Sunrise of North Hill's appearance is good, but the quality of service is poor. And the experience my loved one had was horrific. The care was not good. The facility's common areas were clean, but they did not keep her room clean. There was food on her floor and in her bed. The director basically blamed all issues on my loved one, who has dementia. The sales director was pretty friendly when signing us up, and some of the staff members did a good job, but others did not. The food was okay. I did not see any activities taking place. It was extremely expensive. They advertise that they have memory care, but the staff is not trained in memory care and do not know how to handle people with dementia. I observed them arguing with my mother when trying to get her to do something, which anybody knows does not work with someone with dementia.

When we met with the staff during the initial appointment, they were attentive, responsive, and offered to help us find our footing as we moved forward (we didn't have any experience with early onset Alzheimer's). After move-in however, we didn't get the support for working with finances, long-term care, or setting up meetings/visits with my parent. Be extremely careful they don't sell you on something that they cannot/will not support.

This is a place that nickels and dimes you for every service, raising your bill without discussion with the client. You only get what you pay for and pay you will. A delicious-sounding menu masks low quality ingredients mixed with subpar meals. There is little to do here. Staff is uneven with some very gentle staff and some of the most heartless "caregivers" who will not go the extra mile. No complaints about the grounds and care of the facility. If only those on the inside took as good care of the residents.

Almost died here. Negative management. Terrible food no reliable heating. No maintance, no 24 hr contact fr help. Avoid at all cost

This community would not give us the time of day. We were exhausted and we were under time constraints. I kind of felt profiled at this community. It was lovely walking in but we had to wait for 10 mins to get into the community. This community also had a smell to it that was not nice.

Significant price increase received from Sunrise of Frisco for 2022. Three years ago, our yearly cost was [price removed], and now [price removed]. No follow-up to ask if we could manage the increase and my letter to corporate was unanswered. We also had concerns on staffing and care and decided to look at several facilities in the area. We have now moved. This decision was difficult, the additional confusion of the change was heartbreaking, and I would not wish for anyone to go through this. The new facility is making us feel at home, we are very pleased with the experienced care team, a [price removed] per year savings, and a cap on future cost.

They do not give the care that they say that they do, we were very unhappy with our experience at Sunrise on Providence.

I would tell others that this is strictly for the memory care part of the facility. I would also say that unfortunately due to my own medical issues I was unable to visit myself, so this is based off of my caretakers information that she gave me and phone interactions. I felt strongly enough that we moved him to another facility. I was very disappointed.

It was not a good experience. They accepted my mom after looking at her medical history and then they told us that they could not handle her. She ended up getting kicked out and they are taking no responsibility for it. They are still trying to charge me even for the days that she was not there. The whole thing was not handled well at all by the facility and I would not recommend them to others. It was a nightmare.

Horrible hellhole. If you hate someone...stick them in this facility. Absolute incompetent nursing team. Leaders are lazy. Leaders...extremely lazy and mean as hell. I found out they HATE ANYTHING you have to say or suggest regarding your loved one. I hope CEO as well as the Raleigh North Hills E.D....SEE THIS REVIEW. This place will suck your finances dry....way overpriced!!!!! Very unethical business practices. Accountant is a huge joke....cant get anything right. We got my loved one THE HELL OUT OF THERE!!!!!!! What a relief to get that monkey of a [word removed] business off my back

We were not impressed with our tour. The building needed some TLC and the staff members were not very friendly.

We were very unhappy with our tour at Sunrise of Holbrook. When we walked in, the residents who lived there were yelling at us telling us to not move in here. The facility was not clean and the staff members were not very helpful. It was a bad experience.

They say a lot of nice things before you move in. After you move in, they do not have adequate, trained staff. They are not around. They do not care. [Name removed] does fabulous with the activities schedule. But the "care" is worse than bad. My father is still recovering from the horrible care he received while in their care. I would say he aged 20 years while in their care for less than 3 months. Moreover, my complaint list is too long to fit in any provided box.

I feel what we experienced was a bait and switch. When we moved my mom into the "community," we were told that we would be kept informed, which we were not. We were also told that "we are not quick to medicate," and in less than a month, my mom was on a medication list that was 3 pages long. We could not get any information on why my mom was taken to the hospital from there. They would not give my father the list of medications she was on when she arrived at the hospital. We could not get any information about the status of any medical exams. And, we also could not get the results of a psychiatric evaluation they they themselves initiated. And they continuously violated my father's POA agreement, which legally obligates them to keep him informed. My mom did in fact decline after moving in there. When she moved in, she was able to walk, go to the bathroom by herself, feed herself, take a shower. And in less than a month, she was unable to walk and now is unable to stand. In less than a month, they all of a sudden told us that she needed two-person care. She did not thrive there as we were promised. She did in fact decline.

Our experience was awful and our mother could have died. We were fortunate that the ER doctors saved her life and, after many weeks of rehab, she was able to move to an excellent residence center where she has thrived for over 3 years. This was being investigated but the key management staff suddenly departed Sunrise. One would hope that they have improved since our terrible experience.

Please don't waste your time at this facility. It may look nice on the surface but, underneath it is just not a good place at all. I was quoted one price and it was in my Mother's price range but, after I spent hours filling out and uploading tons of requested move in paperwork, the old "bait and switch" routine was pulled. At the 11th hour they jacked the price up from [rate removed] rate for a studio apt to [rate removed] [name removed] didn't even have the decency to at least make a counter offer. It was well, if you don't accept it at this price, you can pick up your [fee removed] deposit. It's really disgusting that they know that when you go there you obviously have a loved one who needs care and they make sure to take advantage of you and your loved ones vulnerabilities. I want to say more but what would be the point. The kind of people who would treat the elderly so shabbily would never understand why what they did was so abhorrent.

Check negative reviews...DO NOT GO HERE!!! RUDENESS ABOUNDS. Poor care and record keeping..... office managers way of explaining anything is very poor. Prices go up continually for substandard care. EXEC. Dir. Is impossible to talk to. Her way or no way. Avoid SNH at all cost.

Don't go there. It was a really bad experience. The very first night she was there, she fell and nobody reported it. And things got worse from there. She has long term care insurance, and I had to go to Sunrise in person 5 times to get them to send the information to the insurance company so we could get reimbursed. They kept telling me they sent it, but they never did. I could go on and on about the bad things we experienced there.

We had a bad expedience with Brighton Gardens. The tour was fine and we got to the nursing assessment and I do not think it was handled well. They did not seem to be mindful of my mother and what she was going through. I did not feel it was a good fit and then the sales person hounded me after I told them it was not going to work out demanding for an explanation.

It was a very disappointing experience. Their assurances were that everything would be fine because "this is what we do." And that turned out not to be the case at all. They were friendly enough to sign us up. But in the end, it was not a very nice experience.
