I think the condition of the small things of the condo could've been a little better. There's some things I think with the screen and fingerprints on windows that weren't completely cleaned before moving in. LOVE that there's variety in choices for food. Mom was at a different place prior with no options. For activities, she loves her euchre games.

Everyone goes above and beyond and does what needs to be done. Everything like food is furnished and I don't have to do anything if I don't want to.

The only drawback is they do not offer transportation within the facility to accommodate the residents to get to doctor's appointments etc... Due to our father's physical and mental status, he can't go unattended. We struggle getting him to his appointments if we are unable to take him. I know some facilities have a van and staff. Other than that, it is a great facility with good administration that goes beyond their scope to make his stay comfortable and safe.

Without a doubt, StoryPoint Rockford is the most caring, safest home for my parents, both of whom live in the Memory Care Neighborhood. Every person my parents and I have met associated with their care truly knows them. They know my mom drinks her coffee hot, black, and adds two ice cubes. They know to whom my father refers when he speaks of "The Admiral." Every person my parents know loves them. When the care team learned of my mother's recent terminal diagnosis, they became emotional. When my father becomes aggressive, they work tirelessly to placate him, learning why he's behaving the way he is. My parents are safe. They are comfortable. They will never face their declines alone, and they are never seen as "disabled." The staff works tirelessly to maintain my parents' dignity, physical and emotional health. My family will be forever grateful to StoryPoint Rockford staff for caring for and loving on my parents.

We helped our 93-year-old aunt move to Independence Village. She now has the opportunity to meet new people, walk to and from the dining room, participate in exercise classes, and enjoy the special events. The food is wonderful.

New chef has a tough act to follow, and is still improving. Higher prices have forced him to change vendors for the worse. This has not been helpful. Food can vary from ok to very good, and what you receive may not exactly match the menu description, but generally it's good. Care services are good, but aides need better training before being thrown into the more customized, bordering on medical, services. They could use two groups of aides based on skill level.

My mom moved into assisted living And has truly had a wonderful transition. The staff is phenomenal, very caring and responsive. She has raved about the food and has started joining some activities, Choices of which are plentiful The grounds and common areas are meticulous.

I placed my mom at this location 2 years ago. She immediately felt at home and got involved. A wonderfully pleasant place to be for the aging. She was surrounded by loving, caring people.

They are very professional, polite, and care to my needs. The community is very neat and always clean. The food is outstanding and they have great selections. They make everyone feel at home and in my opinion. This is great for all resident. I found a great place to live.

My experience has far exceeded any expectation I had for senior living community. Story Point is truly a family. We play, laugh, celebrate grieve and mourn together, residents and staff. The variety of programming keeps me busy on terms. The staff is professional compassionate and caring.

Over all- 5. She is always clean and neat. Cleanliness. 5 she is always clean and neat. She never smells bad. The facility never smells bad or falsely good as if being covered up. Rooms are always neat with no visible dirt or even dust. Friendliness of staff. 5 Everyone is always very high (especially when we bring kittens and everyone comes to see us) Always glad to help us etc. Quality of care 5. She fell with me going to the bathroom and broke her hip. She had to go to the local rehab for 10 weeks. That was awful. We couldn't wait to get her back to Woodlawn. [name removed] couldn't wait to get back to woodlawn. And she did complain about things there. She was getting bumped on her legs that caused sores. She entered Woodlawn after having been through 3 weeks in hospital because of a near fatal bowl obstruction and then rehab. Now she is able to transfer to her walker on her own and walk around the common rooms. We are very happy to have her stronger. Meals 5. Meals are good. She is always shooing us away if it is meal time. She seems to be hungry. Woodlawn always invites us to eat. We don't because we spend an hour every day with her and need to go. Activities 5 - Plus we bring her to our home on holidays etc. Being in memory care activities are restricted to in house. They do bring in people for activities. They have singing with instrumental accompaniment Other activities we have seen are, coloring, the once daily soap opera, they high light a TV movie with popcorn or cookies every day, they have trivia games, one day they had brought in pizza for lunch. I know the director has played dominoes with [name removed] special cuz we can't visit. We don't see all the activity because we tend to visit during lulls in the day. Value for cost 5 she is happy. My brother who handles her finances seems happy with everything. He has never seemed to think Woodlawn to be overpriced. He owns his own company employing up to 50 people for decades. I know he would look else ware if we were not satisfied. And we visited 3 local places. So we have comparisons.

This is the place to be! However, many who have left reviews seem to be mistaken about the living arrangements here. Independence Village, as indicated in its name, is for independent living with added benefits. It is not designed to be a place that provides 24/7 care for individuals. It is an apartment complex designed for seniors that provides three daily meals if residents so choose. If additional care is needed, independent caregivers can be hired. The staff, however, makes this place extraordinary! Without them, this would be like any other place. They go the extra mile, they get to know you, your family and friends…heck, they become part of your family! They care so much they get confused with a 24/7 care staff! I highly recommend this place to anyone considering independent living for seniors. It is worth it to have constant peace of mind, security, friendly residents and staff and transportation that meets your needs. Check it out!

Everything was wonderful. I know for my mom she really enjoyed the outings and I would of liked if there were more available. The apartments were on the smaller side, but they were ok for what we needed.

The staff at Sunrise of Gahanna are so helpful. They treat my mom like a queen.

My Grandma loves it there. I saw here dancing with the activity girl. She like the music and bingo. She is always busy. I love that!

Everything is a 5 besides the value for cost because the cost is high. However, we what we like the most about Sanctuary Grande is that it is a caring community with good meals and activities for the residents to participate in. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far

Very attentive. Director and staff always there for you happy environment, caring staff good meals. Have lived here almost 7 years.

They're great. We picked this community because they're nearby, not as expensive as other facilities and we liked the people.
