Rushed into a contract, poor communication - was not a good fit. Be sure to take their time and ignore anyone pressuring them to sign immediately - these situations are usually stressful enough to get into something that's not a good fit with poor communication regarding care and finance processing creates a worse situation later.

Sorely needs a Refresh-- the furniture, the color scheme ( browns- felt depressing) and we did not appreciate the facility dog. It was like we toured someone's dated home. The rooms nor the common spaces were something our family would pay for. My mom would be very upset with this enviroment.

I would give them minus 10. They lie about the service they provide you. They charge you without providing any services. When I moved him to Sunrise, I was informed that an apartment there would be $[removed] a month and would include basic care, like helping in a shower or getting ready for the day. They informed me that since he came over from a rehab center and is still weak and needs assistance with the bathroom and taking a shower, he will be put on the Assisted Living Plus, Plus plan. It was an extra $[removed] a day. It would be re-evaluated every month and removed when he was able to do things on his own and that someone was assigned to him until then. He was now being billed $[removed] a month, Instead of the $[removed] a month plus $[removed] a day for his medications. My father was receiving PT and OT from Fox Physical Rehabilitation. In June, they informed the director [name removed] that my father was independent and did not need the Plus Plus any longer. It went in one ear and out the other.

Our overall experience has been poor. Staff - average. Activities - good. Food - good. Apartment size - good. Mom has been in memory care and has been almost totally ignored. Not worked with and left on her own. She had to make a trip to the hospital and came back to her room to find out she was robbed.

[name removed]talked about how great the facility was, and her family issues, but declined on showing us the facility. Maybe it was the fact that we thought the Memory center was too expensive, but how could we judge without seeing where my wife would be living for the rest of her life!! She seemed to focus on er experiences rather than the physical plant How could we just value if we couldn’t see anything other than [name removed] office

I removed my husband from Brighton Gardens after 6 days because he wasn't safe there. None of the promises that were made to us were kept. It took forever for anyone to answer the call bell and my husband fell and broke a rib. I have the utmost respect for people in health care because I know what a difficult field this is to work in. I took care of my wonderful husband for 13 years with Parkinson's. My husband and I made the difficult decision to place him in an assisted living facility so he would have better care because, as a caregiver, I needed to take good care of myself. I went every day and I could see he wasn't getting the proper care. Some of the aides were nice but my husband said some of them were very rough with him. He is such a nice man and not the type to give anyone a hard time. I think the staff needs to take a good hard look at themselves when they are promising things that were never delivered.

I will start by saying sunrise is a good place if you're fully functional or comatose anything that falls in between they cannot handle. I felt the nurse really needed to retire. She was very easily rattled. I also felt the doctor was very overwhelmed. Maybe there were just too many patients

Beware if higher level of care is needed. Even though higher level of care is available (and was charged and paid for) it really is not their wheelhouse. It was more like assisted existing (and short on compassion, understanding, grace; even felt abusive) vs. assisted living.

My mom stayed there on a respite stay and left early. They were supposed to refund us part of the payment that was made for "care" and we still have not received a refund. She was there in September. You should not refer people to this ripoff place!

When I arrived I was told they had double booked the tour. I was reassured by [name removed] that he would be able to give us our tour. It was obvious he was trying to juggle the 2 appointments but he was doing a very poor job of it. He was very unprepared for us and obviously rushing when talking to us. He left the room several times and we could see him talking to his other tour group through the door way. As a potential customer, I could only think that if this facility could not handle their appointments, how could I trust them to handle my mother's care? I understand that mistakes happen but the way that [name removed] handled it was very rude, unprofessional and off putting to me. We walked out. 10 minutes after we left Sunrise, [name removed] sent me a text message. I will quote what he wrote: "Hi [name removed]-it's [name removed] from Sunrise. So sorry about keeping you waiting and the double booked 10:30 tours. Hang in there & sorry again." "Hang in there"? Insensitive and unprofessional. Obviously don't want my business

