When my aunt first got their is was really good and they took care of her. Then something happened and I would say they dont pay much attention or help the handicapped people as they should.

I have absolutely nothing positive or constructive to say regarding Holiday Retirement My Past Experience with Ponder creek was wonderful, but I can not say that now. My previous Experience with Ponder creek has been horrifying. My aunt was there for two years she passed away in June. The manager there, at that time was passionate & caring they took pride in their work. They cared about the residents and their well-being and they were their day & night no matter what. My Father decided to retire in to ponder creek because his sister had been there and he knew how good she was treated. He was hoping for the same hospitably. But there were new mangers and no respect for the residents. They were rude not just to residents but to staff & Family. Mangers threaten residents by raising their rent. My father put a suggestion in the suggestion box about preparing more food for meals so they would not run out out. And having snacks out in the evenings and he signed his name. He was told by other residents if he did that his rent would go up. I attend one of the meetings where the Ponder Creek management was not allowed. We met with a Mr Fries [removed] he has no passion what so ever for the seniors. I do believe Mr. Fries & the mangers are lining their pockets by raising these poor seniors rent. What happen to the mangers that was there in June 2014 you need to find them and bring them back or there will not be a Ponder Creek. My Father stayed two months and moved in with me. I do not recommend this place for anyone not even a animal. As far as Resident Relations it’s a joke they talk a big game, but nothing is done we filled out the cards made phone calls nothing but to hear them say. They will look into the problem and get back with us. Just to hear them say there is nothing they can do. Or they leave you hanging I think they are getting a kick back just like management Janice

Senior star makes empty promises to everyone from incoming tours to staff. When a tour is coming they announce it over the walkies so everyone knows to look busy. The higher ups never listen to concerns of residents, families, or staff. You can't find the DON, ADON, or Health Services Manager. They all dodge families and residents. Senior star is usually understaffed. The normal staff mean well, however you can only do so much when you have so many people. Senior Star is suppose to be a Assisted Living Facility and is really a nursing home. Senior star is not equipped to handle the behaviors they have. Some are dementia behaviors but some are truly psychological issues. I walked in to see my uncle and there was a resident in the front yelling at staff and swinging at them. Later when I was leaving, the same lady was screaming and no one was near her as if they were all afraid of her. The place is clean. Some of the staff is friendly. But for what you pay, not worth it. And activities I have never seen any happen. Should you consider senior star? The answer is No! I'm currently trying to talk my family into moving my uncle out. Anywhere is better then Senior Star..

They are all promotional once my dad was in he went tremendously downhill he has got bed sores and is in and out of the hospital from my observation and the doctor at the hospital they obviously don't keep him clean nor change him there has been occasions where I had to change him upon visiting,the care partners seem very lazy and are always watching tv or just standing around, the residents don't ever seem to be doing anything but watching tv or sitting you never see the adon of memory care out of her office interacting with the residents it's sad how make promises galore and definitely don't follow thru be smart and look else where!!!

I got a call from Cynthia and she said we had a tour scheduled but there was not one. She was very nice and will contact us later in the week. Can't give a rating since we did not have a tour.

I have had two experiences with this place. The first time around my grandmother and grandfather moved in together in the summer of 2012. The Inn at Cass Lake was under going construction at the time and everyone seemed very chaotic/busy.They were so busy that my grandparents both felt like they had been forgotten about. They were never explained their routines, rules or regulations. It was a very awkward transition, and ended with my grandmother on verge of a mental breakdown after two nights of the fire alarms going off. They left after 2-3 weeks. My grandfather passed away on the first of 2013. Due to some circumstances, my grandmother decided to give The Inn another try. We told them she would not be staying long, she was only looking for a place to transition in while another apartment was set up. The agreed she could stay in a fully furnished room for a month. Again, my grandmother was not explained the rules and regulations. They just expected her to know because she had been there the year before. I finally confronted them, after she had been "talked to" by Bill for "Sitting in the wrong spot." She moved out after a month, and has received a bill for 3 months rent. These are the observations my family and I have made: o They tell you there are no assigned seating for meals, but there is. Everyone already has a place they like to sit with certain people, they do not move, and you are expected -not- to sit in their seats. o Management is cold to their residents. They poor coffee without looking at them, saying "good morning" or even smiling. o There is NO communication between management. One person will tell you one thing, another will call and ask you what's going on. o I saw a man sitting in a hallway, very upset. He said he had not eaten all day long (it was around 7 or 8 at night when I talked to him), that they had told him they would bring his meals to him because he wasn't feeling well. I notified a nurse, she got anger and said it wasn't her job to take food to him. She talked to Bill, he said he had made a note for them to do it. Again, an example of poor communication on their behalf. During the month my grandmother stayed there, they showed her apartment 3 times. Twice without letting her know they were going to do it and just showed up. Then they questioned why she was moving out and argued with her that she had another 2 months left. Why would anyone want to stay somewhere that they're invading your privacy like that? Overall, just very, very poor management. There are some really great nurses and staff there, but the rest need to get their act together. They are caring for people, not livestock.

