Their sales woman is a definite 5! She was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The care management and nursing staff aren't very communicative unless they need something from us. If we need something from them, they don't respond. The apartments are beautiful, the staff is very friendly and the food is yummy. The cost is high and we feel a bit nickel and dimed about things.

The moving in transition was difficult and not coordinated. The people are nice, but the communication could be better.

Sunrise is best for seniors who can take care of themselves for the most part. Not good for hospice care. Caregivers were kind. They stated that they could adjust as your care based on your needs, but my sister's status changed quickly after she moved in and went to the hospital and chose hospice care. When she went back to Sunrise for hospice, they couldn't manage her symptoms, and asked that she move out after a few days.

They were very kind and treated my relative with love and care.

I think it's more of an industry thing but we are not happy there. The people are very nice, staff is great. Food is an issue and it's clear it's a for profit business. We are thinking of having my mom go back on her own. She's out really taking advantage of the amenities that are available. Happy to provide more details if you wish.

Location was convenient. It's very bright, looks cheerful. Right now 3. Because the facility is older, they have had some maintenance problems which have been a pain. The staff haven't handled those well

They are extremely to high. And the price goes up and up constantly.

I would not recommend this facility for any family member who needs more than basic care.

The Jefferson is in a convenient location. The public areas are nicely decorated. They have celebrations for holidays. I think they could increase staffing levels for the care aides, and strive for a consistent level of care, especially with transferring from wheelchair to bed. We have two private aides coming 7 days a week from 6:30 am-2:30 pm. Then my sister-in-law and I work from 2:30 pm to 8:00 or 8:30 pm. We applied for John R Kennedy's Federal Long Term Care Insurance, which hopefully gets approved. I have to admit that it's nice to have the nurses, pharmacy techs, pt, ot, and doctor in house. Transportation makes office visits much easier.

The facility was very nice. A little pricier than others. In my opinion the sales person was just too much of a sales person for the type of product they are selling. He also talked bad about other facilities which I take as a complete turnoff. If you can only sell your product by putting others down then I don’t want your product.

They did not have an exercise nor did they have a Nustep machine for my sister's Parkinsons. We felt this facility was not on a par with other facilities that we visited. We didn't see the value for the price.

Place was a nice size & clean, food was very good, & staff was generally good & a few were excellent. I think they were understaffed. Response was not always quick & if the client needed alot of care, additional caregivers were required. I started with 4 hrs/day and in the last few weeks had 24/7. I'm not sure any nice place would do better.

I have been here over three years and food service and quality has varied significantly, from poor to very good, but mostly poor to fair. Housekeeping services have declined every since I moved here.

Beautiful surroundings. Excellent compassionate care. Excellent as a transition location while we searched for a permanent placement. On the negative side: the medical support during the time we were there, was disorganized and low quality. Once we got established with a permanent facility for my family member, we realized what top-notch, comprehensive medical support can be.

In touring facilities my family and I chose Sunrise Senior Living of Raleigh based on the prestation, mission statement, cleanliness, the material supplied and the promises of what to expect from a well equipped staff. What I have witnessed on frequent visits does not back those promises up. Three times I have had to deal with management about my concerns Turn over seems too much and some of the weekend staff leaves a lot to be desired. I'm closely watching and waiting for improvement.

Response times to calls for assistance were typically long, sometimes much longer than the ten minutes - stated goal. More staff may have helped the situation. However, the staff were pleasant and friendly, wanting to assist the residents.

Better than numbers, I can say that the folks are nice, the care seems good but management systems are woefully inadequate and the place is clearly very understaffed (especially in food service). Having spoken with others I think this is common at many Sunrise facilities and not unique to Shrewsbury.

I like that my mom is always up and with the other people. There seems to be plenty of help around. I have seen them playing simple games like hitting a balloon around as pitiful as that sounds. Most of the other people are pretty far gone, but so is my mom, not quite as bad but getting there. I'm not really sure what they could be doing better because it's a pretty depressing situation

We picked them because of the location. I would recommend to others.

I like the care takers, I like the rooms and common areas. I dislike the admin team, my bill has never been what I was quoted and it has gone up every month since my mom moved in. When I question them about it I never get a straight answer.
