Sunrise Senior Living

My mom has been at Sunrise for a couple of years now. The most important thing for me is that she is being taken care of to my satisfaction and she is spoken to in a friendly and compassionate voice. I am there almost every single day and therefore, I see a lot First and foremost [name removed], is by far your best staff member. She is so caring, a great communicator and so very patient. [Name removed], is lovely and she is good at listening. Very helpful. [Name removed] makes everyone feel welcomed. She is very helpful and I see her pitching in whenever needed. I can't say enough about [name removed], she works her butt off, going from one resident to the next, she is always so kind. She needs to be permanent on the first floor. When she is not working, the residents there ask for her! [Name removed], certainly has the most bubbly personality, she is fun, charismatic, outgoing and often funny. She is wonderful with all the residents and liked by all!

Just like so many places the staffing challenges have created barriers to receiving a 5 score. Dining room and pals are in short staff. That being said all employees that do work give 100 percent effort.

Sunrise of Newtown Square was along the lines of Rose Tree Place. It was bright, but not overwhelmingly an active community and pleasant staff for my loved one.

We toured Sunrise of Bridgewater during our search for Assisted Living for my mom. The facility itself was very nice. However, it was VERY pricey compared to others in the area.

My loved one was here for a short stay. The community was clean, and the staff were very kind. I was given wrong information about the financials of having my loved one in Sunrise. I would recommend you ask several questions about the financial information on caring for your loved one and the room your loved one will be in. I was told that I would get money back that I put down, and I have never received a penny back. The community is now stating they don't give any of the money I put down back to me. Buyer beware!

The administrative staff has been great and reasonably responsive. The few issues that have arisen with staff have been addressed quickly. My dad's room has been kept clean. Regarding meals, it's hard to say. My dad likes to complain about food, but he's able to substitute something he likes when meals have not been to his liking. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

We picked this community because, it was modern and new, and fair pricing. I would definitely recommend to other families.

Our family had an in person tour with Brighton Gardens of Middletown and it was a good overall tour experience but we just felt there were a lot of rules and not a lot of convenient places to walk anywhere.

We picked this community because, they had the best COVID precautions and nursing care, and an available space when we needed to move him. It was the middle of COVID. Also, the hallways were inviting. The Director of Nursing is excellent, and knew when my loved one needed medical attention. However, there has been a lot of staff turnover and care teams vary greatly in their competence to achieve care goals.

Sunrise of Braintree is a very nice place, but you need to verify that the patient's needs can be met by the staff. If your person requires overnight assistance, I would not recommend.

All of the staff are very friendly. The facility is always clean. Communication with the family is at least a monthly update and if concerns, more frequent. The meals in Memory Care are fair. I would recommend this facility to others.

Sunrise of Yorba Linda is a very nice facility. The staff in the Memory Care unit were wonderful to my mom while she was there (she passed away in 2021) and they are very good to my stepdad as well who still resides there in Assisted Living. I would recommend it highly.

This was tied for first place with the facility we ended up choosing. Lobby and residents' rooms were attractive. Staff were pleasant and helpful. It had a kind of bistro where residents could get coffee and snacks. It also had a resident therapy dog that wandered around! Downside for me: It had 2 floors so residents needed to use an elevator BUT, it also had a very wide open grand staircase . Not safe with people using canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.

We had a good tour experience with Sunrise of Bridgewater. We almost were going to move my loved one here, but the cost was higher so we went with a different Sunrise location. The tour was a little less personal here.

Overall, Sunrise Yorba Linda was a very good place for my mother. I felt the facility was well maintained and the staff was kind and helpful. The on-site nurse was important as well to make sure her medication was dispensed properly. She was recovering from a fractured right hip which made it difficult for her to move around. There were a few things I wish they had available for her like a bedpan and a shower chair. I had to bring those in myself. Their computer visitor check in was awkward and not as user friendly as I would have liked but the front desk person always greeted my wife and I with a warm smile. I felt that moms care was good for the 5 weeks she was there but she eventually passed away there on Mother’s Day 2021. In retrospect, she probably could have used some additional time at the skilled nursing facility post surgery to get stronger and have more physical therapy.

We toured the Independent Living at this facility and the tour was good. The people we spoke to were very nice and they were very good at following up with me after the tour. The facility was clean. I didn't love the layout of the apartments as much. They had lovely outdoor spaces. The thing that we didn't like is that it is a very large facility, which could be difficult for someone with mobility issues. We didn't see the Assisted Living, so I can't speak to that.

It's always good to check in... despite the professional staff they need feedback from time to time.

I would praise the care staff , facility, and support that my loved one is receiving. Unfortunately, I cannot say anything positive regarding the billing, accounting and administration of those matters. I have not been able to use the portal due to invoices being incorrect, and the portal will only accept full invoice payment. This aspect of my experience is very disappointing.

The staff that we work with are awesome. Like every other Assisted Living facility, they are short staffed and it takes a while to get assistance. According to my loved one, the food is terrible. But based on her care, the setup of the building, and the friendliness and knowledge of the staff, I would definitely recommend this facility to friends and family.

They have been very patient with my mom. She is actually not there anymore. She needs to move to a nursing home. The Apartment was fine, and they kept it clean. I would recommend this place to other families.
