Sunrise Senior Living

My mother moved into Sunrise as she had just become a widow and has dementia. I needed her near me but also needed her cared for. I couldn’t be happier with our decision! My mom is SO happy and is busy all day long doing things to keep her mind and body active . She doesn’t have to worry about things like cooking, cleaning, taking her meds, and doing her laundry. Staff are respectful and caring and made my mom feel at home. They communicate with me all the time with how she is doing. I really feel like Sunrise is a blessing to us and they are our new second family.

What stood out the most was the concern they had for my sister when she was failing. The room she had was great. It had a huge window you didn't feel closed in.

Since moving into Sunrise of Buffalo Grove, my 105 year-old father has made new friends, put on a few healthy pounds, improved his word puzzle skills, and received outstanding care from the staff. My wife and I sleep well, knowing he is safe and secure, receiving a level of care that we simply could not provide. He now has a new home.

It is expensive but we would definitely recommend the community to other families. They are friendly, helpful and professional.

The only problem I have had was some miscommunication. When matters I was confused about were brought to the attention of the pertinent parties/department, they were immediately addressed so I could understand. Basically my husband and I are very satisfied with his care and attention. There is a lot of love and compassion given to all of the residents. The facilities are well maintained and homey. The food is good. Overall I feel the staff is very flexible in dealing with each residents personality and foibles. Good choice.

The staff here maintains a positive attitude and truly cares about the residents. My father is comfortable and happy - there is always someone for him to talk with, whether residents or staff. It has been such a relief for us to know he is in good hands.

My friend was in serious trouble. It was urgent to get her safe and medicated. Sunrise Silas Burke House was very fast to get her professionally evaluated, and accepted into the facility. As I recall, it was much less than a week. All employees have been helpful and considerate. The staff in the memory unit is superb, caring and professional. There have been some hiccups with medication but that’s not the fault of Sunrise. Sunrise has worked with me to get the RX situation resolved. I am very pleased with her care. Highly recommend Sunrise Silas Burke House.

What we like the most about Sunrise of East Meadow is the friendly staff and how it is easy to ask questions. We also like the group activities. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.

The residents were helpful in welcoming mom to all activities including meals and made mom feel welcome right away.

A 5 in every area. Pricey but necessary. The family feel of the staff, the continual care and concern for the residents that I witnessed. And the comfort my mother felt while residing there. This was the best choice for myself and my family.

Without question, a 5 on all of them! For my mom, their PT staff really helped her rehab from surgery and other physical issues. The community organizes many celebrations and events that residents can participate in, should they wish to do so.

Most of the Caregivers seem very dedicated to the well-being of the residents. The Executive Director is extremely accessible and responsive. The nurses seem very attentive and competent. The community offers good food in a pleasant, restaurant- style setting. The facilities are clean, welcoming and modern.

Staff are extremely kind and courteous. They care deeply about the residents. Facility is beautiful. Lots of sun and decorations. It was expensive but worth it.

Quality of care and friendliness of staff is what we like the most about the community. They really care about the tenants. They see and support each individual where they are in this phase of life and encourage growth. All of the tenants are moving about the whole home (encouraged to do so)... "it's their home". Tenants are clean and well kept... special hair dos... (braided sometimes flowers or bows in hair), clean clothes, manicured nails. Rooms and clothing are kept consistently tidy. The nursing staff is always willing to help.

The staff is well trained. Every conversation with the staff showed that the person assisting you is caring. I was impressed the smell of baking cookies! The feeling of a happy place is the vibe. Definitely look here.

The staff is very nice the place is very clean they really care about there people, they do lots of activities. I would recommend to others.

There are some wonderful people who work here and care an awful lot about the individuals they serve. From front line staff to leadership/management, the staff are incredibly compassionate and kind.

It was truly a pleasure to see how engaged leadership was in the care planning and long-term management of my loved one’s needs. Not only that, the facility itself was so unique and well kept that it made way more homely than I could have imagined. This is not your typical nursing home and I mean it in the best way possible!!
