Sunrise Senior Living

Enjoyed this community better than the one in Lenexa. Brighter interior, smaller number of residents - 60, 20 in memory care. Still close to home. I like the floor plans available. No exercise equipment. Would like to see a bicycle. Walking trail with gazzebo. Transportation to Walmart, etc. Movies, baseball games, etc. No transportation to doctor appts, etc.

This is a great place. It's beautiful, and everyone we spoke with was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We toured quite a few places looking into memory care, and this was the one that we selected in the end. The feature that really made it stand out was the 3 level system of the memory care, it was the only place we looked at that had it. Most locations had either a high or low level of care, but our loved one was in an in-between stage and this worked out perfectly for her.

friendly staff, gave a wonderful tour....residents all seemed active and engaged...no assisted living but has senior helpers... no PT program....will bring my dad back to check out...

This was a very nice looking community, but also very expensive. It was smaller than many we looked at, but I think if Mom ever needed memory care this would be the place we would go with. I feel like the residents get a lot of individual attention here. And they really went above and beyond helping me during the tour process. They set up meetings for me with many of their connections and resources, such as somone to help with VA benefits, etc. and wouldn't accept payment for all the help even when I offered.

We have had a good experience. The food is wonderful, I've even eaten there myself the food is great the dining room is great, she loves it. I have no complaints everybody from the front desk to the dining hall have been so great, there is nothing I can even complain about. I wouldn't mind living here. It's beautiful, it's clean and looks like a hotel. Natalie Schillner with A Place For Mom was just unbelievable, she is just the best and I just can't say enough about her. She was in constant contact with me.

It seems like the way that they manage the facility is really good. They do a good job with the residents, and my mom is really happy there. It was really tough to get her to feel comfortable, and they did an excellent job of it. They had a good special when we moved her in last Fall, so that helped with the cost. The only problem is that when she runs out of her own money, she wont be able to stay there anymore. They don't do any sort of Medicaid spend down, but most of the private places are like.

This has been a great place so far. Other than maybe needing a bit of refurbishing we really have no complaints. It wasn't our number one choice when we were searching, but it was located conveniently to our old home, and family members. It's a beautiful, clean facility, and the staff are absolutely amazing. I provide most of the care for my wife, but the support they do provide has been great. And there are almost TOO many activities, I can barely keep track of them all! I would recommend checking this place out, regardless of care needs. It's an absolutely wonderful place, and they're very flexible about working with different levels of care.

Berry is a very nice person and the facility is awesome. But it was too large for my moms needs. I would recommend this facility for anyone looking for a larger facility. It was great

Sunrise recommended by a friend's daughter living in the area and working in the industry. It is very nicely appointed, clean and pleasant with a very nice staff. We were however misled regarding medical care services. There is a RN on staff & we understood that a medical group (Ideal) had doctors on call & doing routine check ups & would provide a PCP for my mother who we moved from another state. It turns out IDEAL is a Nurse Practitioner Group & we are going to have to set her up with a PCP. Had we known this, we would have done that before we left MA. This was clarified only after I sent a few emails trying to get the name of her PCP. The staff is friendly and my Mom has settled in and likes the facility, so moving her would be too traumatic. Things are a little harder to manage from a distance than we anticipated, & I am beginning to wonder if we should have moved her to our home state. If we lived locally it would not be as much an issue & there might be fewer miscommunications.

Hi Barbara, I enjoyed the tour yesterday. I learned a lot. It is going to be a drastic change of lifestyle for my dad & his wife. I plan to see my father next week and will bring up the tour with him.

This place is brand new, and it's a beautiful facility. The staff are very friendly, and it's got a personal small family atmosphere. There are a few areas they could improve on, however. The activities aren't very stimulating, I feel like they could improve on both quality and quantity. The housekeeping service could also use improvement.

My mother has been in the dementia area of Sunrise Newtown Square for 8 months. The staff is very loving to all of the residents. The environment is quite lovely and very homey. There is a dog for the home and the residents certainly enjoy him. The entertainment is good and there are a variety of activities. There is a variety to the meals served and I have seen the staff be very accommodating to the resident's needs. The staff is what sets this place apart from others we toured.

This location was too far to be an options when I was looking for places for my Mom, but a friend has her mother here and she absolutely raves about it. She's got nothing but good things to say about it, the care is great, the staff are amazing, and her Mom is doing well here. She really couldn't be happier!

My mom moved in to a Villa in December 2013. The people have not only been extremely nice but also very helpful. They have made my moms transition a very good one. Anyone who has a elderly mom or dad knows making them happy does not always come easy, This has also taken a lot of responsibility off of me so I can again focus on my family. Thank You The Park at Olympia Fields!

So far we're very pleased with this community. The staff have all been very friendly, and it is a nice looking, clean facility. I really like the layout of the community, it feel very homey, no long hospital-like hallways. One of our relatives is a visiting nurse and she gave this place the thumbs up when we were selecting it!

This place was brand new when we toured it, some of the areas were not even open for move-ins yet. It looked very very nice, and the staff who gave the tour were friendly, but we were reluctant to put our loved one somewhere so new, since we didn't get a real chance to see how they'd operate with residents around.

They've pretty well got it down pat.

We're very happy all around with all aspects of this community. It's a very appealing looking place, and has a nice homey atmosphere. It's a smaller community, and Mom is having an easy time socializing. The staff are very involved with the residents, if they don't see Mom at an activity they'll go make sure she knows it is going on and ask if she'd like to attend. All of the staff just seem very genuine and friendly, and they are warm and welcoming to residents and family members alike.

From the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by Brittany, everyone is always so pleasant, residents and staff alike. I have a loved one on the Clare Bridge Memory Unit, and it makes me feel so good going home to know that such kind and caring staff care for them. From Crystal the Activity Director, to Nancy, Kay, and all the aides, and espically Justin one of the most caring, kind, compassionate nurses that you will ever meet in your enitre life. My family and I toured a lot of places, and we can not agree more that the place for our family is with our new family at The Solana. If your considering checking it out, do yourselve and your loved ones a huge favor and do!

Excellent! The whole family loves them. A's across the board, but I'll give them a C for letting people leave. They will let us take her out to visit, but they even let them go overnight. The whole family is very well pleased. We had brunch around Thanksgiving, it wasn't bad, infact it was good. They do have a lot of activities for her and she is starting to participate now. The beds are not alarmed, but it's assisted living so you are supposed to be able to get out of bed on your own. They do not take Medicaid.