- 1/2 complex is under construction so a bit disheveled and you can only see the old section of resident rooms. You can see a couple areas in renovated section. - old section is very outdated, worn, dark, smelly and uninviting - rooms visited were very tiny, old/outdated, odd odors and the shower is, as we were told a fiberglass unit you would find in a camper. A chair was inside the shower unit-the resident would have to be showered by a staff member!! It is a step up into the chair, feet would dangle, no way to be self-showering and the curtain would basically be in the resident’s lap AND the water would drip onto the floor! Safety hazard and lack of self reliance especially if in a wheelchair! - there appeared to be a hospital style meal cart which we did not expect - hallways were very narrow..wheelchair dependent residents could only travel one at a time I would not bring my mom to this facility..I left and cried all the way home.

My uncle was there from[date removed] to the last week of September. He fell 7 times, and went to the ER for one where he had a hash in his head. Moved him back home not even an entire month. Horrible. He was seated for meals alone at his table, the staff could have moved his room to a vacant unit right across from the nurses station, but didn't, even though he was at risk for falls.

The move in had room with food in the fridge and toothpaste on the sink. Room hadn't been cleaned. Multiple instances of them not having two people helping mom despite that being the contracted requirment. Multiple instances of 20+ min response time on mom pushing button to request assistance. Escalation to management and they weren't able to see the analytics of response time. Finally got the GM to admit that they had these multiple issues. We moved mom out before the end of the first month and gave up the money paid to move her to Brandywine. They experience there is 10x better. If we could give lower scores to sunrise, we would give them.

I would give it a 0 if that were an option. I would simply state that I strongly discourage people consider this place until staffing and service levels improve.

Food was inconsistent and not very good. Staff was nice and activities OK. We had issues with the administration staff. After a hospitalization they made it impossible for my wife to stay there due to additional financial requirements they only informed us the day before she was discharged. The way they handled was unprofessional and unethical. Their corporate office (c-level person) said there actions were not consistent with company policy but I had moved my wife to [community removed] already. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The facility was clean. Staff members friendly but distance. I never checked into the facility so I have no idea about the quality of care. The administration office palmed me off on a person in another state. I lost my deposit and an admin fee. I never moved in because the unit was never ready. In the meantime, my husband passed away. I noticed them the day after he passes and told Them my circumstances had changed. As far as the food, my husband and I had lunch while touring and it tasted like food you would get in a school cafeteria.

Don't bother! Looks good initially, but they don't live up to their reputation. And it's costly

They are not equipped to handle patients with slight memory issues that for whatever reason aren't able to press the buttons for assistance. They are short staffed with aides- but claim they are fully staffed. So it can take over 20-30 minutes to get someone to help the client get to the bathroom. They charge extra if the client wants to take their meals in their room after certain number of requests. Honestly for anyone looking into an ALF I would recommend trying a week of respite care if they offer it. Many places do.

There have been ongoing concerns with how meals are handled. Often left waiting to be served, sometimes not receiving food until the dining room is nearly closed and cleanup has already started. At that point, staff usually return to the kitchen and bring out whatever is still available. Attempts have been made to address this, but it's been difficult to reach anyone directly. After submitting a review a few weeks ago, there was a call from a new director who mentioned efforts were underway to improve the situation. Unfortunately, not much has changed. Meal service remains the primary issue. There's hesitation to speak up directly, but the frustration is shared regularly

The absolute worst medical rehabilitation facility that my mother has stayed in. One front desk person refused to give me the phone number to the landline in her room saying that was private personal patient information! As I was out of state at the time, I then asked if someone could call me back to confirm that my mother was alive and no one ever did. Very complicated forms for requesting items the patients want from complicated daily menus, which my mother didn't understand and once for a meal they provided her with some lettuce and a small dessert stating well that's what she had requested on the form; nobody there cares about the patients’ diets. My mother was supposed to be there to gain weight and instead they confirmed that she had lost weight since her arrival. They didn't give the form to request her medical records to her until the 30th day she had been there, the day of her discharge; [name removed] , a supervisor, tried to pressure me into signing a form that I had received
