The overall rating would be a 0. I came extremely close to contacting WBRZ channel 2. To put my family through Hell was wrong. All we wanted to do was to make my wife's mom happy for the days she had remaining.

This facility is a 0. Do not recommend Sunrise of Vienna. It overpromised and underdelivered. The facility claimed to be an assisted living community with one registered nurse but did nothing more than hand out pills. It advertised skilled nursing care but unable to care for feeding and breathing tubes. My father had a biliary tube installed and was forced to leave within 10 days of moving in. We lost over $[fee removed] and are now scrambling to find another residence. Before his health issues, we faced constant difficulties with room and laundry cleanup, and setting up TV and internet took multiple requests and more time than expected. Although the facility is beautiful, it is not suitable for those seeking actual care for their loved ones. I am very disappointed. We lost money, and our family experienced unnecessary stress due to poor service.

Mom was only there a week. She did not get the care she needed. They expected Hospice to do all the work. I had to move her so she would get the care that was not provided at Sunrise. The CNA's don't do the job they are supposed to do. Mom was dying, and they didn't help her.

Mom has been a resident there since [date removed]; paying $[fee removed]/month. 1/ The food there is despicable; Wouldn’t feed it to a dog. 2/ Her room always smells like [profanity removed]; they don’t clean the toilets? 3/ She is 95 and overweight.; needs help cleaning herself after using the toilet. She says they never help her. Constantly has feces on her backside. 4/ Mom has a button for service around her neck. She states they mostly ignore her. 5/ Mom had an incident with a chair at the facility which resulted in a huge black and blue from her knee down to her ankle. She was in a lot of pain and they would not help her. I ended up taking her to the ER myself. 5/ They have a nurse working there by the name of [name removed]. She should be fired immediately. She gives out copies of residents’ personal information … at her own discretion. I was told she works as a floater? She should be floated out the front door. I wouldn’t recommend anybody putting their loved one in this facility.

Not a great place. All the seniors in memory care are locked out of their rooms during the day. No one ever mentioned that to us. Also they're understaffed. Staff they have seems low on patience. I can only speak for memory care

My partner was there for a trial one month stay in the memory care unit. After two weeks there he developed pneumonia and MRSA. After treatment fore one week in the hospital. I brought him home. Needless to say, I was charged for the whole month.

I also forgot to mention that they did not have a Parkinson's Disease specialist. They did not specialize in Parkinson's Disease. They didn't have a gym, and they didn't have a doctor. All of the things that [name removed]stated, which were the reasons why I chose them were a lie. Not lie to the potential client. [name removed]told me that they specialized in Parkinson's Disease and a lot of their patients had seen great strides, which is the reason why I chose them. She also told me they had a gym where they did physical therapy, which was a lie, and she also told me that they had a doctor who turned out to be a PA Not a physician. Who refused to see my father because he hadn't been registered to see them even though his medicine was mixed up. I didn't know they needed to be registered to see the Dr because [name removed] told me they see all the patients every week. She didn't tell me that they needed to be registered on a list. So that was a lie. Just disgusting.

The staff was rude for the most part. Cleanliness was only good in the lobby area. Activities were fine. Administrative staff was really bad . Food was good. Value for the money was horrible. I'm not allowed back to see my friends.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

We are very disappointed with Sunrise Bloomingdale. While the staff is friendly, the Dementia care is insufficient. Routine medication care was not delivered as promised. We chose Sunrise because they assured us they would provide dementia care to our father. After 8 weeks, he still hasn’t been provided a geriatric psychiatrist to properly medicate his condition or placed on the memory care floor . We now have to seek outside providers for his care during which we still are paying Sunrise.

Smells like urine , people stink, and looks like a drabby place inside. People’s clothes are filthy and they sit doing nothing. Wasn’t too impressed by a room called “ Activity Room “. Looked like a hurricane rolled through; and it smelled like cigarettes, yuck! Looked at a paper that listed activities on it; bingo and a chaplain was thee only things ….. pathetic. Happy I put my Dad somewhere else; this place is crap.

I was told over and over that they could handle my husband even though they knew he had been aggressive towards others. I was shocked, when they THREW HIM OUt after 6 days without a word to me of what happened. And the worst of it, they never called me. I found out just by visiting that he wasn't there.. there is no excuse for what they did. There are no words from this facility that would justify their actions.

The website says a one bedroom is $[removed]. After my tour, was told the price would be $[removed]. Entry fee is $[removed]. The company that owns this place needs to be investigated for deliberately advertising false prices. Seniors don't have time to waste.

I am in a room on the second floor in the Oak Building for rehab. I have never been so disappointed or upset by a situation. I arrived 3 day ago. The room is full of chipped, door handles/knobs missing. The wall pain is chipped. The bathroom smells like a sewer. Last night there were mice coming from the heating unit scampering the floor. I left a phone message and spoke to a night staff member who told me mice were all over this floor. It is now 2:30 and no one has contacted me. I left 2 more phone messages. Bottom line the Quadrangle is a horrible place to be for rehab.

The memory care is set up for failure. There are too many residents to maintain a calm environment. Nursing staff is a major issue and there is no continuity of care. I do not recommend - I moved mom out after 1 year & 3 hospitalizations. ( 1 due to not giving mom her medications for Alzheimer's. The food needs to be geared more towards freshness which is helpful for dementia. The bottom line - this place is all about the bottom line. (Not about the residents )

Avoid Sunrise at Silas Burke House. If your loved one is fully independent, this facility might work—but if they need any extra care, do not send them here. There’s no real care plan, staff turnover is constant, and communication is terrible. Once they decided to terminate our loved one’s residency, all contact from the Executive Director and the care team stopped. Emails and phone calls went unanswered, and we were left unsure whether she was even being properly cared for during her final 30 days. When we came to move her out, no one acknowledged us—staff were in a meeting, and not a single person came to say anything. It was cold and deeply unprofessional. This should have been a place of support, but instead, we were met with silence, avoidance, and ultimately, an eviction notice. I regret not listening to earlier reviews. Sunrise is not equipped to handle residents with changing needs and will not work with families to help. Look elsewhere.

This is definitely not the place for someone bedridden! The night nurse is the worst and is responsible for all medication for the entire facility. She is mean and unresponsive. They need more people at night. The administrative staff is not responsive or helpful when there are issues.

Don't try to just sell a bed. Truly understand what condition a person is in before accepting them. Have a seven day out in case it doesn't work out and give people their huge deposits back.

I think they need to get rid of the staff and rehire competent people to work there at Sunrise. My experience was dealing with a very unprofessional staff. There are too young and have to many personal problems to care for the residents there. Housekeeping was terrible. I had to try and keep my husbands room cleaned and sanitized myself. The person in charge of memory care would not always be truthful about situations that would accrue with memory care. I never came in contact with the executive there at Sunrise. She was always in her office behind closed doors. That's just a few of the specifics. I paid too much money for my husbands care that he did not receive.

Make sure you know what floor they will put resident on. Be sure you understand exactly what medical things they will do Bandaids. Pills provided by family.
