Sunrise Senior Living

I loved very much touring Sunrise senior living. This is a wonderful place for mom. I am still in the deciding mode but this would be a place I would choose.

Our second visit was at Huntington Commons. We were graciously greeted by the receptionist. Kim Weiner was notified and promptly came down to meet us. We were offered a beverage which we politely declined. The interview was very relaxed and informative. Kim seemed really interested in us and what our needs and desires were. She showed us several apartments with different floor plans, a cottage, which we very much liked. I am still bothered by the fact there is no 'Buy-In'. I am yet to be convinced about renting. We did meet a few staff members who were pleasant and helpful . the residents we met appeared happy and content.

The whole staff has made this difficult time a little easier. We are very happy with our decision.

They are absolutely the best! They've exceeded our every expectation and we couldn't be happier with the place. All their attention is focused on keeping their residents safe and happy, and they also do a great job keeping the families updated on their loved ones situations.

My mother spent 3 weeks for respite care so that my family and I could go away for a much needed vacation. I was very pleased with the care she received in the first floor assisted living area. The staff was personable, compassionate and caring. My mother thrived in the new surroundings, her visitors were welcomed and everything possible was done to ensure her happiness and to put my mind as ease while we were away. I would definitely use their services again.

Toni was extremely knowledgeable in her field. She was caring and very focused on what would be good for mom. Toni is sending someone to evaluate mom even though she knows we may not choose her place. She wants us to know precisely what we are looking for in a care home. I was impressed with what they do with activities even on a Sat. The residents were engaged and happy. Location may be the only hold up for us with this one.

Everything is going well. We liked the cleanliness a lot, they seemed to be the cleanest place we saw, it's one reason we chose them. The staff is friendly, and attentive. They have plenty of activities. There really haven't been any complaints about the food, or anything else.

On the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff on a scale of one to five, I’d give them a ten plus!. They are just super! They just have excellent care and service. Sometimes I wish I could cook as well as they do!

Great family atmosphere and price is very reasonable.

They’re a great place, with caring and compassionate staff. The parking was very limited – for residents only. They have nice outside areas with a good ambiance. The food was very good. We recommend it.

My loved ones haven’t been there very long. My mother seems to enjoy the activities. It’s all on one level. It’s easier for elderly get around without elevators and such. The food is excellent. The parking can be a little limited. It’s really great, small, and tightknit community.

Very friendly and sincere about the care provided. Food is outstanding. At times, cleaning personal space lacks supervision.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for our loved one. We were very impressed by what we saw here! It is a beautiful community, and the staff were all very friendly and professional. The tour was very nice, the staff all introduced themselves, and the meal we had was delicious! We would definitely recommend them to any families looking into care options!

our mother had pretty advanced alzheimers. she had been at home for the years of her decline...with round the clock care. we worried about moving her and waited until we were confident that she would not really realize she was . of course, as soon as she moved to sunrise, we wondered why we hadn't done it earlier. my siblings and i felt so secure and confident with the staff there. they were completely responsive to anything we said about our mother and appeared to truly care about her. after all of those years at home, we really believe that her quality of life was better at sunrise. she was around other people and always very well attended to. i cannot say enough good things about our experience there and would be very happy to talk to anyone who is thinking of placing a loved one at sunrise.

Sunrise of Willowbrook has been home to my parents for almost 2 years now and I can't say enough about how great it is. We lost my dad to Alzheimer's a few months ago, but my mom is still a resident there. Dad was able to remain there with excellent care until he passed and everyone was phenominal during that difficult time and supported our family, especially my mom. She has so many friends and activities which she loves and staff feel like family and go above and beyond for her. They have been able to meet her complex medical needs as well as her spiritual and emotional needs and work closely with us (her kids) to make her quality of life the best it can be. It is awesome that pets are welcome because they bring so much joy to my mom and the other residents. Finding Sunrise of Willowbrook was a true blessing for our family.

It all depends on who you get. At first we started out with a real young one who was only nineteen, but now we have an older caregiver and she is fantastic! They haven’t missed any appointments with us so far.

The main area is clean, but sometimes my loved one’s bathroom isn’t clean. They have a variety of activities that are appropriate for memory care patients. The only issue is that in relation to all memory care units, there are some residents that wander into other people’s rooms. It’s an excellent location, very well taken care of. All of your needs taken care of when they’re brought to management.

I didn't know the first thing about elder care options other than we could no longer safely care for my Mom in her home. Options included full/part-time home care, various levels of assisted living, and possibly eventual nursing care. Upon learning that A Place For Mom only referred "participating" providers and that those providers paid APFM for successful placements, I was skeptical about their recommendations. I visited several of the recommended providers as well as sites in our area that were not referred by APFM. Discussing my experiences with the APFM advisor, non-referred providers were clearly discouraged. They seemed to favor Sunrise Senior Living. It turned out that their focus on Sunrise was well founded. My visit to one Sunrise site raised my level of appreciation for their dedication to their residents. Several clandestine observations of caregivers interacting with residents convinced me that they have a skill in selecting and/or training their staff to be warm, kind, friendly and dedicated to the residents. Other observations included clean, safe, and appealing facilities that complemented the level of care. Out of convenience we chose the Paoli site which was equally well appointed and staffed. Mom would have preferred to finish out her life at home, but understood the absolute need for 24-hour care and assistance. She lived at Sunrise Paoli for a total of about 8 months before passing. During her time there, she required increasing levels of support which was promptly and proficiently given while maintaining a strong level of communication with me. Her increasing need for medical attention was well addressed and Sunrise provided assistance with the procurement of support equipment and eventual hospice care. I can only say that when Mom passed my grief was tempered by the reassuring feeling that I had served her well by selecting Sunrise Paoli and have nothing but good feelings about the care they provided her.
