Facility is clean, and bright, with a very friendly staff as well as a good variety of activities for the residents

Having to place a parent in assisted living is a hard choice, but the team at Lakeview Terrace made mom feel welcome right away. As she says, it's not home, but if she was no longer able to live in her home, it's the nicest place to be. Being able to have her own apartment furnished with her own furnishings makes it feel like home. Being in the Terrace, Mom's mental health and cognitive skills have improved so much. Thank you for the wonderful team and facility you provide for her!

What I appreciated most was -- my mom finds the environment very comfortable. It is not as up-to-date as some others (although they are finishing some nice renovations), but my mom says it is "homey". I wish there had been more orientation during the move-in process. We had to figure out a few things ourselves. And they need to beef up security (need cameras). The staff is/was especially great at making my mom feel welcome and inviting her to activities to get her oriented. Overall, I'd describe the experience as very positive. It's a great fit for my mom and I think she will be able to age in place there comfortably.

It was a great place. Nice facility and the staff was very caring and helpful. My dad was in a studio and it was perfect sized. Nice kitchen, bath and had a washer/dryer in the room. All brand new paint and like new carpet. Amenities were nice but he was only there for a week before he passed so he didn't really use any.

We moved my parents into Independent living after noticing my mother started showing signs of dementia. They were able to enjoy their lives at StortPoint for many years. They both loved all the activities. When it became difficult for my dad to care for my mom, we moved them to enhanced living. The loving and caring staff were phenomenal! [name removed] was especially helpful and formed such a bond with my dad. My dad sadly passed away at the age of 99 on Christmas Day. We moved my mom to the memory care community. It has been great experience, my mom is flourishing! The staff is A+ and professional! It hasn’t always been easy, but the caring staff and care workers have made our journey much easier!

All 5's! They've been amazing. What we like the most about the community is that it is quiet and safe. All of the staff are kind and caring for each resident. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Beautiful community with very friendly staff and very knowledgeable management team. I had a great experience during my grandma’s stay there. She was very happy there. Staff was always available whenever she needed assistance.

Stonegate Village is warm and welcoming the moment you walk through the doors. The decor is cozy and the community is immaculate. The rooms are spacious and well taken care of. The staff are amazing and accommodating. I would highly recommend to anyone!

Facility, staff etc all very good but price is still very expensive for seniors on a fixed income.

Lakeview Terrace , a comfy and loved spot in a small town! It feels like you are part of the town. The front area is near the school and just around the curve is the rest of the town.. You do not feel isolated! The building and grounds are well kept! The staff is very caring and goes the extra mile for residents. The daily calendar is filled with activities, speakers and projects, all who come in the door are welcome to pull up a chair and get involved I owe a lot of the praise of the Terrace to [name removed], the director. Her office door is usually open and she says…pull up a chair!! she easily meets with a resident and or family to share concerns and plans . She cares! The staff cares. You constantly sees and hears about little things for people.. by people who care!

What we like the most about Independence Village is the staff, the cleanliness and the food. Yes, we would recommend Independence Village of Avon to other families based on the experience we have had.

My dad and step-mom moved to assisted living not because dad needed help, but because she did. At the age of 91 he was doing everything; the cooking, the cleaning, the laundry, driving her to appointments. She had primary progressive aphasia and was developing dementia. The staff consistently involved her in the activities offered. They came down to the apartment and urged her to join in. She really enjoyed it. When her dementia advanced and we needed to sign her up for Hospice, [name removed] was there to explain it so we all could understand. The staff worked with hospice to keep her as comfortable as possible. They were caring and encouraged the family to be with her. They delivered meals to the room so we didn’t have to leave. They offered hugs when we were looking overwhelmed. After she passed away, Dad decided to stay, even though he was independent. He said it felt like home. That’s the greatest recommendation of all.

Mom went to see her specialist dr(Dermatologist). Her Dr said her skin looks great. I said it’s the staff at her assisted living facility. Dr said : Well they’re doing a great job. It’s an A+ review. Plus the kitchen staff is very careful with moms diet.

The staff really care about you here. The size of the one bedroom apartment is adequate for me. Included in the rent is one main meal per day, but you are free to be on different plan adding in breakfast , lunch or both for an added fee. There are also many activities to join. Bimonthly apartment cleaning is also included in the rent, as is weekly washing of towels and sheets.

I looked at several different places, not EXACTLY knowing what I was looking for. This process was all new to me. Once I found StoryPoint, I felt confident it was the correct place for my mom Visually, it is quite nice-looking. From the common areas, dining room and courtyard to the rooms - it is well-maintained and inviting. My mom's room is relatively small, but very functional and exactly what she needs - a small kitchen, a large bathroom and a very adequate living/sleeping space. I have been very impressed with the staff and administration. The staff has been very caring and the administration is on top of any issue that has come up. Any concerns have been addressed swiftly. My mom has dementia and they have graduated care. She is not in Memory Care yet, but they have been very good about her care as she declines :'(. Other pluses - - Special activities are met with enthusiasm and creativity. - food is varied and very good. I would definitely recommend.

Story Point is a great place to live. It is a community that cares & provides so much. The food is great!! They have many choices, not always the same thing. A great variety never boring. Plus they have brunch/lunch on special occasions that you can invite your family. Entertainment is endless. They bring in different individuals to do card show, singer’s, piano players or dress everyone up for pictures. Always something going on. Check out Story Point!!

I didn't actually eat any of the food but it smelled good the couple of times I was there. My aunt could be very difficult and the story point staff was more than accommodating and was very helpful with her. I found all the staff to be very friendly and help me through the transition of being able to move her in even though I did not live in the Chicago area. When my aunt fell or had other problems they were prompt to call me and let me know what was going on. When my aunt would call me eight times a day telling me her phone wasn't working. They were very gracious and going in there and checking on her phone and seeing if there was anything they could do. Basically I can't say enough good things about story point. I don't think my aunt got the full enjoyment out of it because by the time she went in there she already had some mental decline, but it looked to me like the other residents. Thoroughly enjoyed the activities, the gatherings and getting together in the various cafes.

A tough decision was made two years ago to move our parents to Story Point! I can honestly say this place is Fantastic! It’s clean upscale and really serves my parents needs! From the 5 pm white tablecloth dinners to the amazing activities SP offers this place reassures me on a daily basis our decision was a good one! How satisfying it is to see my mom on FB participating in some many diverse activities and reassuring when my parents go out w us, they are worried about getting back in time for music/ bingo/ dinner etc… thank you SP for the assurance our parents are in a happy nurturing environment… we are grateful.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at StoryPoint Union. The activities here are truly outstanding — there’s always something fun and engaging happening, and it’s made such a difference in my father-in-law’s life. He’s become so much more social, making new friends and really enjoying himself every day. One of my favorite things is seeing the pictures posted to Facebook — his smile says it all. You can just tell how much he’s enjoying the events, the company, and the atmosphere. It warms our hearts knowing he’s in a place where he’s not just cared for, but thriving. The food is consistently good, the place is spotless, and there’s always something to look forward to. StoryPoint Union has given him a vibrant, connected lifestyle — and given us peace of mind. Truly grateful for this community!
