In the beginning it was a little touch and go but now that our loved one is starting to settle in they seem to be happy with the services they are receiving. They are starting to go to the dining hall which is great and we hope they want to engage in activities. Based on our experience so far we would recommend this community to other families.

This has been a good experience for us. Sometimes it feels that the community is short of staff. I believe the community is providing housekeeping twice a week, and my loved one's bed is made every day except for the weekends. The staff communication with the family is very good.

If you want more of a cozier feel than a bigger community feel, this is a good place for your loved one. The community has recently had some turnover of care staff. The staff communication with the family is great, and they are willing to answer our questions or address our concerns.

This has been a good experience for us so far. The community is having some staff turnover; however, they are working through it. The staff communication with the family is pretty good if we have questions over our loved one. It would be nice to see better personal care such as to remember the resident's glasses and to place them on the resident's face.

I would advise others to be sure to ask about resident happiness and satisfaction. I suggest you to eat a meal or two at the facility. And that you investigate the many different Sunrise facilities in this area, to understand the differences.

I could not physically care for my loved one, so him being there is a great relief that someone is caring for him. They have a lot of activities to offer, my loved one doesn't participate in much but they do have a list of events going on for the day and I see a lot of things going on. He also loves the food. I have no complaints, once I got to know who is responsible for what and what they can and can't do. I'm so happy that he's somewhere where he's happy. My loved one has a single room which is a nice sized room with a foyer office, a big bathroom, and a nice sized closet. They have bigger rooms, but we didn't see the sense in that. They provide a bed, mattress, night table, chair, and laundry & housekeeping services. What's important to him is that they have snacks available all day long. They are very clean, he has to put his laundry in a bag the night before and they change his sheets. First couple months there were spent getting to know him, and teaching him what he was responsible for and how things work. Recently, they've started to do a bit more for him on a more regular basis, because of his health. The community is physically accessible for me, he's comfortable there, and the staff get along with him well. He's as happy as he's going to be living there.

I toured Sunrise of Springfield, we had a great experience and first impression. We liked this community a lot, it was our second choice and we were very close to choosing them. We chose another community because Sunrise's proximity to friends and relatives was not a good fit for us.

I would highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. There are some staff that are very caring and nice to work with. In the beginning I was getting a phone call from the community once a day during my loved one's transition. I wish they would keep us as updated as they were in the beginning to assist where the family needs are for our loved one. Overall, it has been a positive experience for us. My loved one said the other day, that they really love it here.

All of the staff are very friendly. Whether you are working with the care staff, desk staff, kitchen, dining room, or activities staff they are very welcoming and open. The building is older, and this is what drew my loved one to the community. The activities are varied each day. Each resident will receive a newspaper to remind them of the activities, meal times, and funny comments. The meals are well balanced and bland in taste. There are always condiments on the table to spice the food up if the resident would like. There are menus posted in advance for the residents to see. There is ice cream, cakes, cookies, and pies everyday for dessert options and these are extrandoarily good.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a really nice tour experience

We had a good tour at Sunrise of Northville. I thought it was a nice place, but their cost was a little high.

My loved one has said the facility from the outside is very pretty, and the grounds are nice. My family went to visit her apartment and reported back that the counters were sticky, and the storage area where she keeps her things was awfully maintained - it had lots of trash, etc. The general areas were clean; but they did feel like they needed to help clean her apartment, as it needed a deeper clean. She's very picky, kind of a clean freak, and likes to keep things immaculate. Small things like streaks on the stainless steel bother her, whereas others may not care. Because she's so particular, she has high expectations and expects things to be in “tip-top” shape. She did get her medicine cabinet replaced because there was rust in it. The Director of the Community handled the things she requested, which was very good. However, my loved one wanted to speak with the Director of Sales. She wanted her to come and see the apartment and what was wrong with it, but she never came. Yet she was very accommodating and present during the initial stages of this process. When my loved one was in a different facility, the first thing they did was came by to make sure everything was okay - so she had the same expectations here. She does feel like they're a little short staffed. My aunt said the food is good, which is a big part of living in a community. She is pleasantly surprised by the meals and likes the food. They offer varieties of fish with daily options, and on Fridays they offer beer or wine - which is nice to have with dinner. She’s not involved in many activities, but does think they have a very good library and book selection. Prior to moving in, she wishes that she would’ve known that all the patios were under renovations. She had just gone through renovations at her previous place, but I’m unsure how bad the noise is right now or how long it’ll last. They did say they’ll reimburse a bit of money for the square footage she can't use; but she still wishes she had known that prior to. I do still feel that the value for the cost is great because there’s a lot she likes about it. She was disappointed that the apartments don't come with a microwave. They offer a stove with an oven; but if you’re having meals provided for you, you’re likely going to need a microwave for tea or quick microwaveable food. It's a really strange thing to not have in a senior living community. It should’ve been included, but she had to buy her own. I also doubt most residents are actually utilizing their stove & oven. If I had to send a relative down to Florida, I would say “ Go and check out Stratford Court”. Our family members in town said we made an excellent choice. I would recommend anyone in the area who’s looking for senior living, to stop by and see the community. In addition to Stratford Court: A Place for Mom was great! I enjoyed working with them, they were right on it. My loved one was living in Pennsylvania with me and we thought she was going to move to a community there - but ended up wanting to move back to Florida. A Place for Mom switched to places in Florida and sent me those places immediately. The communities contacted me immediately and they offered virtual tours for us, as it was difficult for me to accompany her from afar. That was absolutely wonderful! They sent me a floor plan, which showed where her unit would be in relation to an exit and the remainder of the community. They broke everything down and did an excellent job at explaining the process and how the community is run.

They are short on help but I know that that is across the board, not just here. A lot of the new people that they hire are not up to speed on the individual residents and what their care needs are. They did make an effort to specialize her diet and we appreciate that. I just feel that the staff are missing little details.

With memory care, some of the staff needs more education and training on how to deal with people with dementia. They're task oriented - they let the people with dementia rule them around rather than directing the dementia patents and coaxing them. Some of the staff members are very, very good, but some, particularly the younger ones, don't' seem to get it and are likely lacking in training. Cleanliness is good. Right now during Covid times, the common areas are not allowed for visitors, but you can visit in your person's room or outside, although that's slightly inconvenient. But they do have a couple of designated visiting rooms. It sounds like visitation should be opening up soon, although they haven't given a set date yet. I do like Sunrise, and I think it's a decent place that could just use a few improvements.

They seem to be taking good care of my loved one. Although they said they would help him if we wanted to get outside, and it seems like they're not doing as much as I think they could be in that area. Overall the staff seem to be nice. I would like to see Sunrise keep up the facility better. I see some damage in the rooms and things that they're not addressing.

For the short period of time we were there, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. It was a good respite experience overall. One area for improvement is I maybe would have liked to have see a little more responsiveness to call buttons.

We had a good tour experience with Sunrise of Cherry Creek. They focused on things here that just did not fit my parents personalities and it was also on a pretty busy street. Those were the reasons we did not choose this facility.

I researched several places and found Sunrise at Countryside to be the best fit. It offers many activities, it has a lovely setting. You can sit inside or out. The staff is terrific. I'm sure it can be challenging some days, but they always have a friendly, professional and caring demeanor. I also think when you (as the family contact) work with them, everyone succeeds!

My loved one was here quite a while and it started out very well. Towards the end they wanted to increase the level of care which had a big price tag on it. When meeting with them about why it was increasing I was not pleased with the way that it was handled. The manager did say that they were going to be changing that policy but I am not sure if that has happened.
