Sunrise Senior Living

My father moved into Sunrise at Bedford Court in August 2018 after losing his wife of nearly 64 years. They had lived in NC for 40 years and my sister and I wanted him to be near us in MD. He is very comfortable there and has made new friends. Since he is a recent widower, it was important for him to be close to his family and to make new friends so that he has a sense of community. The meals are very good and the service by the dining room staff is always friendly and helpful. My father is getting to know which of the many activities offered to residents that he wants to participate in. He takes advantage of some specialty doctors at Bedford Court and also takes the shuttle bus available to different locations. His apartment is kept very clean by the housekeeping staff and they make sure he is comfortable and happy.

We were looking for a place to transition my husbands 87 year old Uncle to when he decided living in his home of 54 years had become too lonely. His wife had passed six years earlier and he and his small 13 year old dog fit in perfectly. A first floor one bedroom unit with a doggiy door and small yard area was about to open up. He had nice friendly ambassadors who would come by at meal time to walk with him down to the dining hall and join him for meals. He quickly met lots of the residents. The bingo, root beer float gatherings and Thursday outings are some of his favorite things. The staff at Sugar Valley have been so attentive and helpful with his transition. We highly recommend Sugar Valley.

I've had loved ones in several assisted living facilities and I have to say that Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem is superior in the industry. They really strive to meet the needs of all residents and have one of the most caring staffs. I think because they are part of a much larger organization, they have to answer to guidelines and have more structure.

When the time came to move my elder aunt from Florida to California, Sunrise of Danville was one of four properties we visited. Not only is the community welcoming and active, the setting peaceful and based in a residential community, the property also presented a very well maintained facility with staffing the felt more like "family" than aids. Plus the resident dog and cat just sealed the deal.

There has been a remarkable improvement in my mother now that she has the care she needs. I cannot say enough good things about the care and people at Sunrise. Her room is always clean, never unpleasant smells or trash laying around. Best of all, my Mom is always smiling! I have toured a multitude of facilities and had my Mom in another facility with multiple locations with heavy turnover (worst mistake of my life)--- there is positively no comparison! Awesome staff and awesome care!

My mother loves living at Sunrise!

Our loved one was placed in the memory care facility. Lots of support and care has been witnessed by family members. Access is available 24/7 and family is invited to many events or activities. Services like hair care and laundry make it easy for our loved one and us. Our loved one loves art and craft activities and these are all available. Afternoon programs and music performers are very commonplace. What a sense of relief to know that appropriate meals are served and medicine is closely monitored. We are very pleased and satisfied with our choice.

Sunrise of Vancouver is a very warm and inviting home for our mom. It's bright and lively and totally not what I expected for a senior's facility. The staff is very friendly and attentive and every day there are activities from special guests to games and exercises which are all-inclusive. The residents may choose to whether to participate or there are quiet areas to watch TV, read or visit with their guests. Mom's medical care was also attended to so that was something we also didn't have to worry about. After her hospital stay she was unable to walk and if she were to have continued staying at home we would have needed a special bed, lift and wheelchair as well as extra caregivers to help her in her daily routine. I wish that our mom was able to have stayed here sooner as she truly enjoyed herself and we were relieved to have found a place like Sunrise to help us care for our mom.

From the moment I walked into the Sunrise at Fleetwood, I felt welcome. I experienced that same open and welcoming attitude at every visit. My Mom had late stage Alzheimer's Disease by the time she entered Sunrise at Fleetwood, nonetheless, the staff made every effort to engage her and make her feel she was part of a community. In fact, she felt so welcome, she thought the staff and residents were her relatives. The staff at Sunrise at Fleetwood are very special people and they must love what they do because they bring a bright positive attitude to work every day. I could not be any happier than I am after nearly 6 months in my beautiful apartment at Sunrise at Holladay. It is clean, beautiful, wonderful food, pleasant staff with only your comfort in mind. I love the indoor parking that affords not only pleasant surroundings, but safety. The other residents are very pleasant. In all, I am extremely happy and I feel very fortunate to have found this new home.

After a not-so-good experience in Florida, we brought Mom to Sunrise of Montgomery Village in Maryland. We have been pleased in every way but particularly in patient care and attention. Mom had Uti’s every month and since moving to MD, she hasn’t had one in eight months. She is always clean and they take the residents to the bathroom every 2-3 hours. Mom is also looking at the friendly, attentive care takers as important people in her life which frees me up from visiting every other day. When they arrive on shift, many go around and greet each resident with a smile and a touch. Meals are delicious and outside entertainment is superb. Thanks, Sunrise for a wonderful experience!
