Sunrise Senior Living

After many, many hours of research and visiting various facilities, I was lucky enough to be able to place my mom at Sunrise Assisted Living. Everyone there is really caring and trying to help our elderly be respected, honored, and cared for in a manner that they deserve. The Director and staff of Sunrise were always very translucent and upfront with anything and everything that they did. The staff in the reminiscence wing where my mother was for Alzheimer's were amazing. However I will caution, that Alzheimer's is different for every person who was diagnosed. Unfortunately, my mom passed away, less than two months after having her join the Sunrise community. In no way was that a fault of Sunrise assisted living community. They work very very hard to give their community members the support, love, and attention that they need. Based on our prior experience with a different community, I would strongly caution anyone putting a family member into an assisted living facility to make sure that if they become a two person assist that the community can take care of that. We learned that from experience before moving her to Sunrise. Unless you have an unlimited budget for private care or for a very expensive facility, which most people do not, Sunrise Assisted Living is better than most others in the greater Denver area. Everyone on staff did everything they could to make her comfortable in her final days, to keep her safe and comforted, and to try very very hard to keep her with us. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease that none of us have control over. Enjoy your family with Alzheimer's every moment that you can. Thanks to Sunrise Assisted Living for loving not only my mom, but me and my brother as well.

This community is beautiful! It's very clean. The staff is very friendly. All of the residents are nice, too. It's a little pricey, but a very nice place. They have a variety of fun activities. Mom's only complaint is the variety of food. She says they seem to serve the same things a lot. But otherwise, she's very happy here. I would recommend them to friends and family.

We love this community! They are very loving and take great care of mom. The meals are good, good quality and variety. Eating can be a challenge for her, but she does great here. This facility is much better than the last one we had her in. They also offer a wide variety of activities, which was important to us. I would recommend them to family and friends.

After touring other facilities that were good in there own ways I have found BG to be the most like family and the setting to be most like home. Memory care is a hard thing but BG partners with me well as my loved ones needs increase. It is my opinion that no other facility is any better than BG. In caring for Alzheimer's patients who's medical and care needs change sometime daily it requires daily adjustments and mutual patience and cooperation between the resident, the caregivers/facility and the family. I cannot imagine that any facility could ever sustain a 5 in every area on every day. This is a terrible disease and finding a residence that truly cares and adjusts and responds consistently is key. Brighton gardens does that!

Nice interview with the community; however, the community doesn't accept Medicaid after private pay funds run out.

Our tour at Sunrise Highland Park was great. We got to see different areas within the facility and were able to ask questions of our tour guide, who was well informed. We got a good feel for the place. Our loved one just didn’t qualify to go there.

We had a very good tour experience with Surnise of Des Peres. It came down to the locaiton for our family, but this facility was in our top 3.

We thought Sunrise of Shelby Township was a great facility. All of the people we interacted with during our tour were wonderful. The memory care was on the third floor of the facility. The reason we did not choose them was because I just did not feel like they were ready for the level of care that my father in law needed. There were also lots of women and only 2 men. I wanted him to have more men to be able to interact with.

I'm very satisfied with Sunrise of Sandy. We've had a very good overall experience. The people are friendly and very helpful. And they seem to be very concerned with taking care of everybody there. It has been a great place for my loved one.

We went with Sunrise of Smithtown because they had end of life licensing - so they are able to take care of individuals until they pass. We also were not happy with the quality of care they were receiving at their previous facility and the care seemed great here. They staff really seem to go out of their way to try to accommodate anybody regardless of their personality. Even the most tough residents they handle with class and dignity. The professionalism of the staff really stands out. They are also very responsive to the clientele as well - when I bring up an issue they address it and do not blow it off. They also admit mistakes they have made which I appreciated. It is extremely expensive but I have been pleased with the quality of care they are receiving.

We had a very positive tour experience with Sunrise of Mt. Vernon. For us the location was the only drawback. [name removed] continued to follow-up with us and check in to see how my uncle was doing, even after we had told her we chose a different facility. She offered advice and ended up feeling like part of the family. I would highly recommend Sunrise to other families looking.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a great experience

We had a very thorough tour experience with Sunrise of New Dorp. The staff were all extremely attentive and answered all of our questions. They did a very good job. Ultimately it was up to our loved one and he liked the surrounding of another facility better.

We had a great tour experience with Sunrise of Staten Island. The facility was lovely and the staff were all very friendly and thorough with the tour. They were very good and answered any questions we had. Our loved one ended up liking another facility a bit more, but this seemed like a great choice.

We had a great tour experience with Brighton Gardens of Edison. The staff were very attentive and they took us around and showed us everything and answered all of our questions that we had. Ultimately it was up to our loved one and he just like the surroundings at another facility better. But this seemed like a great facility.

Sunrise of Newton has very caring, communicative staff that truly seems to have my mom's care and happiness at heart.

We toured with Sunrise of Sandy and it is an EXTREMELY nice facility. This was actually our first choice for a while. We loved everything we saw and the personnel were so friendly. We visited another facility and just got that "feeling" and that is why we went with them. Also the location was closer. But Sunrise looked like a great place.

The staff members at Brighton Gardens are very friendly and they know all the residents by their first name. The community itself is very clean and the residents look like they are really well taken care of. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend this community to other families.

We really like and appreciate the communication between the staff members and our family - everyone has given us their cell numbers in case we need to reach out. They call our family no matter if its a good or bad update they always tell us what is going on with our loved one. We aren't sure what all activities she does but we do see what they offer and it looks great. We are told our loved one eats everything that is served to her and we would recommend Sunrise of Metairie to other families.

It is a smaller facility so has a homey type feel to it. The food is wonderful, she has many options and can eat in the room as well if chose not to join in the main dining hall. They also have a Bistro that is setup and allowed for friends and family to come and eat with you're loved ones. She is very happy and keeps very busy all the activities. Turns out when she moved in, she had several of her life long friends and friends she grew up with all currently living at Sunrise of Norwood as well. So made for a very smooth transaction. The staff from maintenance all the way up to the top is absolutely wonderful and very caring.
