Sunrise Senior Living

I feel like the Care Team is understaffed at Aspired Living of Westmont. The Management Team is inexperienced and, at times, difficult to work with. There are staff members that are kind, compassionate and caring. Others, not so much. It doesn't seem as though they are being monitored by anyone. I wouldn't recommend Aspired Living of Westmont as an Assisted Living facility. It's a nice apartment with nice entertainment choices during the week and mediocre food.

My loved one is currently a resident at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh and everything started off okay for her at this facility, but things are not so great now. The new Director is not great and does not appear to be very friendly. However, most of the other staff are friendly. My loved one hasn't needed much as far as care services, so I cannot rate that one. The food is mediocre. As for the activities, sometimes there is no one to run them and also the participation is low. The value for cost is okay, my loved one has a large apartment. My loved one thought that she would like this larger place and loved the large apartment, but I think the medium sized places that we saw might have been a better fit, food and care wise. I'm not sure that I would recommend Brighton Gardens of Raleigh to someone right now.

The staff here in Assisted Living are attentive and caring. I was recently ill and their attention and care were very appreciated!

My father had a positive experience at visit and staff was convinced they could meet his needs. The staff tried hard but were not prepared for or capable of caring for a blind patient.Initial room assignment was unlivable with urine smell deep into carpet from previous resident. Value ok, good palatable, but dining room assistance suboptimal. Minimal OT/PT. Friendliness excellent.

My loved one is currently a resident at Sunrise of Bluemont Park and her experience at this facility has been okay overall. It's an older facility, so there's no technology to help with activities, dietary requirements or anything resident specific. The meals are terrible. They definitely need better meal options. There are no activities past 4pm. They need more of a variety of activities for the active residents, this facility seems to not know what to do with active people. Also, there is no or little communication about how my loved one spends her days with the activity people. That would be helpful. I would recommend Sunrise of Bluemont Park to others, but families need to look at each facility to determine which is the best fit for their loved one.

I picked this community because I liked the setting. I have enjoyed my stay.

Activities weren't very varied, but the coordinator interacted very well and knew how to gently manage his audience. It was a decent place, with decent care. Better than average in most ways. The biggest problem we had was that they mishandled collection and handling medical specimens on two different occasions which could have had serious negative results.

Our family had an in person tour with this community and it was good tour experience so far but we felt there was some nickel and diming and additional charges going

About as expected. Great to have acess to therapy pool, and exercise facility. Great library is close by. Dinner is fine but breakfast, has too many carbs.

When friends visit, they call and report similar concerns. Staff should be circulating and more aware. Difficulties with communication for certain. We both have emails, texts, and phone calls unanswered for weeks- so frustrating, and promises made are unkept. Missing articles never located. Attitude toward a patient should be more caring. Looking for more empathy and compassion toward a struggling patient. Sometimes just choice of words would help not to mention extending care.

I would recommend to others. We picked this community because of the homelike environment. The carpets should be replaced.

We movd in two weeks ago and notified the managemnt of our problems; food shortage, floor need repair, Dead electrical outlet in bathroom. dishwasher did not clean well, equiring multiple washes. bracket holding venitian blinds to porch doorcould not safely close; coming out of wall.housekeeping missed the first week and was terrible the second week unplugging several key electrical appliances, leaving them unplugged and poorly cleaning he floor leaving dirt..ll problems were reported multiple times. to. l both acknowledged that theyn were way behind so many tasks. many food seletions we frequently over cooked. seating is very slow.for dinner meals and sunday brunch. A walkway from our porch/patio to main sidewalk was requested prior to ariving in and never resolved.The staff is very nice management is friendly but promising correcting action that did no take place. we are waiting to see if our concerns can be cordilly and professionally resolved.

Everyone concern about my welfare. They are very attentive and nice. Feel safe in my room. Satisfied with the care level , with everything I am perfectly satisfied with here at Sunrise. I don’t have any other place to compare to.

Don't do it. It is too expensive and they are too unorganized.Loved working with [named removed]. Also in my mom's neighborhood she was familiar with and location close to family.I think if [name removed]was the manager it would run much better. I know they were in the middle of a big remodel which caused chaos but after talking to other children if residents, the cleaning and food has always been a problem. Nice wait staff in the dining hall though.

We like the layout of the Sunrise of Metairie building the most. They could definitely make improvements within the dining room, especially when it comes to the ordering of the meals to the quality of the food.

My loved one is a resident at Sunrise of Frisco. There is lots of staff turn over. There have been a few incidents of theft: residents medication, money, food and other items. The housekeeping is okay. They are nice, but make the resident leave the room while cleaning. Communication with family needs much improvement. The food is a hit or a miss, lately it's more of a miss. Also, the food staff does not have any patience with the residents. The actual move in process was okay, the pressure/urgency from the salesman for a deposit was not appreciated. I would not recommend Sunrise of Frisco to others at this time. If they were to improve, I would.

We picked this community because of the friendly staff. Facility was clean. It only the last few weeks that I noticed the change. House keeping needs to be improved. My family members room and bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a couple of weeks. Everything else is great.

Sunrise of New City was ok, but just not for my parents. Most of the residents are wheelchair bound and needed assistance with everything. The setting was just not right for them. It would be good for those that are not mobile

I have been at Battery Park Brookdale for over a month… not many here who are very independent…maybe they were when they moved in. Location near park and river is wonderful. Public busses , one of them a free neighborhood bus, are very convenient. People here are intelligent & accomplished. Activities are interesting: Juilliard students, musicians & speakers. Pool closed weekends. Brookdale busses are good, but do not really do all they should. Staff are mostly good, some excellent and dedicated. They work hard hours in terrible heat, and I am guessing low wages since the turnover is great. Real problems from an aging building & poor maintenance. Is the Brookdale Company or building owner responsible for the roof leaks, elevator disruptions, serious air conditioning problems in all the public spaces including the dining room? Food is pretty good/sometimes truly awful.. especially the special lobster event:mine was tough, dry and RAW (!I) in one spot. Often it is salty.
