Sunrise Senior Living

I toured Sunrise with my husband, and I would have been pleased for mom to move into this community because it is very close to my house. However, when we arrived to take the tour, the [Removed] was answering phones at the front desk, we were told that there was no appointment scheduled for us, and that the person who was supposed to show us around was already with another client. The community itself is beautiful, but the staff’s lack of presence was really unsettling to me.

First impression is the place is too dark, seems like lights are not turn on, odd. Pricing is competitive but there are better choices.

This was a nice community but unfortunately, they were not prepared for our tour and were not able to answer some of our questions. The community was clean and bright but both my dad and I did not feel that he would be a good fit here and the fact that it was a multiple level community my dad felt it would confuse him too much.

Very nice place. 3,000.00 move in fee. Supply own furniture. Does not take Medicaid. Would share kitchenette with another person. Food, activities very similar to Birchwood. Price for high level of care 6,000.00+/month.

My Uncle has had a difficult time with his adjustment here and we are still waiting for management to schedule his 2nd assessment for his level of care here. He is still somewhat independent in his own daily activities and doing his meds but he does need the extra care from the staff when he is getting ready for bed so the staff has been very attentive and friendly encouraging him. My Uncle enjoy joining the other residents in the dining room at mealtime and he likes going out on the patio and porch areas where he visits with the other residents as well, We are taking this slowly and moving forward.

I had a good tour of this community. I toured it for my uncle, and his needs. The tour went well, everyone was nice. From what I saw the community looked nice. It was a nice experience, but I did not feel this was the right match for my uncle, and his needs.

Incredibly nice staff but not crazy about the views.

My wife, and I had a pleasant tour of this community. Everything went pretty well, and everyone was kind to us. From what we saw the community looked good. Everything was nice, and clean. The staff was friendly, helpful. It was a good experience, but this community did not fit into our budget.

Residents are sociable, active and engaged. Staff is helpful and relate well with residents. Great exercise classes! Food is below average, not enough mix in nationalities

I stayed with the community for over a week as a respite resident. Overall the experience was very pleasant. My only issues was in the dining room. it was too crowded when it came time to eat with everyone.

The staff at this community were nice. This community did not offer the services dad needed during his respite stay. The community was nice and clean. The food they offered was good and they had healthy options. I think this community would be ok for a respite stay if the resident was one hundred percent bedridden.

When we toured this community we thought that it was going to be a good fit for my mother but as it turned out it wasn't. My mom is in need of more supervisor than what they were providing for her. Mom is on the 3rd floor in the memory care and there is a mixture of residents with early stages of dementia and Alzheimers with residents that have late stage dementia and Alzheimers which was not good for my mom. She got very depressed seeing people that had the late stage knowing that was the way she would end up. There was no area outside that was secure that the residents could go outside and enjoy the fresh air.

We had visited this community and mostly was concern if they could care for my wife. We seen a lot of places and some were less expensive. I had a tour with them and learned that they could not handle my wife.

This was a very nice community and the staff was friendly and they did a great job with our tour, they showed us all around and answered all our questions. We just did not feel this would be the best fit for my mom.

When I first got here my impression was that it was more of a ward setting not that of an open community like I was looking for for my wife. And my wife's evaluation disqualified her because they felt that they would not be able to address her needs in the independent/assisted living area.

This facility is confident they could take my dad. It seemed good, but I wonder about their scrutiny. They have no memory care units, but do have an assisted living studio. Seemed like staff was engaged, involved, and well liked, but less so than Belmont. Dangled the $5000 move in waiver if we do it in August.

The tour was really good, seeing a nice community and the atmosphere. My intake to what was being told to me, was not the same as what I was seeing in the Memory Care.They didn't do a lot with the residents. I saw some sitting in front of the television. Not much activities or stimulation. They were professional.

From our experiences in this community so far, I do not think this is the right fit for my wife. I was under the impression they were able to provide total level of care for her, and her needs. They made some promises they not followed through with. She needs skilled nursing, and they are not able to provide that level of care. I would say the assisted living portion of the community is nice. I would recommend that side, but not if you need any higher level of care.

Things haven't worked out the way we had hoped they would in moving mom here. Shortly after moving in she became ill and now is under hospice care. We had a rocky start with the staff working with us in getting this done however that has since changed and now they are trying their best to be accommodating to our situation however they are compassionate and kind.
