Sunrise Senior Living

I am very very pleased with this community, it's very clean and the staff is friendly. I don't personally participate in many of the activities but those that do seem to enjoy them. However, I have to say that the food isn't the greatest, lots of room to improve there. I'm quite happy. It's a good location for me, it is easy for my friend to get to. I'd really recommend it.

Very nice! We didn't choose this community only because they didn't have a spot on the memory unit only on the Alzheimers unit and they said that they would move her to the memory group during the day. We thought that would be difficult for her moving from one group to another and we thought it was to large for that. But overall we were very impressed.

Friendly, respectful, kind staff here knew residents by name and residents were involved in various tasks (chosen by themselves) to be useful and occupied. Lovely decor and warm, inviting atmosphere.I was treated as a potential family member, not a repository of funds.

Very accommodating in terms of seeking our commitment, provided 4 pieces of beautiful furniture for the unit even though their units are typically unfurnished. They were also very accommodating with my schedule, they were very good about working with me even though I am out of state. However, we negotiated one price that was supposed to last a year, but the price already went up, currently negotiating with them. The price problems seem to be from the corporate end, not with the staff of this facility.

We loved it, and took my husband's parents there. We just thought that it would be perfect, but it didn't have the memory care unit suitable for his mom. What struck me was the activities planned for evenings and afternoons. We loved the set up, it was like living in high rise apartments. The building looked like it was a country club. It was very civilized; the dining room had cloth table clothes and cloth napkins. It was clean and gave the appearance that you are living well. They did have good activities for memory care, but when the residents begin to wander, then they have to be moved. They don't have a locked down unit.

Sunrise has a warm welcoming environment; helpful, caring staff in all areas; well cared for facility; and reasonable cost for the Washington Metro area. Our mother has been very satisfied with her care givers and the other residents. She also is enjoying the food and activities. We have been very satisfied with the communication with the staff and their experience with the care of the elderly. We would not hesitate to recommend Sunrise to others.

Everyone is very nice and friendly and my 88 year old mother with advanced dementia has made a nice transition to her new environment.

Excellent and probably our first option ..

Overall I think that it is a great place. Do a good job and try pretty hard. My grandma really likes it. She is independent with a couple extra services. Three meals a day are offered with the price of the rent, but she has a small kitchenette. She doesn't have a stove. The apartments at Sunrise were the largest and nicest of the ones that we viewed, and we felt like she would be the happiest here. They have a lot of activities: singing, coffee hour, a trip once a week to a store, movies, cards, games and crafts.

I'm very happy with them. I'm happy about the care that she receiving. She's getting her meals and medications and I like the social activities that they have for her too. I was just there today and they had a gentleman there playing music from the 30s and 40s. She was enjoying herself and having a great time! The couple meals I've had there have been very good and she said she likes their food too. Her adjustment is still going because she's only been there for about two months but right now everything is great. She's not in the memory center yet. She's in the assisted living and I think that they've handled it very well so far. The price was within her means and the location is right in between me and her daughter-in-law who visits a lot.

Mom's not happy but she's getting good care. It's very expensive but she's getting a lot of services. She's in the Circle of Friends, the dementia care program. The only thing is that the communication sometimes isn't great. My sister has to make numerous calls as far as reaching the nurses if something needs to be done with mom's medication. Otherwise we're very happy with Belmont Village. In the Circle of Friends they're in class from 9-5. It's broken into 40 minute sections. In the morning they'll learn about something like the history of baseball for example. Then they'll have a snack, then an activity relating to baseball. After that they'll have lunch then they'll com back and have another activity like a craft relating to baseball so they have one theme set for each day. The program is set up 7 days a week. It's an awesome program! You have to test into it. Mom used to be in the lock down because her scores were too low but now that she's getting her proper medication she's doing better.

It was quite exemplary. All wonderful. They have very high standards for care and the building was beautiful. They also had great security.

I loved that, in fact it was too nice for my mother it was so nice. It was elegant. I liked it the best because of the sales manager, Lindsay, she and I bonded really well. She introduced me to everybody who assisted with every facet of care. Even the chef, who was an amazing gourmet chef. Food plans and menus every day. I would move here just for the menus! It was that good. The facility looked like a three story Victorian house. Very beautiful with a big wrap around porch. Recessed so far back from the road and so surrounded by trees. Very peaceful. For my mother, if she would have been in her right mind, and had we had enough money, it would have been amazing. More of their patients were a younger demographic. 60's and 70's. My mother was almost 93. She was in diapers. She would have been on the third floor locked down dementia unit, so she wouldn't have gotten to enjoy anything about the place.

Very nice facility. Clean, well maintained. The resident rooms were very nice and the living areas were very nice and there were many throughout the facility. Staff was friendly. Dining room was impressive. The location of the facility was very nice. Quiet neighborhood.

Liked this place and will have my wife checked in---seamed to be a great staff that knows what they are doing. When the time comes (in the next week or so) they will go to the hospital in Boston and pick her up and take her to Plymouth!!!

Both of my parents currently live here. It is fabulous. They handle everything. It has been a five across the board. Reminiscence care at Pinehurst is great. My dad is an outdoor person, and they have a huge outdoor courtyard that he can go in anytime of the day or night. There is an alarm so they know that he is outside, but they let him walk laps so he feels free. They allowed him to bring his therapy dog, which was very important to us. The director is really, really good, and has been there for a long time. We've also noticed that more of the caretakers speak English as a first language, which was a problem before because my dad is hard of hearing.

The care is very nice and I would give the friendliness a 10 if I could! My sister is there and they have outings and they have jewelry making and things like that. The food is wonderful - I'd give that a 10 too.

It's amazing! If I had to compare it to other places that I have looked at, I would say the value is good. It all depends on the services your family member is getting so what I'm paying for my mom may not be what you would pay. It all depends on the level of care. I think the care is very good. I'm not there to see it and my mother has some dementia and I'm thinking that any confusion that has happened is due to that. The activities could use some improvement. I think they should offer a few more outings and maybe some games other than bingo. I think their arts and crafts could be enhanced. They could offer some very simplistic things like they're doing but possibly they could have some things that aren't quite as simplistic. The staff are just absolutely wonderful people. They are genuinely caring. It's really an amazing place and I'm so thankful we found that place!

Very nice! Nice people, nice food, nice apartment! They have bingo and right now they have a group playing music about the army and the navy. I live in the independent portion. I have a small kitchen but I don't use it because the food is included, and it is great food. I chose this community because it's only five minutes from my granddaughter, but it was a great choice.

I liked them very much but they were a little expensive. It's felt like home. It was very cozy and everybody was familiar with everyone else. You could tell it was pretty friendly. They had a lot of really nice rooms, like a movie room and there were puzzles everywhere. It just felt really comfy and familiar.
