Sunrise Senior Living

This was a very nice community. The community had a very large buy-in. The prices was also more than we wanted to spend.

Everything at Sunrise of Plymouth Beach is great. The only thing they need to work on is a little more communication with family members. But I like the activities, apartment, and meals.

I toured this facility. It was a very nice facility with outstanding administration, but it was too far for my father to travel to visit.

Sunrise is for people who are already outgoing. My mom suffers with depression and she is most often withdrawn. As a result, she stays in her room most of the time. She also has toileting needs but she refuses service and I have been told they don't force toileting or activity participation since she is an adult. As a result of lack of activity and encouragement she has developed sores and severe edema. If you have a loved one who can take care of themselves and really just needs 3 meals and people interaction, I would 100% recommend Sunrise as a clean facility with plenty of activities and fun celebrations plus residents and employees grow to feel like family.

Very friendly and welcoming. Definitely can be slightly overbearing in terms of safety and what residents can do independently but that is understandable. Just a heads up for any family member where the potential resident is still very independent.

We chose Sunrise of Chevy Chase House because it was the closest to me, it was a smaller facility, and it is all assisted living so it was not mixed with other types of care. The staff is GREAT. It is a very sunny, pleasant environment. Everyone seems really happy to be here which is awesome. I would recommend Sunrise to others looking.

Overall, our experience has been pretty good at this facility. The meals are pretty good, the quality is better on somedays than others sometimes. Housekeeping is often and they do a good job. Communication with the family is good. The staff is overall pretty good. They could probably do with more staff. My loved one often has to wait awhile for assistance when she presses her call button. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

We secured a fabulous unit with a huge terrace where we can have our planters. Its about 1300sq feet and we love having our planters out there - it beats any other assisted living unit. If you are feeling lonely there is a custom here where the residents invite other resident to join them for dinner - we have received many invitations which has been quite pleasant. There is a huge range of activities throughout the week which is nice. Based on our experience so far we would recommend Brookdale Battery Park City to other families and in fact we know other people who have left their current community to come here,

Holiday The Courtyard was a good experience. Cleanliness of the building more so bumps and bruises on the walls/doors make it look old. Staff superb. Excellent care. He liked the meals and appreciated the activities

I would recommend you tour the community to see if it would the right fit for your loved one. There were some gaps in internal communication that created some issues with care for our loved one. The Executive Director was good at resolving concerns that the family had. There were three meals a day served to the residents, and there were choices for the residents to choose from.

I have been very pleased with the quality of care, and the staff works well with the Hospice team who also care for Mom. The staff keeps Mom's apartment clean and neat, and she enjoys the social aspects of living in a senior community. We all thought that moving from her home to an Assisted Living community would be a difficult transition for Mom, but it has gone remarkably smoothly. She is very content.

I would recommend Sunrise on Old Meridian to other families.

Well she never stayed there but they did a bait & switch number on us. Quoted us a price for her care needs & wanted a deposit check but then after her review increased the price by $400! That was way off & of course they had deposited her check so we finally got our money back after I threatened to ruin them about 6 weeks later. It was a beautiful place but don't know about care there

They have a fairly new reminiscence care coordinator and the place needed work so she is making some progress towards better. They still have a ways to go. I feel that mom is safe and that is the most important thing me.

It was the only facility that I was able to get my loved one to. They pay attention to what's going on, and they try to keep my loved one engaged. I would recommend to other families, and I have.

Sunrise of Northville in Plymouth is a very friendly community of people. They have helped make my loved one feel comfortable and have helped me feel less worried about them, because they are safe and getting good care there and my loved one is happy. They need to improve on keeping my loved one's bathroom clean. I cleaned the mat in the shower, which should have been cleaned by them. My loved one raves about the food. They said there are always choices. I personally haven't shared a meal with my loved one there yet. The staff is very helpful. If they cannot answer a questions; they direct you to someone who can. I haven't had any problems with them.

This is a very nice facility. It's brand new and beautiful. Communication with the family is very good. The staff are very helpful and good about follow up when needed. The overall cleanliness of the facility is very good, but we've had some issues with cleanliness of my loved one's room. I think part of that was because they were short staffed and I know that's with every place. But it's getting better. The food is ok overall, some meals are great and some not so great. They seem to be better on the Assisted Living side. I've noticed that not all of the menu items that are available in the dining room/Assisted Living are available for the Memory Care residents. Overall, it's a very nice place. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.

I really like the staff. The meals are tasty and good, and there is a set time when the meals start. They encourage everyone to come down and socialize. The community is really strong, and they support each other. They are in the process of replacing the activities director. It is inexpensive compared to other places. We picked this facility because of the community interaction. It's a lot of safe freedom for my loved one. For the last four months, there has been a transitional issue, and there is a new general manager, and they are hiring new people. My loved one has help with her pet and medicine. It's a customized assisted living, which I really like.

We've had a very good experience overall. It's a very warm and inviting atmosphere, with a very homey appearance. It feels more like a big house, as opposed to a facility - it's not so clinical looking, which is a plus for older individuals. My only criticisms are that sometimes things aren't done as timely as they could be. And I think their medication management is too expensive.
