Sunrise Senior Living

We went with Sunrise of Crestwood because the location was close to me and also the value for the money. The director of sales gave us a 50% discount off of the community fee. The activities are a little more basic here than some of the other places I visited, but they are perfect for her. The staff are very welcoming to family members to come visit and they are responsive to concerns you may have when you bring them up. I would recommend this facility to others looking.

The tour was fine, helpful and we just went with another community because it just gave us that feeling that we needed.

I would recommend it. The people are friendly. They're good to my mother. All the staff members are excellent - I haven't met a single mean one. She has a whole group of friends she made within the first week and a half she was there. The food has gotten better over time. They have good activities, and she always has something to do. It's expensive, but she's happy there. And we as her children have peace of mind regarding her care.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good tour but location wise it was just not going to be a good fit

My mom has enjoyed her stay there after a surgery and wouldn't mind returning in the future if she needs to. We've had no issues with any of the nurses, the care, or the administrative staff. They're not perfect by any means, but are much improved over some of the other places she has experienced. Her room is adequate for what her needs are, and it's clean. And she enjoys the food overall.

I had to place my loved one quickly due to a health limitation of mine. [name removed], the director of sales, took care of everything for me. I explained things as best I could, but I couldn't come in due to my health. She had a nurse come to my house, and they really bent over backwards to help us out. Other places I called wouldn't even send me paperwork, let alone send someone to my house. I was very happy sending my husband there in my situation. And since then, I have been able to go and visit him. It's a safe place, and cleanliness is above and beyond. It's also extremely quiet. They provide well above the minimum care for him. When there's a problem, they call. They let me know when he's not feeling well. Meds are passed out carefully. The people at the front desk were great about checking people in during Covid times, and they are very good about answering any questions you might have. They put up beautiful decorations around the holidays. And they have entertainment that comes in sometimes. They have meals that you can partake of with your loved one. With everything you have to pay for, I do wish they would give you basic cable. And I noticed a few little things go missing sometimes, but I understand that's common in memory care facilities. With Covid staffing shortages, we had some challenges with assisted bathing, but now that staffing is back up, everything is going smoothly. My suggestion is to overlook the small things and look at the bigger picture. All in all it's a great place. It's very expensive, but then they all are. I appreciate how careful they've been during Covid times and the good protocols they have in place. Letters/emails were sent out to let us know Covid updates, including current staff/resident cases. They also allow pets, which was good. And visitor parking is superb.

This community is not the fanciest but it has a really warm atmosphere. The staff really look out for the residents here also. Right now they are having a little bit of a staffing issue just like everyone else but it only slows down a few things. They have activities like trips to the casino and more for the residents to do. They also have work out classes that my loved one attends all of the time and really enjoys them. This community has a big kitchen and we liked it a lot.

I had a nice tour at The Quadrangle. The people were very nice, and the place was nice, although the apartments were on the small side.

We chose Sunrise at Silas Burke House over others we looked at because it was very close to me and when I checked them out I was very impressed with the staff, how it looked, and just the overall energy of the place. A lot of people do not know this, but it is a pet friendly facility. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

The room they had available at the time was small.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a very good tour, it was our second choice. However after looking at other facilities, when we came here, it just did not seem to have that big friendly happier atmosphere, the residents did not seem the most happy or engaged.

We chose Sunrise of Buffalo Grove because of the feeling that we got when we first walked in. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and it was smaller than most facilities we looked at which my mother in law liked. If you want a smaller, more cozy place, this is the place to be. I would recommend them to others looking.

They have two parts, assisted living and memory care, which are totally different units. My mother is in the memory care unit, and I would highly recommend the facility, especially compared to another place we've experienced. They keep a pretty stable staff, and that's very important. If the staff is always brand new, that's an indication of issues. But they're pretty constant, which I appreciate. And they've been very good for our family.

All the staff is extremely friendly. The administrators are always open to getting questions, whether it be via email or voicemail. The Executive Director is lovely. She's there at all hours of the day and night and is involved in hands-on care. The aides have all been extremely friendly, and they don't lose their patience. I know my mother can be a difficult person to care for, and they always come in and greet her by name with a smile, and they never get upset with her, which has been great.

The location of the facility is great for family so we are able to visit often. The staff are very friendly and he really likes the woman who comes into clean the apartment. His apartment is comfortable, clean, and new. One thing he has brought up is that the dining room staff members do not seem very happy with their jobs. Overall things are going a lot better than anticipated.

My loved one was having a wonderful experience here and enjoying all of the amenities but then the pandemic hit which made it hard for him. I think it is a great place and I would highly recommend to others.

I toured here when everything was pretty much still on lockdown. I thought the woman who showed me around was very helpful. Since there wasn't anything else available to show, she gave a tour of her own apartment, which I thought was neat. It was nice enough - I just didn’t like the layout. 4.5

I would say that this community is a really good place that I would highly recommend. For anyone that is looking for their parent to be in a safe environment that is well maintained and has a strong support team and good communication with family members.
