Sunrise Senior Living

Although I’m the youngest person living here I don’t feel what I have to contribute is [name removed] is diminished. It’s a nice community of ladies and gentlemen. People move around if they wish to share meals with others but there are also longtime friends who share meals together.

My dad moved into Sunrise almost five months ago. It took him awhile to get used to being there, but he has settled in now. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and they decorate for the seasons and holidays. He isn’t too keen on some of the food choices for lunch and dinner, but he loves the breakfast!! All of his nursing care has been great and his health has improved some since being there. I wish we could keep the cost a bit lower, but hopefully he will need a bit less attention and that will happen.

I transferred my 85 year old husband from another facility as after he was told there was no value in him receiving any more physical therapy as his once brilliant mind and body were deteriorating rapidly. As an adult nurse practitioner, I had experience with the specific needs of patients of varying ages. After evaluating several options for my husband, regretably he was unable to return home, he was transferred to Brighton Gardens in Saddle River where he had a private room in the memory section. My husband received good care and kindness from the aides and circulating nurse who at one point recognized that he had pneumonia and had him transferred to the hospital for 2 days for antibiotics in IV fluids after which he returned to Brighten Gardens. He died peacefully there. I am grateful for the medical and personal attention he received.

Sunrise is a wonderful place. The staff is professional and compassionate ... we are extremely pleased with Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods ... and our mother is happy and safe !!!

After moms eight month hospitalization and the very sudden death of her husband, the staff at Sunrise could not have been more supportive or helpful in easing her transition to their facility. Mom has lovely caregivers who cannot do enough for her and check in on her multiple times per day sometimes just to say hi and see how she’s doing. She tells me daily that she just loves being there, and she never thought she would ever be happy living anywhere but at home. Her suite is homey and she has many of her special items with her. Mom is thriving and her mobility and strength has improved so much since living there. Mom has always had a very good memory and she has met others living there like herself. She loves doing some of the activities like the brain games and loves the baking program. The best part of all for me, is her being there lets me be her daughter still. I get to take her on outings, visit with her, and support her. There is always lots to do as a family member of a senior struggling with health issues, but knowing mom is happy and so well cared for is remarkable. There are no words to explain the feeling. We are grateful every day. They have helped turn an intolerable situation into a happy ending and we will always be thankful for that.

Our experience with Sunrise @ Glen Cove far exceeded our expectations. My mother in law was so sad about moving from her own home ( she lived in the same house for 66years) and our whole family was heartbroken but the move was necessary for her safety. We tried in home caregivers and found them to be unreliable and very expensive.She has been a resident for the past 9 months at Sunrise and she couldn’t be more content. She loves her caregivers.She has made many new friends and loves to participate in the activities. She feels like she is living in a 5 star hotel with fine dining. Our family loves to visit her at Sunrise because we can just relax and enjoy the visit without feeling sad or guilty. I really wish that we had found Sunrise sooner.

i cannot say enough about the Sunrise staff. They are kind, professional and caring, and take many extra steps for residents and families. Highly recommended for anyone considering senior assisted living,

Sunrise in Reston is so wonderful, I don't know where to begin! Although my brother is still settling in and has some dementia, he enjoys the folks he is meeting and values the independence available to him in assisted living. I have found the administrators both professional and warm enough to know them by their first names. Every single person, director, nurse or caretaker, cook or aide, has a smile and greeting for residents and visitors. I'm so grateful to have this caring community so close by so the rest of the family can share these years with my brother.

While a little on the high side re: monthly costs, the staff is excellent, the care is outstanding, the cleanliness is top notch, and the food is wonderful and varied. The daily and weekly activities are terrific, making certain there are things for each resident to enjoy daily. We are so glad we made this move!

I’ve never met a more caring compassionate group of people. Everyone from every department is very helpful and keeps you fully informed. The transition was very difficult for my mother because of her confusion. Someone sat with her every night until she felt less frightened and was able to sleep. My family is very grateful for such good care.

My parents are really enjoying living in Sunrise! My dad was in another care center by himself for over 2 years where he received the medical care he needed. Now that he is doing better and doesn't need the extra medical care, he and my mom are now back together in the independent section of Sunrise, enjoying their remaining years together in a place where they can enjoy a variety of activities, deliciously fresh food, comfortable accommodations, TOGETHER, all at a affordable price. It's wonderful!!

Sunrise of Bloomingdale is by far the most outstanding facility. Their management and staff are very friendly and provide the best care for my Dad. They have not only helped my father but myself as well with any questions or guidance needed. The food is fantastic as well. I'm am very pleased with this facility and would highly recommend them.

The staff at Sunrise of Overland Park strives for excellence. They communicate well, respond to any concerns right away, and provide what they promise. What I appreciate most is they work together to provide an above-average living experience of those in memory care. They get to know each resident, encouraging them - and having fun with them. The price I list reflects the fact that we purchased two rooms for her, not just one. I’m thrilled there is an excellent place for Mom not too far from me.

I someone would have told me about how WONDERFUL this place is, i would not have believed them. My darling wife is here in Reminiscence. The staff takes loving care of all the residents. How do i know. I virtually live here with my wife, three-to-five hours a day. I see the love that they have, the caring, the efforts that they put it. There are a lot of people in Reminiscence, and a dedicated stuff which do a lot to help the residents. There are activities adjusted for the residents. A sense of optimism, joy, dedication, holiness pervade this wonderful place. In all, i am thrilled that my darling is here. i am sad that life turned out this way, but eternally grateful to G-d that HE guided me here, and that i made the absolutely right decision. For those of you interested, i'm always available through the organization to share my experiences.

My mom has been at Sunrise for 7 months and it was an excellent decision for her to move there. The staff is so warm and personable, she is always freshly bathed, dressed in a coordinated outfit (including jewelry), and her room is spotless. The bistro is stocked with coffee, cold drinks, and freshly baked goods, and the other residents and their relatives are a pleasure to visit. My mom enjoys the activities and trips to restaurants and the theater. The doctors, nursing staff, and care givers communicate any changes or questions. In addition, holidays like Mother’s Day and Thanksgiving are always celebrated with wonderful, festive parties where they have balloons, live entertainment, and food and drinks. It has been an extremely positive experience for the whole family, and we feel extremely grateful to have found Sunrise!

My friend, 78 has settled in 5 months now. Of course there is an adjustment period, after her leaving her home of 35 years. After a while, a new routine takes over, friends are made and activities keep life in Bedford Court a joy. Visitors are welcome. The mall out front has everything needed and the professional building houses doctors offices. Buses take her every where. No need for a car anymore. Having someone to look after her everyday, feed her restaurant style food in a dining room and concierge for daily needs reflect a wonderful and safe atmosphere for its tenants. When she needs nursing or assistance, they have a plan in another building.

My mother has lived at Stratford Court for nearly six years and I cannot say enough positive things about this very special place. Although the facility itself is comfortable, well maintained, and meticulous, it’s the staff that impresses me. I am an only child and live in New England, and the staff has been there for my mother through two broken hips, pneumonia, and assorted falls. The Resident Services Coordinator, Dining Room Director and staff, front desk staff, on site health professionals, custodial staff, and everyone else I’ve met has consistently gone above and beyond to help my mom in both large and small ways. They’ve made us feel as though her wish is their command and that nothing either of us ask is ever an imposition. I am so grateful for Stratford and its incredible staff, who are an extended family for all those lucky enough to be residents.
