Sunrise Senior Living

We have not seen a lot of communities but Sunrise was the best community we ever saw. Our loved one is not able to participate in the activities but we get to see what they do with the other residents and there is always something going on from group activities, discussions, lectures, singing and different games.

Great staff who really cares about the residents. Have many activities, visiting musicians, movies in the theater. Dining room offers good food with a nice variety. Great nurses who return family concerns promptly

Both my parents were the first residents in this new facility five years ago and have had a wonderful experience. They both started in Independent Living and my mom moved into memory care a year ago. The staff was instrumental in that move and were very helpful. The staff also did a magnificent job during Covid and continue to really care about the residents. I highly recommend Aspired Living!

Aspired Living has been an exceptional home for my dad over the past 5 years The staff there is so kind and responsive with him During the height of Covid they especially took great care of the residents and followed every protocol They have had to work through staffing issues just as every other business in this crazy economy, but I never saw the quality of care decline for my dad They have worked hard to improve the menu offerings as well and now have a great restaurant service available Don’t hesitate to consider Aspired Living for your loved one…they have been a blessing for us!

Very caring staff, friendly highly recommend

We are happy with this facility. Communication is very good and they're very prompt with questions and issues. The meals are good, nice quality and they offer a good variety. Staff is good. The facility is very clean. They do offer laundry and housekeeping and we're happy with the quality of that also. As far as improvement, my father has to wait sometimes for assistance with hygiene, care needs, help to the restroom etc. Overall, I would recommend this facility!

We grew to love the staff like they were family. They were so good to mom and really were very attentive. Mom wasn't an easy person so this was not an easy job. During moms last days the staff was incredible to mom and us. It is an older community and not as bright and shiny like some but that's not what's most important. The food seems good to mom - but I think sometimes older people just like to complain. I remember mom saying when she lived on her own - if I just had someone to plan and cook meals I would be fine - but then when she had that she would find something to complain about. But nothing was wrong with the food there at all. It is a bit pricey but I think they all are. [Name Removed] and I visited quite a few other places - we hardly saw any care staff. And were told by some there was no set ratio of staff per person. At Sunrise they had plenty of staff except for the occasional Covid break outs and even then they had ample staff. In the last month of moms life she often had 2-3 caregivers checking on her all the time. Cafeteria and maintenance and office staff would come in to see what they could do for mom or us. The nursing staff was incredible.

My sister suffered from many illnesses, including developing dementia and being a double amputee. She was not an easy person to deal with at times due to all her problems, but remained a fighter. Most of the staff was very good to her and knew how to handle her moods. I am grateful to Sunrise for all their help in taking such good care of my sister during this difficult time. I worried about her constantly but felt relieved that she was in good hands. She passed away about a month ago and some of the staff reached out and told me how much they would miss her, which meant a lot.

My friend, loves the food. It seems to be the going the rate but it's expensive/reasonable compared to other places. I was highly impressed, at how they made things happen at the last min and they were so accomodating.

The Jefferson was nice - I liked it a lot. It was just a little overwhelming for my loved one. She needed a facility that was less sprawling. If you like a large community feel, this would be a good place.

I like Sunrise of Crystal Lake because its a smaller facility, and so they really take care of the residents there I feel. I also like that they are so friendly and they truly care about the residents who are living there.

The staff is diligent about checking on my Dad. The Circle of Friends leaders consistently come get him to participate in their program. The Circle of Friends program has helped tremendously in helping trigger memory and encourage speech and cognitive interaction. The nursing staff consistently gets him his medications. The in house PT and OT have helped him regain balance and movement. The meals are well done and provide variety. There are several engaging presentations brought in regularly. The pals are good at checking in on him the amount that he needs. It was more at first, but as he has regained more independence he has requested less. At first he needed help showering. The pals did help, but not as often as we had thought or requested. I think that may have been due to understaffing. He did get a shower at least 1x week. He has since regained independence and the ability to shower himself. Pals take care of laundry each week. Overall a good experience.

They did a great job with my Dad. The rooms were a bit tight, but other than that I can't think of anything else that could improve except maybe little different breakfast options. My Dad did very well while he was there and they took great care of him and he really liked the meals.

I toured this facility and it seemed great! The staff was very friendly. Two things that made me decide against it are the busy location and that it is a larger facility. We were looking for something a little more quiet for mom. If those things don't factor into your decision, I would say definitely consider this facility.

Brighton Gardens of St. Charles gets 5 stars, they really did make us feel like family. I'm a hospice nurse, so I know good facilities which is why I picked this one for my loved one. Special recognition for [name removed] and the Memory care unit, I think they call it reminiscence.

I recommend this facility. My parents are very happy here and have adjusted well. The staff is wonderful. The facility has a great variety of activities available, my parents just haven't participated in them as of yet. The facility is clean. My daughter visited for the first time yesterday and as soon she walked in, she commented on how good it smelled. The apartments are a nice size, also.

Our family had an in person tour and the facility is very nice and the people we met with all seemed like good folks. The tour experience was great but when they did an assessment of our loved one they tried to say our loved one needed a higher level of care which was incorrect so we know this was not the place for our loved one

We really loved Sunrise of Schaumburg. Unfortunately, they did not offer a 2 person assist which was the type of care my loved one needed at the time that we were looking. If they would have been able to handle his care, we definitely would have placed him here.

This was a good community and we liked it. We wanted a community that was closer to another family member.
