I find the staff very helpful. There are a few things I'm not happy with. Overall I'm very happy here.

Overall, the experience for my dad has been positive in the sense that he well cared for and they do look after him. Understanding the high cost of full-time care I would say we're getting a good value for our money.

Mom has been in residence since January 2024. She has experienced some Challenges and has declined in State. The staff in reminiscence has adapted to her changing needs and treat her with respect and dignity despite her outbursts. We are grateful for each and everyone of them.

Lots to do, great staff, beautiful facilities. She's in independent living so I can't comment on other parts of the facility. Having some specialist doctors onsite periodically is helpful and convenient. I would definitely recommend The Fairfax to anyone looking.

I think they generally have a very good facility for senior living, but I would appreciate a more proactive approach from their staff. I am concerned that the staff has not been able to keep a "wandering" resident from frequent and intrusive visits to my mother's room in their memory care unit. My loved ones have seemed very content since their move here.

The building is nice but they are always short staffed and management doesn't seem to want to jump in and help. Things that she is paying for as part of her rent are not getting done such as they were short a housekeeper so my mother went 3 weeks without housekeeping or having her trash removed and they have been down to a single server in the dining room so service has taken hour to get everyone their dinner and last night she gave up waiting so I had to take her some food for dinner.

I have no complaints. Place was great for what my parents needed. The negative was the billing. The facility had a promotion for the months of April & May, the 2 months my parents were there. The final invoice had Noether of these promotions taken into consideration, so after 2 months of calling and asking to adjust the invoices, they finally were. I am 99% sure that if I had not asked about the promotions I would have never received them

Very nice facility. The workers were great and were nice. We got lucky and a room big enough for both of my parents was avail for a short term stay. The final invoicing took a few months to figure out, the facility had a promotion for the months of April & May, the exact 2 months my parents were there, but accounting did not take this into consideration, so we had to go back and figure out the final numbers. Come to find out I over paid 1 months, so I got a refund 2 months later.

My husband was there for 2 weeks respite. The bed provided was not adequate. He is a large man and a hospital bed would have been preferred. They did not encourage him to use his walker and instead used a lift to move him. After 2 weeks of being there he could no longer stand or walk. In our specific case I would not recommend the community for a respite stay. In addition I had a lot of paperwork to complete. A TB test and Covid test were required. Lots of hoops to go thru which was very stressful.

I can't say it was a great experience, it was actually a sad experience but the Bertram house made it tolerable and based on the experience we did have we would recommend this community to other families.

The director of sales worked wonderfully with me and the hospital social worker/case worker to make sure my loved one qualified and would fit in at Sunrise of Overland Park. The ladies in the health room have worked with me to make sure her medications and insurance are covered and working in her best interests! Care managers seem to be on top of it. Over all it has been a good experience so far.

The facility is very clean. Staff has been friendly. There's always activities for residents.

Facility is very clean, they host a lovely brunch for residents and their families (there is a fee), food is hit or miss, daily activities like bingo, crafts etc offered

I would say the experience has changed since construction started and hold off until it's finished.

I have been very happy with the attention that my Uncle has been getting. They are working through getting to know him and his peculiarities. I feel as though he is getting the attention that he needs and is in a positive environment.

This is a home where I feel my father is very at home and can be part of a community. Staff generally seems to care and I know he is being fed and looked at regularly.

Wonderful staff but always short-handed. I am sure all of these facilities have this problem. I would recommend them to others looking.

We love the kind and caring staff and the residents are also very friendly. I wish they had a physical therapy dedicated room/gym. My dad required intense PT and they dont have the equipment. My dad needed to re-learn how to walk up and down stairs and there were no PT stairs. He was taken outside to practice going up/down a single curb step. We decided to take him to outpatient PT. This was perfect but there was no transportation by Sunrise so I needed to wait until he could get into my car. Another downside was that once he no longer did PT in Sunrise, Bayada nurses (contracted) would not do his wound care. The staff nurse (very nice) trained family members to do it. I dont understand why PT, OT, and wound care are all connected. When we were given the tour, we asked several times how long it would take for a person to arrive when a resident pushed their button. We were told 4-7 min. This was not the case; sometimes 30+ min. Despite the hickups we feel we chose correctly.

The move in was a little confusing I feel like they could have done a little better job showing my mom around and explaining how things worked. Within a little over 1 month of her moving in they had a change in ownership from Aspired Living to Sunrise. So that has also caused some confusion. My mom seems happy though she has acclimated very well and joined in all the activities and barely spends any time in her apt. One disappointment is they told us that they do outings to local places there is a bus in the parking lot but the driver quit and they have not replaced him. It would be nice especially while the weather is nice if they can get out. Sunrise promised to make that a priority as many people were complaining about that. All and all it was a very good move for my mom she seems happy and has made friends already I don't think she realized how lonely she was.

We believe sunrise is providing very good care for my mother. It's very difficult to provide excellent care to meet everyone's criteria but they have overall excellent staff that wants all of the residents to feel at home and to feel respected. There is a wide variety of food and activities to meet diverse personalities
