Sunrise Senior Living

I thought Sunrise of Abington was nice. It was a little more expensive though. And my dad preferred another place that was more veteran oriented.

I would recommend you check the community out to see if it would be a good fit for your loved one. The staff communication with the family is very good when we have questions or concerns. There are three meals and day served and there choices to choose from. There is flower arranging, music, church services, and more as some of the activities offered to the residents.

Sunrise has been great. My mom is doing very well there. The independence she has there and the ability to walk around an be social has been very good for her. We're very happy with Sunrise.

Sunrise has very professional and caring staff; and some staff that needs more supervision or training. The overall care is excellent and my mom raves about the food.

There is no complaints about the food. We picked this community, because of the refferals, they offered more personal care, and it was closer to my home. Everything is okay. I am pretty satisfied. They offer activities such as; card games, arts and craft and bingo. They have done well with the personal care. I would recommend to other families.

It was a beautiful facility. The value for the money was not there. My tour experience was good.

We were atrracted, to the staff and the reviews. I talked to people who had loved ones here. We picked this community, because they were proffessional, I liked the friendliness,and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. It seemed like a better fit for my loved one.The billing has been an issue, so it would be nice if they had a better system, and followed-up with phone calls. I would recommend to other families.

Our family had an in person tour and the guy gave a great tour but ultimately it was just not going to be the best fit for our loved one

We really enjoy the people there, the staff members are very caring and the administrative staff team has been wonderful. Most of the care givers have been great and we do feel that our loved one is well looked after and well cared for. They are making improvements to total remodel the community - it has caused some confusion for our loved one but it is all for the good of the community. The meals on the assisted living side were great, but when our loved one moved over to the memory care side they had more limited choice - which we do understand why.

We were very impressed with our tour experience at Sunrise Bon Air. The facility is absolutely beautiful - very nice. Unfortunately it just came down to the cost factor for us, it was more than we would be able to afford. They gave us a wonderful, informational tour though and did a great job showing us around and what all they had to offer.

Like with any other place, the family has to be proactive and involved on a regular basis There are good people if you need to make a complaint or need help. They listen to you and call you back. However, that doesn’t necessarily carry down to the direct care staff. With the way pricing is set up, we feel a bit nickel and dimed for the care, and they’re not really on top of things. It takes them a long time to come when our loved one presses the call button. But generally the staff are great. She loves the food. They constantly have things going on- I love their activities and how they keep their residents engaged. It’s a beautiful atmosphere, and they’re in the process of renovating. Everything is very clean, updated, and cheerful. Our loved one is happy here.

They were going through a covid outbreak at the time, so our tour experience was virtual. I thought they still did a great job of showing us around and we really liked the facility. Unfortunately they had no availability and there would have been 4 people ahead of us on the waitlist.

As you can see, I'm very happy with the care my mom receives. The quality of the food has gone down the past few months, not sure if it is cost cutting or change in chefs. People are attentive and friendly. Unfortunately there has been a lot of turnover in staff (both workers and administrators) but that is likely indicative of the times. Just as with any place communication between family and staff is important as is visiting and observing. One has to be an advocate for the resident because they are often unable or reluctant to speak up for themselves.

One reason for rating is communication with staff is very difficult. I would recommend the facility. They have some good staff who really care. Communication takes work. But can be done. Must be persistent and patient. But I wish we would have moved there in the first place instead of a different facility.

It's a very well designed, cozy, friendly, and comfortable facility. But they are often understaffed. My mother is in the reminiscence section, and there seem to be hardly any activities in that section. I think they do very well on the medical front. And I like the staff they do have a lot, so I would recommend Sunrise of Fleetwood to others.

The big concern I have is that when trying to get my loved one ready to leave for an appointment. I wish the internal communication was better to have my loved one ready for appointments. My loved one enjoys the meals. There are three meals a day served to the residents. There was one price quoted at the beginning, and that lasted a few days. Then the community stated my loved one needed additional care and they are additional charges per month. Now, I feel stuck because the community is wanting to add additional care and charge more for the care every few months. I can't see where they are adding care.

This is a good community for what we needed. The staff communication with the family has been good. There are three meals a day and choices for the residents to choose from. Some of the care includes medication management, dressing and bathing assistance, and hygiene care.

Very nice community and staff. It was big and felt a little overwhelming to me for my loved one.

All of their staff members have to be vaccinated and boosted which to us was tremendous and extremely important. We do like how the staff members are always checking up on the residents. They had a covid outbreak which they got under control and to us that was very impressive. The meals and dining service at times can be hit or miss - it does tend to be a lot of pasta and canned sauces with not a lot of vegetables.

The staff members are great, the meals and dining service is great and there are plenty of activities for the residents to get involved in
