They moved in during Covid, and there weren't any activities going on at the time. But now that those restrictions are gone, there are still no activities going on, other than taking residents out for a walk if the weather is nice. But my biggest complaint is - it was a really hard landing. They didn't really acquaint us with how things worked and how best to communicate with the staff and what to expect as far as transition for my loved ones. It required me to be constantly calling them to get information. I thought there would have been an orientation for the families. And I thought I saw in their material that there were family meetings they hold periodically. But none have occurred yet. On the other hand, the place is very clean. I feel my mom is very safe there. My stepfather loves the food. My mother not so much, but she was pickier even eating the food I cooked her. The biggest thing was that hard landing. We've also had some billing issues that took over two months to resolve. But that has gotten resolved now. Would I recommend people put their parents here? Absolutely. You can rest assured that your loved ones will be well cared for. And that has taken a huge weight off my shoulders. But I hope that they can develop some sort of orientation for the family regarding how things work and what to expect. And I would also like to see some improvements in their communication.

It is a friendly atmosphere, right when you walk in there is laughter and comradery amongst the staff. It is just a warm and cozy community. We are glad we made the move it has been a good one, and the gal in charge of overseeing the care is very responsive. However i think there was a little disconnect with the sales presentation. Our loved one is receiving really good care but we thought there would be some sort of app that we could see that would log their daily care routines - like when our loved one received their medicine, when they were bathed if they had to be. They do have an app with their social events which is nice.

Aspired Living was a very nice facility. It is a bigger facility that had multiple levels to it. We were looking for something a little smaller that was on one level. There was nothing wrong with it at all, it just did not fit what we were looking for.

Most of the care givers and other residents here are really nice. The activities director is awesome and really good to work with but I do wish at times there were more activities that I would be interested in. Sometimes they do not have enough care givers here so the response time is slower, that could be a big improvement. I also wish they would listen to the residents more often at times.

The staff are excellent; however, there is not enough of them. The community opened their doors during COVID, and the pandemic has been difficult to work with in Connecticut. The community is beautiful, brand new, and it looks like a hotel that is well maintained. The staff are great to work with if the family has questions or concerns. There is housekeeping, room, laundry services, and meals that are included in the monthly fee. There can be additional fees for medical care. The community has been able to assist with medication management, one person assists, bathing, and sometimes hygiene care. Some of the activities they have available are live animals brought in, entertainers, games, and more for the residents to choose from. The food is excellent, it would be better if there was more variety for the residents to choose from.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice community but we noticed there was very few men there so we just knew it was not going to be the best fit for our father

I would recommend you look to see if this would be a good fit for your loved one. The staff are really good to work with. Due to the pandemic it seems that there is some shortage of staff. The housekeeping has moved to every other week. There are washers and dryers in the building for the residents to use on both floors and free. The room, cable, electricity, and housekeeping are included in the monthly fee. The food can be delivered colder than I like it. Some of the activities available are bingo, movies, field trips, games, poker, and more for the residents to choose from. The community looks for feedback from the residents. Transportation is available through the community if the residents need it.

This has been a good experience. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. This is after a short stay so far, I can say. My loved one went in and didn't panic, and it went seamlessly. The community is able to assist with bathing, feeding times, medication management, hygiene, and getting to appointments on time. There is a monthly fee and another fee for the actual care that is being received. The community offers dietary restriction accommodations.

This is a nice community. The only issue is that the cost of the community is a lot and if it was less it would be more manageable. The staff are nice with my loved one. If they had more staff it would be even more helpful but the number one thing is the cost.

Assisted living is not always what you expect and you do have to make adjustments sometimes. This is a nice place but not as much total freedom as you expect. They are very friendly and they do a nice job but the whole assisted living experience has been a transition. They have activities like games, singing, outside walks, people come in like entertainment for the residents and more for them to do.

The community and overall care they are giving our loved one has just been amazing, she is so happy there. We are absolutely tickled with our decision. The meals and dining service is excellent and they have a whole lot of activities. However we do know like everyone they have struggled with staffing so at times we were running into issues with the billing department and actually paying our bills. The lack of return calls was difficult but we believed they were able to get that under control.

My parent loves sunrise at mount vernon, they only wish that activities was more involved, not a coloring book or watching a movie, the activities director is so involved in her phone and obviously her personal life, very disappointed in her.

The place is clean, they seem to be well engaged with the residents. Their communication is non existent. Cant even say horrible. They don't return emails or calls regarding questions over care of your loved one. The billing emails answer me right away. Other than the that it seems like a great place. They promise you the world when you go in and then once their you are left on your own.

The facility was beautiful, the person doing the tour was very knowledgeable. It wasn't a good fit for my loved one.

I went with Lakewood Estates because of the friendliness of their staff members that I met during the tour. The apartment sizes are ok for what I need. It is multi -level and it has ramps between the floors except for the top one and the bottom one. They have an elevator for those floors so it is easier to get around. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

Food is bad. Sometimes too spicy. Sometimes not enough to eat. Sometimes all my aunt gets for dinner is a grilled cheese sandwich. Please hire a cook that knows what old people need.
