The layout was confusing, even for me. I can't help but wonder how it would be for someone with Alzheimer's to try and find their own room, even with the picture boxes. The over all lighting seemed dark. The upper levels were bright and cheery alone with the staff.

Parkwood is well located in Fort Collins: near the hospital and many medical providers and shopping opportunities, Our tour was interesting, giving us a good idea of opportunities for activities, and we met many friendly residents who seemed very happy there. The dining area was attractive, beverage and fruit stations inviting, the craft room bright and airy, and the various gathering areas, thought small for a 100 apartment building, were clean and well set up. The apartments we saw seemed small and lacked adequate closet space. No two bedroom model was available for viewing,so we have no idea if we would find a suitable space for us. Our biggest disappointment was our tour guide. She was new, and hadn't quite got a grasp on the information that would help us decide whether this would be a place to consider: She had no price list to offer us, but simply wrote what she could remember on the floor plans she found in her files. She wasn't sure whether there was a pet fee, and could give us no price for the two bedroom apartment; We also discovered that the plan for the two bedroom apartment had no entry to one of the bedrooms(!) We had assumed, it being an 11 AM appointment, that we would be having lunch that day (the 15th), but she extended no invitation. And finally, much to our disappointment, even as my husband explained he was very hard of hearing, she focused her comments to me, and I'm sure without thinking, continually turned her back on us while talking about features of the room we were in.

[Name removed] at Sunrise was lovely, the facility was clean and staff was friendly. It is not a good fit for us.

I met with [Name removed] who was awesome! The downstairs area was very nice and home-like. However I took it off my list when I toured a studio apt. The carpet reminded me of low-grade classroom carpeting. The studio in general was just okay...needed some updating.

Too crowded.

Employee, [Removed] asked me was my sister a [Removed] after I told her my sister had Dementia and was a Nurse at the VA Hospital for over thirty-five years, I felt very upset and put off . She didn’t even take the time to show me the place. Very disturbing assumptions.

I have concerns about its location on a busy intersection. It was a small facility, with a semicircular facade with rocking chairs that looked like a nice place for people-watching.

Took the tour and coincidentally, met the staff in the hallways or at the room where we were discussing their program. Pricing was ala carte and a bit more than what budget can afford. Cute doggie as house pet, named Cashmere who greeted me with a rope toy and wanted to play.

The tour was pleasant. Living Assisted area was inviting. Memory care area was drab. The private room that is available seemed dated and the bathroom had a stench to it. Not the right fit for my loved one

Visited on November 16, 2017. Not interested in facility with Assisted living and Memory Care. Parking was very difficult.

We looked at Sunrise, and I thought that the people here were really lovely and helpful. However, they had limited availability here when we were looking. Also, the community seemed a little small; only 17 spots. wanted my loved one to have a lot of social opportunities, so I just did not feel this would be a good fit for her.

I toured here when looking for a place for my Mom. The building is a little older so it doesn’t look very modern and the color scheme makes it look very dark. I was able to see the rooms and they weren’t that large. Everything looked clean, though, so that was good. Every head of department came to speak with me about what they all did within the facility. The staff was nice and able to answer my questions. However, it just wasn’t the right place for us.

I went on a tour in this community and It was OK. The tour wasn't as good as other tours we had. The building was split into 2 sides. The assisted living and the memory care. They only showed us the assisted living side and we needed to know about the memory care. They were accommodating , It was nice and open. Lots of people out and visiting. It wasn't as nice or fancy then the other place. It just wasn't a good fit.

While looking for a place for my mother, I have gone and seen numerous places. When I went for a tour at this particular location, we spent thirty minutes with processing. They seemed like they had to justify their costs to me. Rather than telling us “We hope you’re comfortable with our facility”, it was like “oh, she’ll like it here. Everybody is happy”. I actually didn’t talk to any residents or saw any while I was there. This was a bit concerning to me because I like places that encourage their residents to be out and about from their rooms. It is a beautiful place however, just did not seem so social comparted to other places. Another thing is their service payment. Depending on how much service one may need, they would just pile everything on top of each other with different service care. I like the simplicity with no other prices, no breakdowns, and no itemizing.

So far, our experience has been rather frustrating at Sunrise. The community is very understaffed, and my loved one often has to wait 30 minutes or more to have someone help him get out of bed or to the bathroom. I’ve talked with the management about this, and I feel they are trying, but it still is an issue. I know that the staff does try, and many of them are very nice. However, my loved one generally feels that he is not receiving respect. The food is good here, and there are a lot of options available. That is something they’re doing right. They also had a really nice program for Veteran’s Day. However, they really don’t have much going on by way of activities. Overall, this community is very expensive, and while I know they do try, there are still many issues that need improved here.

[Removed] took us on a tour she did a good job. The staff was friendly and kind. They seemed to have plenty of activities although the activity areas were smaller. The average resident seemed to need more care then my dad. The showed us a studio, but we were disappointed because my dad would prefer to have a patio for his dog.

When I first walked in, I could tell that it seemed very high class. All of the staff gave off this vibe that they were better than you because you didn’t come from that neighborhood. I could tell that my Grandma didn’t like it at all. It just wasn’t for her. All of the women residents we saw, they were all dressed up and had their best jewelry on. It really didn’t have a homey feel at all. The staff member who gave us the tour was nice and answered all of our questions. The one thing I liked is they did have a snack bar always open in case people are to get hungry between meals. For activities, they didn’t really offer too much besides trips to the malls, games, and movie night. One thing that was a downfall is they don’t have a library. All they had were a few books on a shelf. This facility just didn’t fit what we needed.

walked in unannounced. Did not seem like it would be a good fit for my active mom. Most residents seemed to need a lot of help... Left without a "real" tour.
