Sunrise Senior Living

It's a lovely place but it didn't work out well for us, and I was a little disappointed. In my opinion they didn't do enough to integrate her into the program and help her get to know people. It's a beautiful facility, but I was very disappointed. They didn't tell us about a dress code but we have seen them turn people away from the dining room for showing up in jeans. They were good about the maintenance problems. They had plenty to do, but when she went to the activities director and asked to get involved in bridge, I don't feel like they worked very hard to help get her involved. It was a very nice looking facility and it was near my office, and the one thing we took into consideration was the proximity of the room to the elevator. A Place For Mom was wonderful and I have recommended the service to other people, and they are a wonderful resource, and the woman that helped me, Alexia Landis, was wonderful.

This place looked fine, however my main concern was that they did not have a nurse on staff all the time. Residents often had to be sent out to other locations for certain care needs.

Narrow hallways. Decorated like a lodge. Rooms very small. Kitchenette. Food did not look appetizing. Ruthie was willing to answer questions and was friendly. Out of price range and several additional costs.

Their largest room was not big enough for me, but I liked it anyway. It had a lot of windows and I liked that idea. It's a pretty building, I think it must be pretty new. They have these circular rooms. But I have since talked to several people and they say sunrise doesn't compare to where I am now.

This is a very pleasant and nice looking community, and the staff seem friendly, but we've got some concerns regarding the care my father is receiving. We feel like he is not receiving nearly as much attention as the location he was in previously, which was not supposed to be as specialized as Sunrise. We paid for the highest level of care at Sunrise, but it didn't seem like he was receiving much individual attention, and shortly after he moved in he suffered a fall. The extra cost does not seem to have translated into better care, and we're not sure we'll be moving him back here after he is out of rehab.

The staff here were very friendly, but otherwise it was not particularly impressive compared to the others that we toured. It looked fine, but we saw others we liked much more.

It was more hospital like than the one we chose. and more expensive. More assisted living than what we needed. There were a lot more wheelchairs parked around.

Mom did a brief rehab stay here, and the care they provided was fine. They also had assisted living available, and we considered keeping her on as assisted living. After touring other locations we decided there were better options elsewhere for permanent solutions, and went with another community for that.

Would be a good place for s short respite stay, but not to live. It is a very small property with no grounds for the residents. Parking is extremely limited for visitors.

My father is there. He is just in a cranky mood, but he does complain about the food quite a bit, that it is of poor quality. He participates in a few of the activities. I think that it is an attractive. There's an upscale feel to everything. Out of all of the communities that I visited, I thought that they would be the best.

I was really turned off by the person who talked to us. She indicated that they were there because they just loved old people and loved the work but she didn't ask what our needs were. It was just about how great they were. We got sort of got turned off by that but I know other people were pleased with them. They were more expensive too. They said they started at $5600 and then they added for care.

Starts at $3780; near Baker Park; activities not very inspiring..yoga and games. Connected w/St. Timothy's.

O lives here. Kitchens outside of the room for baking cookies, etc.

I have to tell you, it's hard to explain but when I walked in there I just didn't get a good feeling. It's a much bigger place and my mother likes small. I thought it was congested - too many people around. I didn't like the bedrooms. I thought hey were a little outdated. The people were lovely that showed me around but I just knew in my heart that my mother would not be happy there.

My parents were both in assisted living at first. My dad ultimately had to go into memory care, but first they they made me hire someone for 12 hours a day at $22 an hour, and they were still charging the me full amount for his care. Overall, for my mom it was great, but for my dad was awful. He ended up sitting in the "principals" office a lot of the time. They would call me most days while I was at work and ask me to come and deal with his behavior. Their memory care was very small and there just wasn't a place for him. He is also very hard of hearing, and a lot of the staff spoke English as a second language, so there was a large communication barrier that I think caused a lot of the problems.

It didn't work out too well. I went over for lunch and the young man that took me around was very nice. I made a decision that I should not have made, though, and I put down a deposit for the first month. I should have waited a day to think it over. I knew that I had made a mistake. All I have gotten back is $733 of my $3093. They glossed over the things that I didn't like. There was no microwave and no way to cook anything. All the meals are served in one place. You can't even have breakfast in your own place because you can't cook anything. The living room was huge but had no place for pictures because it was all windows. There was only one elevator in the middle of the building, so the people on the wings had to walk a long way to get to the elevator. They have not responded to me trying to get my money back so I have had to hire a lawyer.

My mom is in a one bedroom suite. They really don't have any care services because it's an independent living place. All they do is provide your meals and then they have cords built into the walls and if you need help you can pull one of those cords and the staff will come in 24hrs a day. My mom hasn't had to use that yet. The meals are probably a 3.5 but there are lots of activities! The main thing about Greely Place, if your loved one is able to function on their own I don't think you can beat it because they off the minimal amount of care at a price that you just can't match. You've got the meals, cleaning your room and then if there is an emergency there is someone there. My mom really does like it.

Clean. Rooms very small, no full kitchens. $4000+/month for tiny studio. Lounge areas looked inviting and comfortable. Not impressed with menu. (Seemed like limited diner food selections.) Need to visit more places before making a decision.

It's my mother that's in there. The friendliness really depends on who is working with my mother. There are some aids that are really good and there are some not so good aids, just like anywhere. So the staff could be more friendly. There are a few there that are excellent but then you have a few that can't be bothered. I think they should be more patient. We're having trouble with my mom right now. She is in a rehab but we're hoping to get her back to sunrise with more help.

Place very friendly but rooms were extremely small. Space that you live in is comparable to a dorm room.
