My parents have been very disappointed with their stay at Independence Village of Ames. They always seem to be short staffed. There have been time where they have pulled the assistance cord, and no one shows up for 30 minutes so they call 911. The ambulance arrives before staff. They are supposed to have assistance with showers twice a week, but sometimes it's two weeks between showers. The food according to them is terrible most days. They can't seem to keep a "chef." Them saying chef prepared meals is a joke. They now prepare most of their own meals themselves. There's also supposed to be daily cleaning, and monthly deep cleaning, but really it's just once a week cleaning, and no deep cleaning. I'm guessing my review doesn't even get posted, but if it does beware of this place.

This place has had some truly exceptional people working here but unfortunately, they have all left. They treat their staff quite terribly. They bend over backwards to get people to move in and after they do, they no longer care about your concerns. They just seem to be interested in making money. Even when you decide to move out, they don't seem to care because they have already collected a very hefty, non-refundable community fee in addition to your rent. The employees who have left seemed to be tricked into working there just as much as everyone tricked into living there. They outright lie to people to get them in the door. It really is a shame. It seemed like a beautiful place that would add to the beauty of Shaker but it isn't what it seemed. I feel badly for the people still living and working there, although I think it's an entirely new group of employees. They'll surely leave too and then who will take care of all those lovely people?

We feel that we did not get what we had paid for. If it wasn't for the hospice team coming into help it would have been a very bad experience for our loved one.

Be careful!! Our Mom moved into Springvale in September. Less than 3 months later we received a notice of rent increase- of nearly 15%! This left barely a week to make a decision because we had to give a months notice, and knowing that moving would have to be over the holidays. After agonizing for the week, the stress making her ill, my mom decided to move. Springvale is already the most expensive facility in the area, and the extra $ considering the level of service was not worth it. After I sent in our 30 day notice to move her before [date removed], management then tried negotiating with my mom, not once but multiple times dropping the price trying to get her stay, causing added stress. (She is 93 years old) Keep in mind, when you move in, you pay several thousand dollars in NON-REFUNDABLE fees.. so in essence, besides the rent, threw away thousands of extra dollars to stay there a few months. The executive management team is cold and uncaring. We scheduled a meeting with the executive director who conveniently had an “emergency “ and couldn’t meet with us regarding safety concerns and to inquire for information when my mother had fallen and was not found for 2 days. She was only looked in upon at my request. No one from the team ever reached out to inquire to her status. My husband and I showed up at the appointed day and time. However, [name removed] was unavailable and we were left waiting 40 min and were pawned off onto another executive team member who was so uncaring. This place is great at selling a bill of goods with no intention of keeping promises. Terrible place

My Aunt and Grandma both stayed here for limited time and the place is hideous. Upper floors smell of urine. A lot of screaming going on. I believe it's happening by older residents who may need more help than offered here. [name removed] is a complete nightmare of a person. Always rude. I've heard her being stern with older women residents to the point she had them crying. Shame on you [name removed] for being such a horrible person. You stink. You could use a bath yourself. [name removed] once cursed out a UPS delivery driver in front of 6 residents then told them loudly to go to their rooms. Very rude lady.

When I first admitted mom in this place I thought it was the right choice but I quickly realized my mistake and mom is now in a different assisted living. They are always short staff, I can't tell you how many times they forgot to order mom some food, her meds always ran out which is crazy. Mom fell on the floor one day and I wasn't called or informed about it. I learned days later when I came to visit mom and she was all bruised up and had a clot building up under her arm. They didn't even care enough to look after, after the fall to make sure she was still ok. When you do finally get ahold of [name removed] whose in charge of nursing she doesn't show any emotion whats so ever. It's like she doesn't even care. And when you talk to the lead QMA [name removed] it's the same affect but worse, she just throws me off and says I need to talk to [name removed] but it takes [name removed] sometimes days to even respond back. I wouldn't bring my parents here ever again.

StoryPoint Fort Wayne West over promised and under delivered, in our experience. They say that they can handle declining health conditions, which was not the case for us. Only fairly healthy, fully mobile people for this facility. The housekeeping was bare minimum. They did not respond to the call button and didn't come in to change soiled sheets and diapers for my loved one. I would not recommend StoryPoint Fort Wayne West to anyone.

Housekeeper is Great. But as part of your contract you are offered linen service which during our entire stay has not occurred even though brought up with administrator. They are way short staffed in all areas and are not providing services they stated and are in our contract. The majority of the staff is friendly except for a few bad apples. The wellness staff failed to be able to organize a flu/covid clinic for the residents. There was a complete lack of communication about this and residents were left to figure it out on their own . They also regularly no show or show up at the wrong time for contacted services . There was only a short period of time when the food was good. You could hardly call it a chef inspired meal anymore. They frequently have problems with their order and you get meals with missing components. There is a shortage of wait staff and cooks. The activities guy is high energy and tries his best but he is only one person. He does a great job on banquet type events for the most part lot of the daily events are poorly attended and makes you wonder if that's what people really want to be doing. Way overpriced for the quality of the food, maintenance and wellness services that are being provided currently or not being provided. Basically they are overselling what they are able to provide.

