it.

It's excellent, I'm very happy with it. I called about ten minutes ago, and I asked if she was in the living room if they could put her on the phone, and they make sure to go down the hall and bring her out and get her, so that we can talk. They are so accommodating and really nice. Just the atmosphere and the cleanliness and the way everyone is treated is great. I really like the way it's set up. When I looked at other places they were less expensive, but there were extra charges for everything, and here everything is included. The size is nice it's small, and beautiful. They have some nice outdoor patio areas, that helps the residents not feel cooped up.

We would rate this community very high! They have a friendly staff. The community is very clean, very friendly. There is plenty of parking. We came between meals, so they were just setting out the lunch settings, but it looked nice. We went with another community because of location, but this one seemed very nice.

My parents moved in on November 26. ...

My parents moved in on November 26. It was a rainy, windy, cold day. The maintenance person helped my husband and son move in and set up the furniture through a back door closest to their room. While we were doing this, the people who work there took Mom, Dad, and Molly (the dog) and introduced them to the residence who were out in the common living area. During that first week there were some problems concerning care for the dog. It seems that they had not had this situation before where the residences could not remember to care for the dog. Keeping the dog with my parents was a definite must for us to even consider the facility. The management dealt with the internal problems and the dog is being well cared for. Again, not having this situation before, there was one day when The caregiver left the dog out in the courtyard while she attended to other things and the dog got out. You can imagine how my parents were at this point. I sat with them through the morning while the staff was looking for the dog. I believe they even called some of the staff who were not on duty that day to come and help look for the dog. They searched the neighborhood and talked with anyone who was out. After searching for a good while, the manager came back in and talked with my parents to try to reassure them that the dog was probably safe with someone who found her. Then the manager used a picture of the dog from my phone and printed out fliers to put out all over the neighborhood. They still kept staff out walking around the area and on one of their passes a lady came out with one of the fliers and said she had that dog. The staff picked her up and brought her for my parents to see before they bathed her. It was a very tense few hours, but in reality they did exactly what needed to be done to find the dog. This too was a learning experience in that they discovered that the fence around the courtyard has opening large enough for a small dog to get through. There have been things my parents don't like, but any change is difficult for them. There is enough staff to care for the residence and assist them with whatever they need. The staff all seem to enjoy and are patient with the residence. They have many activities for people with memory problems and encourage the residence to go to them. Overall, I don't think there is a better place for my parents where they are very well cared for and can keep their dog.

Wonderful Family Environment

They are absolutely fabulous. My friend has been there now about 3 months and she's never ever looked better. It's just such a family environment. The regional office staff is there on a regular basis. You know everyone and everyone knows you. If there is a problem or concern I get a phone call immediately. I'm included in all care planning and the medication changes. They helped us find a doctor, find a dentist. I just can't say enough about them and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a place for a loved one.

It was nice and they were doing activities when we were there. They were all friendly and the whole palce was really nice. We needed to stay in the clear lake area and this one wasn't as close for my step daughter. It would have been been the one that they would have gone to if it was closer. They only had 2 beds open when we looked, she would have gotten in so that wouldn't have been a problem.

Happier environment, but hoping care will improve

There are a lot of things I like about it but there are a lot of things that really really need improvement. The best thing about it I think is the apartment, the bedroom is big and roomy, it's easy to get a wheelchair in and out of the bathroom and it's newly renovated. Of all the places we looked at, this had the nicest apartment we saw. The care they're getting could be a lot better. One thing that happens when you talk to them is they'll say "Absolutely, no problem" and then nothing happens. I think part of the problem is this place has been taken over, there aren't a lot of residents and as a result they don't have enough staff. They aren't cleaning their apartment like I thought they were supposed to and according to my mother they aren't bathing my dad twice a week but I can't really be sure because she's a little out of it and you can't be 100% sure of what they're saying. The food could be a lot better, its edible, but it's not particularly good. One of the reasons we put our parents here was they allow smoking out on their courtyard where my mother can go out anytime she wants. We don't want to move them because it would be unsettling for them, I'm oping over time they'll get more staff and things will improve.

This one was very impressive. Just perfect. I was very impressed with the interaction between the residents and staff. Relationships have been built. Activities were ongoing. It looks like it is truly setup for Alzheimers care. Little disappointed in room size but probably correct for the need. More expensive than I was hoping for but quality of this place reflects the price. Love it. By far, my favorite.

Your search is over

Exhausted after touring several facilities, I turned to "A Place for Mom" for assistance. They responded immediately with options that matched Mom's living requirements. Literally seconds into the tour of Elmcroft of Quail Springs (Memory Care Wing), we knew this was Mother's new home. This small, secured area is designed to make every resident feel safe and "at home" and is well-staffed with caregivers who really care. No matter what time of day we choose to visit, Mother is always clean, groomed well, and either with a staff member or in the group livingroom participating in activities. Take a tour and your search will be over, too.

Overall recommend Heritage at Twin Creeks

These ratings on how they have been treating mom and myself when I'm there. The staff now is pretty good. They treat mom like she is their mom and the only issue is they have gotten caregivers who don't have experience and leave after a month or so and don't like to be told what to do. My issue is with [name removed] and the director turn over (third director in 2+ yrs). [name removed] is awesome and so is the hospice care.

What really sold us right away were the rooms, they were better then the other communities we had looked at and we were able to get a two-bedroom. They do a good job with the activities they seem to really offer a lot for the residents.

Best choice ever

We chose The Heritage at Twin Creeks because it was closer to family and when we interviewed and toured the facility, it just seemed that the staff to resident ratio was great. When we walked in there was at least 5 caregivers in sight. My dad actually has a caregiver assigned to him, so he always has that personalized care. The room sizes here are very good, he was able to be in a private room so it was perfect. The staff was extremely nice, they spoiled my dad. When he passed away they were shaken by it, so they truly invested themselves in him. We could not have made a better choice and I would absolutely recommend.

We Recommend The Ivy for your loved ones

I cannot say enough good things about this facility . My sister has been a resident in assisted living since August 2019 .. To say it was easy for her to leave her home is impossible.. But the care and love she is receiving is so wonderful .. The staff from the administration to the dining room help are great .. we have come to know all of them and feel they are a part of our family .. [Name removed] is doing so good under their care and their love for her .. and her love for them grows stronger each day !! She realizes the challenges they face each day !! We had our concerns when there was a change in owners .. but I can honestly say the transition has been remarkable.. To have so many individuals in one place who are there for the residents is awesome .. Thank you to all of the staff for your dedication in keeping the residents safe during this pandemic .. we know what you have been through to obtain their safety .. you are appreciated more than you will ever know !! God Bless you all !!

My husband has been and is still being cared for in the best way. The caregivers and staff treat him with respect and you can tell that they really care. In this most difficult time they have not changed their treatment of him. I don't worry about his care, even though I don't get to visit with him as much as I would like to. The court yard visits have been nice and they will have to do until we are able to come in to visit with him. Everyone is very pleasant and understanding in these troubled times and that means a lot to myself and family. Thank you to the staff and caregivers.

It is a super clean and beautiful facility. It passed the "smell" test hands down. [Removed] and her staff were gracious and welcoming to everyone in our family. There were various activities going on as we toured and there was a delicious smell in the air the whole time. Every question and concern was answered with genuine care. It looks like it will be the perfect fit for our needs when the time comes.
