I liked the integration of assisted living residents with memory care residents. I loved the location!

They do not do what they say they are going to and it is very frustrating! They keep patients and give patients extra care so they can bill for it. My loved one likes the food. Things get [removed] and they don’t know why. We’re working on finding a different community for my loved one.

Very nice independent living. This is the first place I visited. Major deal breaker is that internet would be dial-up in living quarters and that is unacceptable. Major plus was balcony off living room of apartment.

It’s a nice atmosphere. I was just a little disappointed with the clean of the room and some of extra care she did not get. She liked the food. The staff were very friendly and we were happy with the activities that were offered. Because of the time of year, we didn’t get to really make use of outdoor options.

Toured Sunrise 4/24/14. The common areas are beautiful. Staff checks in with residents who have not appeared by 11 am. The monthly rates are very steep, and only 1 meal per day is included. There is a $25 surcharge per trip for travel (to doctor's appointments, etc). While the decorating is lovely, the apartments have very angular kitchen areas with a narrow passage into the living/dining area. One (aging) laundry room on second floor, and other on third floor with restricted hours. No laundry on first floor. Dining is all fresh not frozen, menu each day, dinner served at 5 pm or 6pm, but only 1 meal included (either lunch or dinner). 3 meal plan available but I didn't ask how much more that costs.

Nice but not what I want for them.

VISITED APRIL 2, 2014. Dropped in unannounced and they handled it very well. Director of Activities (Kim) was playing cards with some residents and graciously popped up to give me a tour. Smell test - Passed. Very nicely decorated. Update to date, well-kept. Nice dining areas as well as community and activity rooms. 1st floor was assisted living, 2nd was slight memory care and 3rd was full memory care, alzheimer's etc... Nice apartments, but small. Small fridge, counter, no other kitchen type space. Month to Month, no buy in fee. Sunrise also accomodates 2 week visits, respite visit or simply a month to test it out. No real outdoor space to take walks or sit outside. The porch faces telegraph road, a major roadway. Not soothing surroundings.

Our experience wasn't that great, and it was fairly short. They weren't able to accommodate the level of care that we needed, which I don't understand since they assessed my loved one before we came. I feel like they sold me a dream and gave me a nightmare. They had too many chiefs not enough Indians. If you don't need much help they would maybe be ok.

Compared to others on the market, this place is a 5. However, compared to what it should be, it's more of a 3. There are some issues with keeping up with maintenence (a month to fix a dishwasher). Also, the turnover rate for the staff is concerning. They were accomodating when we first got in, but it seems like once you're in, that service level drops down a notch or two. Overall, though, my grandma is happy here.

I think the price for this place is a little high. If I could change one thing about it, it would definitely be the price. Also, they've recently had a change of staff, so I'm not sure how to rate them. The food is good though - I would give that a 4. There's a decent variety.

Staff is not cohesive. Overpriced and they charge by the day! Elders didn't seem too happy.

Sunrise is designed like a large house. After the tour I am confused as to the layout and am having trouble with three or four levels of care, and four levels within each of them. Surroundings are nice in places, less so in others (a pipe just burst, so first impression wasn't a wow). Tour didn't stop or pause often enough for me to absorb much, but there are some nice places - coffee shop, with activities, porches, patios. Caregivers seem engaged and friendly.

This was a nice enough facility overall, the staff were friendly and they kept it clean. They just had a few issues that lowered the quality of life and kept my Mom from being comfortable here. They did not do a great job at socializing new residents, they do assigned seating in the dining room and I would have liked if they rotated the seating chart every now and then to help everyone meet new people. They have two elevators, but during Mom's stay one of them was broken which really slowed down her ability to move throughout the facility. They also need a covered area outside for people to smoke.

I liked the outside porch and so did my mother, she likes to sit outside in the summer. What I did not care for was the phone system, they did not supply the connection and we would have to have it setup with the phone company. Every facility we toured offered the phone for an additional fee of $40 or less and they supplied the connection.