The staff will lie, cheat and steal to get you to move in. All of the other families that I knew took their loved ones out after the first month. They lost my mother( dementia patient) the night she was released from ER and 24 hour bedside nurse was required from hospital. They had to call in a missing persons report. They absolutely suck and shouldn't be allowed to take care of their own family. [name removed] and his crazed followers would be able to take better care of patients and have less injuries/ deaths!

The community won't take me to a doctor's appointment, but will take other residents to their doctor appointments. I now feel trapped living in independent living as the community refuses to give me a refund. They will be raising the rent after an extended period of time. The food is fine dining, but the chef won't feed me what I would to eat. There is transportation in a specific radius of the community.

I would encourage you to not go to HarborChase. The nurse evaluated my loved one and they ended up kicking my loved one out after the first half evening my loved one was there. The community wasn't prepared to take care of my loved one. The brochure state they take care of wound care, and they don't have staff to care for wounds is what we were told that evening. The community is beautiful.

I feel like they did us wrong. Initially we met with the director of nursing and the salesperson, and we explained my loved one's needs. We were very clear with what he needed, and they said it was going to be no problem. When we arrived less than two weeks later, they had fired the director of nursing we had met with. My loved one was there for only one night when they called us to say we had to come pick him up because they could not take care of his needs. They also said that had they had a different director of nursing, they never would have accepted him in the first place. So we were left to scramble to get him out of there and into a new place. They told me we would get a refund within 30-45 days, and months later I only just now got a refund after having to call several times to follow up . It was just a bad experience.

I would say it is an absolutely not to go there. It is a nice community outside that is new. The inside is chaotic which makes it poor quality of care for the loved one. The executive director promised things, and they don't return calls, or emails. Then the executive director got fired. The interim director never wanted to meet with me about my loved one. Then this director left. The new executive director hasn't followed up with me at all. We have made the decision to move our loved one out of the community.

They make the community look really pretty, however when it comes to the food it was served cold and our father ended up going to the hospital for loosing to much weight. Our loved ones were only there for 10 days, when they told us our mother needed more care than what they could offer, and that we pretty much needed to leave. We had to pay for the next 3 months even though they were only there for 10 days. They suck you in with all the good talk and nice things they have, but when you get there it is totally different and everything is pretty much ale cart.

Go somewhere else, the care was inadequate, and if I could have rated the care, friendliness, and the management willingness to work with you I would have rated it a -10. This community is a pig with lip stick and it's an awful place.

I believe this community closed recently. It was a beautiful looking community on the outside. I feel the community didn't help my loved one during their stay. The staff and residents were pleasant. The biggest issue was their head nurse in the community.

The community promises to have someone come in and clean every two weeks. The person that comes in to clean doesn't have enough time to run the vacuum in your room. They are only in your room for an hour, due to not having enough people available to clean. We left the community as soon as we could. The contract we had, we thought was month-to-month, and in fact we signed up for a year. The promises the community made to us initially, they don't make good on their promises. The food is bad that the community made, and we only ate in the dining room. I ended up making my own food, and still had to pay the price for the meal plan. The fish they provided was good. All the food that the community provided was from Gordon Foods. The community has had several staff leave. The average age of the resident is 94.

They are on their 3rd director and medical director so far this year. The entire staff has been replaced twice. My Father was not taken care of correctly here. We have had so many issues with this facility including not cleaning his room, not helping him use the bathroom, and items coming up missing. The communication is very bad, we have only been contacted one time after he has fallen. Do not send your loved one to this community.

If you are truly looking for a place to stay secure and loved, you should stay away. The staff call our family often and tell us how inappropriately they are staffed and the lack of leadership. No Assisted Living Director and the so called ‘executive’ is always behind closed doors in meetings. In the last 3 months or more, the kindness has left this community. I believed the sales person when I heard about the ‘loving’ environment our family could experience. The changes this community has made has impacted the care my family and other people have received. They do not care about taking care of the elderly and they put on a good front. Our family feels betrayed because we were sold a good story and in the last few months, the customer services has been so poor. From the calls to the receptionist to the many voicemails we leave, it is just not acceptable.

My mother transferred to Independence Village and was admitted to Premier, now Laurus, Hospice in [date removed]. She required assistance with activities of daily living and some memory care. The level of care provided by this facility and associated Hospice did not lend itself to any type of quality living for someone in my mother's condition. I would not advise placing a loved one, who cannot safely navigate through the day without assistance, in this facility. The staffing ratio of aides to residents is low. Aides have no time to ensure a warm meal, a dry bed, or to prevent skin breakdown. In fact, my mother developed a bedsore that went unnoticed by aides and Hospice nurse for months. It became a stage 3 ulcer. No one had reported the injury, and nothing was being done to care for it until I discovered it and requested care. Sad to say my mother died having endured months of pain from this injury, and pain from a source never investigated, despite my requests.

Would never recommend $enior $tar at Weber Place to anyone I care for. They are all about the dollar and have little concern for the residents well being. Their lack of communication with the families and amongst themselves was a constant issue.

I was heartbroken with some of the care my dad received from Wescourt, I would NEVER recommend it to anyone.
