Sunrise Senior Living

The food needs to be healthier and not just quick meals. My dad loves his apartment, and overall it's ok for now. I wouldn't recommend this community unless the food was better.

We aren't able to see the cleanliness of the community due to the covid restrictions and they keep increasing the rates.

Both of my parents got covid at this facility and my dad passed away. They are doing as best they can with my step mother. They are trying to keep her as active as possible and they finished lock down and she is able to eat outside of the room finally.

The community was clean and neat and the staff was very nice in general. The food was not very good and I think they could have made improvements. I would definitely recommend this community

My relative came to Sunrise after rehab. The room was beautiful and we added personal touches. The hands on care staff were polite, friendly and professional. This could not be said about some of the senior staff. First, my relative was told they could get what they wanted to eat. Not once! Second , the senior care manager would intimate my relative like a child. Before Covid, Paramus had a gastro virus which kept everyone on lockdown. Depression set in. The will to live disappeared and no one addressed it. You need to visit. STAY ON IT!!

Very nice. Did a virtual tour so no 'sniff' test but we would have been allowed to tour the outside and look in the windows. I just didn't think my Mom would have been happy here. I can't explain why but I just didn't think it was going to be a good fit.

my mom was there for 2 weeks and she had bedsore when she came in and it got worse, the staff cleaned it daily, and a out of facility nursing staff came twice a week. If your family member is mobile this could a community that would work for you.

My parents have been at Sunrise for almost a year now. I am extremely disappointed by how it's managed and don't feel like I can just trust them to take good care of my parents. I wish we had chosen a different community.

It wasn’t the feel I was expecting. It seemed dark and rooms not as spacious a feel that I would have liked. It did give the appearance of a nursing home when you first walked in. There were four residents in wheel chairs in the entrance. Not the feel I was hoping for.

I would recommend that you asks questions the services you are needing. If they ask you, then they may want to charge more. Also, how well equipped. The community is friendly and nice. The value for your money isn't as good as I believe it should be. I had to go through the administration to get answers for the staff. The staff are delivering all the meals to residents due to the pandemic. The grounds are well taken care of. The maintenance team is amazing!

We chose Sunrise on Providence at the time because they were able to accommodate a hoigher lift. Another reason was that it was close to where I live so I could see him on a daily basis. My loved one was here a little over a year, initially we were pleased with the care and attention, but I was increasingly displeased. I do not think they handled the pandemic well, there were a lot of covid cases as well as they stopped doing all activities. The food here was not good, they did not have good quality meals or variety in their meals. They did have some very good staff members here, but as far as day to day care goes, a lot of them did not seem to care that much. I would not recommend this community at the moment.

I would want others to know that Sunrise of Willowbrook is very expensive. I am not a fan of the executive director, she said we can call her whenever and when I do, she never calls me back. We have not had a good experience here at all and I would not recommend to others.

Very pricey. Its not All Inclusive. The rooms have a base rate and then increases based on what Mom needs. The starting rate for a Studio Rm: $5400. Starting rate for a 1 bed room is $5490.

My loved one was only in the community for only a month. I did a lot of the items for my loved one. My loved one wasn't the easiest to work with due to medical conditions they had. I believe the staff tried to do what they could with my loved one to the best of their ability. The room was small to the point the bed was pushed up against the closet for my loved one. The nurse would come in and if she couldn't care for them, they would call in reinforcements to assist with turning my loved one. My loved one didn't like being turned and the staff left my loved one in bed. I feel that they could have been more gentle with my loved one when caring for them. Some of the activities included singing songs, a woman coming in with a dog, arts and crafts, and watching television for the residents.

I only visited Brighton Gardens one time and we thought overall the community was okay, the workers were very nice and friendly. I was able to eat a meal there and the food would be a four out of five.