My loved one is currently a resident at Independence Village of Fishers South and overall her experience at this facility has been terrible. My loved one has needed a pretty major repair done in her room for weeks now. I have tried to communicate with the Director, but she blew me off and has never gotten back to me. On occasion, they've been great about things, but it's been an absolute mess for the most part.

The ladies at the front desk were very friendly, it was nice to talk with them. I can't say that there was anything we liked about the place other than it was new and looked nice. The care was terrible. My dad was dropped and was sent to the hospital 3 times in the five months he was there. Our families experience was not good so I would not recommend Provision Living to care for a loved one

Dominion Senior Living of Johnson City, TN is not the place for anyone you care about. [name removed] is an excellent salesperson and the facility is beautiful but the care is not there. Sure, there are a few that give excellent care but they are limited because of short staffing and incompetent higher ups and inexperienced new employees. Snack and hydration twice a day doesn’t happen and if it does it is usually a salty snack with no hydration. If a resident doesn’t eat 2 or 3 meals a day, no problem. They don’t care. This is not acceptable for anyone but especially those in memory care. If the resident is combative, kick them out. It’s not the facility’s fault that they didn’t give them the medication they needed that would help the resident be calm. Just remember when looking for a place for your loved one that a pretty building doesn’t mean it’s a good place. The staff and management do that.

Terrible service. No accountability. Management must be afraid of the staff? Supposedly “processes” are in place for staff to document showers, etc., but they don’t use them. Unless you are there everyday checking on things, don’t expect your loved one to get their bi-weekly shower, bed sheets changed, etc. One evening, there was no nurse for several hours! Medicines were missed/delayed. One night there was 1 aide for 35 patients. Also, one nurse for 35 patients is the norm at Danbury! That is crazy! The facility is nice, the staff are nice and most of them try hard. But that does not make up for the severe deficits that are present. Needs a major overhaul. They need documentation that includes dates/times that meds, showers, room cleaning, night time bed checks, etc. are done. You will NOT rest easy when your loved one is here. You will constantly be babysitting the staff. You will have sleepless nights! Needs more staff and more accountability!

My loved one was a resident at Provision Living of Forest Hills. The staff turnover was high. The Sales Director was gone the same day as when my loved one moved in. The Director of Nursing assured us that she wasn't going anywhere, but she was gone two months later. The Aides and Assistants came and went. The staff was not trained properly. Management was very poor. My loved one said that the food was awful. I would not recommend this facility to others.

Pretty place! Promise you the world of best, but only on Sunday afternoon when guess come to visit. If you needed staff you had to look for them. My loved one was not showered, dressed properly, hair a tangled mess, just left in bed 90% of the day. I could only speak to the medical care by appointment. I do not and would not recommend this facility to anyone.

My mother died 6 days after being there. Her first full day of being there she fell and broke her hip. Needless to say we were not happy with her care. Not because of the fall necessarily, but because of the care she got after.

They should be able to know in detail what the facility has and what they are willing to do for your love one. And don't treat them like a number but a person. Based off of our experience with Holiday Ponder Creek Estates, we would not recommend this facility to others looking. Mainly based off of the unprofessional staff.

My loved one has been there over a year under Provision's care/lack of care. Be aware, the staff is constantly turning over. Many employees simple walk off the job/including Director of bldg, resident assistants, marketing agent, administrative assistant, chefs. Their solution is to bring in temporary help from their "corporate office." Leading to poor management. I've reached out to corporate about getting rate increases without 30 day notice that is required in resident admission packet. The latest is a "late charge" for not paying the increase, even though I was not notified of price increase in timely manner. In visiting at lunch time yesterday, I got to see lunch being served. It consisted of a small white roll, a scoop of mashed Potatoes, and a scoop of corn...That was all that was on their plates!!!! My loved one hasn't had a shower in over a week; I had to take him to Dr's appt smelling of body odor, and with greasy hair, and dirty shirt. Enough said!

Our loved one was not at StoryPoint Romeoville long enough to experience the meals and dining or do any of the activities so we cannot comment on those categories. The staff were friendly but our loved one passed within 3 days of being there, they were not giving him his medications correctly. Based on what we experience, they can definitely improve on the overall quality of care.

Poor selection of food, menu repeats every 3 weeks or sooner. Pasta and rice and never a steak served in the last 2 years. Short staffed often, the janitor has to serve food, wearing dirty clothes. Bus service very poor. Limited to mornings when the bus is not broke down. Very rarely does management try to rent a replacement to help residents. Dining Room chairs worn out, couch in atrium dirty, hasn’t been cleaned. Activities are extremely limited, no imagination by staff. Few people attend due to boring. The assistant manager is great, she goes out of her way to be helpful. I would not recommend Pearl Crossing to anyone.
