Sunrise Senior Living

We were as happy as could be with it. I know that both my wife and her sister were very pleased with it. I thought it was great, we've said that if we ever have to go into a place where we can't take care of ourselves anymore, that would be our first choice. My wife had gone and visited some of her aunts in a different facility and this was like night and day. If her mother called, there was somebody there immediately, we were just so happy with it. The unfortunate thing is that she wasn't really in a condition where she could enjoy being there, she went into hospice right away and wasn't eating. The meals were great, the first day she was in there we were invited to join them for lunch and the food was outstanding, we can't say enough about it. It made a great first impression and it didn't change the whole time she was there. The people that took care of her, they almost became like family, they almost treat it like it's not a job. If other people are looking for a place, this would certainly be first on our list.

The apartments were large and the people friendly. There were lots of little 'nooks' where people could talk or watch TV. It was my favorite place I toured.

I think everything is great, there's something going on all the time. We just liked that it was clean and kind of roomy and the room she had she really really liked. We just really liked the appearance of it and I had a friend whose mother was here and they just loved it. The first couple of weeks they said they would have somebody there to help her go to lunch and meals and I don't know whether she didn't realize that the people that were helping her were supposed to be or what. One thing that's pretty neat is one of the managers, whenever he sees her calls her by her name and she really likes it. They try to make it personal for her.

From what I know, the activites are good, getting my mom to particiapte is another thing. I think it doesn't matter where she is, she would still feel the same way. She's only been there coming on a couple of months and I don't see any problems so far, you get a lot for your money.

Good location and Secure community. I like the varied options and knowing my Mother will be safe there. Still looking since this is privat pay want to be sure we are ready for the costs.

The staff is definitely a five, the care is incredible, the facility is very well done. It's homey, it makes people feel comfortable, the staff is very involved, they know everybody, they're unbelievably well trained. I had the unfortunate opportunity to be there when one of the residents had put something in the microwave and forgot about it. the microwave blew up and there was a small fire, but the way the staff responded, before the fire department even got there, they got everyone cleared out of that wing in minutes and out to fresh air. They have a wide range of activities, the bingo, people that come in, little things that, believe it or not, my grandmother loves. To be perfectly honest, on an emotional level, I would prefer her to be at home, but this is a close second. From an intellectual respect, this place is better than her home because this place provides the social stimulation she wouldn't get at home, the security and the care she needs.

I'ts very clean, the staff is friendly, they're fine with me. The had a really, really good memory unit and they have a big garden because she likes to walk and it's completely enclosed.

This was fantastic, excellent but much more expensive. They were terrific, we loved them and they were amazing but my mom is fairly young and we felt that with the assets we know her to have currently, she was going to outlive her assets at Sunrise. It was and they are wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone who has deep pockets, they were great.

This palce was wonderful! This particular Sunrise has a floor that is just for dementia type patients. The only reason we took her out (because this place was great!) was money, they were very expensive. My mother was better off here because she could walk the floors and talk to people, she's physically very healthy. It was excellent and we just couldn't afford it anymore so we had to move her.

This was the Taj Mahal of assisted livings, it just wasn't my mom. I'm sure for a lot of people that's how they're used to living but my mother grew up on a farm and it just wasn't the right feel for her. We toured it, had a good conversation with them, it's a beautiful facility, nice staff, just not the right feel.

Recently assisted my widowed friend in starting a new life. Bonnie at A PlaceFor Mom arranged for me to check out Sunrise. We moved my friend there directly from UCLS Hospitle five weeks ago and she has now sold her condo and started her new life at Sunrise. Bravo for the management and staff. This is a life changing experience due to them.

From what we have seen, and we've seen a number of assisted living facilities, it seems to be very clean, the staff that we've encountered appear to be very friendly. The care is very good, just because of my mother in law's condition or situation, we have hired supplementary care just because of her dementia and out wish to be able to maintain her independence for as long as we possibly can. I think they do very well in maintaining a comfortable environment for the individuals who are living there, it's an attractive place, I think it's well laid out. I do think however that their activities probably could be diversified a little. I would like to see more activities that engage in either recalling things from the past or historical facts or word games but kind of geared at a slightly less complex level than what they have now.

The service at Sunrise in Willowbrook has met or exceeded every expectation. The staff is friendly and attentive. Their care for the residents is top notch. The fellow residents are very nice people. All of this creates a very nice sense of community while being respectful of privacy.

My parents are very happy here, the staff is what they like the most about it. THey go to the movies, the church groups and my dad has a therapist that they have on site that comes up and works with him. They really like the food. Improve [removed] Thier billing initially takes a while to get situated, they didn't charge my mother as a second person for 3 months so you get low bills and then really big ones, so getting that streamlined from the beginning would be nice, but it all worked out in the end. There's also limited parking, so for visiting, if you pay the amount then the person can reserve a sport but since they don't drive we didn't get them parking. So it's difficult but there's a park across the way where you can park and then just walk over.

They're a 5 plus! Everyone is different, everyone is a different case, but the way they treated everything as a whole, with my brother and my sister, they worked with all of us and they gave a real nice personal touch with everything. Any personal issues or problems that arose they worked towards our common goal to fix it. We're very happy, the care is excellent. What I really appreciate is the attentiveness to each resident so somebody looks on my dad everyday and I love that. My dad has never felt alone, we feel confident that he's safe and I just can't say enough good things about this community, and it really is a community. That's how it feels at sunrise, it's very homey and not sterile. For the personal attention they have my dad, it felt like a new home, it wasn't institutional, it was a new chapter in his life instead of the end of it.

I can tell you things are going good, they're really good people.

Very, very nice place. Nice location. Lot of activites that my mom would enjoy in the independent living section. This place is still on our list of possibilities.

My mother is really enjoying Sunrise at River Road. She is involved in the exercise classes, meals, and has seen some concerts there
