The only thing that was wrong was the girls that were supposed to come help me first thing in the morning with my pills because I have arthritis in my hands and I couldn't get the packages open never showed up even after I called them I ended up getting a pair of scissors to open them so I just called Molly and told her to forget having the girls come here. [name removed] was always here right on time always friendly at night and I miss him, but I'm not gonna pay for something I'm not getting.

The quality of care gets a 4 during the week but a 3 during the weekends. The activities gets a 3 but while she was there but because there were so few residents at the time. They were slowly ramping up. Facility is very new, while we were there there were a core group of team members but seemed to have a lot of turnover especially with night and weekend people: most of the general seating area is in the independent living area which is a distance from assisted living. The rooms have a true apartment feel unlike most other facilities we looked at. The other thing I would add is the their hospice unit - Corsocare was great.

The staff is wonderful to work with! Activities, including BINGO, and other craft activities are planned and easy to do with limited mobility. The dining experience is good, but they are, and have been for some time now, looking to hire a chef. They all work hard to make living here enjoyable! I have also made a lot of friends! Getting to places is easy with transportation being provided.

Good: residents and staff are super friendly. I like my apartment, balcony, facility and all the events that are planned for us. Bad: lost our chef and food service is not up to par right now but they are working to fix that. When school started most of our wait staff left for college which means mostly new wait staff which will be ok once they are trained and used to our quirks.

Staff was excellent. Dining waiters and waitresses were amazing. Main concern was that medicine was found throughout her apartment, under her couch, on her dresser, on the hallway floor. Laundry was agreed to be done by staff but after 3 weeks, it was piled high. The main man from Cleveland had apparently not communicated to staff about laundry. Overall a 4. Most things were wonderful! They didn't have a memory care facility so mom had to leave.

It's an excellent facility. [names removed] are very responsive. Staff professional and friendly. Nice range of activities available. A small point deduction: it would help if there was a pamphlet or booklet to tell family members what they were responsible for.

My mother was thrilled with the dining options and quality of the food. The staff was overall very good except for one or two care assistants who barely said hello to her. Facility was nice and clean. We had a problem with getting a few medication's on board for my mom when she was arrived there, especially pain medication. Part of this was Arbor Hospice problem and lack of an in-house physician who had time to review her list and make sure she had everything. Also, the physician that was available would not approve a specialty medication that her psychiatrist had prescribed. I think the in-house hospice service company would've been better than an outside one.

Price point is the best compared to comparable facilities in this area. I didn't care for the all or nothing ( all 3 meals or none) meal plan. Dad would skip lunch or breakfast pretty consistently. Housekeeping was once every 2 weeks which was great. The staff were very friendly.

The staff have been very welcoming in helping my mother in law transition to the facility. Many of the residents reach out to her to join activities to become more acclimated. A variety of activities are offered every month, so there is something for everyone. There are plenty of dining options every day. My mother in law has been very pleased with the food.

The staff is wonderful, but there are some communication issues between the office manager and the sales manager and front desk.

My mom has had mixed results with the caretakers. Some are very good, and some she felt did not understand her Parkinson's and associated movement limitations. Response times are slow at times, and she sometimes has waited an hour or more after pressing her call button. She has told me multiple times that they seem to be understaffed. She takes all her meals in her room and has never complained about the food. She does not participate in activities. So overall impression is good, but not great. But I think that is the case with most assisted living facilities.

I give this rating due to the long response time when a resident has pushed their emergency button. ( a necklace pendant they all wear in case they fall or suffer a medical emergency) the normal response time can be as much as an hour before a nurse comes to check on them. That kind of response time is unacceptable.

You can purchase extra care, "Ala cart" through Corso Care. We were able to keep my mom living independently longer, with the extra purchase, on a monthly basis.. That lasted about 6 months before we had to move her to a total assisted, memory care facility. Story Point was a success, and the Staff was very good to Mom, and family members, for our end of life journey, with her, for sure. The location was the draw, and it provided convenience as it worked out, for the Hospital and rehab facilities.. So how about Location, nice place and caring environment!!

It's great but nothing is perfect. I moved to Story Point because they offer 'Enhanced Living.' This is a step above Independent and below Assisted. I get 3 meals a day, housekeeping, and laundry. In addition I can choose and pay for any caregiver services I need. Staff is friendly and supportive. Lots of activities to choose from. A lovely outdoor courtyard for nice days. The staff is very helpful. Dining servers are always willing to provide a little extra help getting in and out of chairs. Food is plentiful--many residents gain weight in the first few months. I find most of the meals are mediocre but I don't have to cook or clean up. ??. You can have meals delivered to your apartment for a small charge. Caregivers are provided through a separate company. They are present 24/7. They are available for transport to meals and activities as well as showers and other personal needs. Always cheerful and attentive. There are multiple game groups. I've joined bridge and book club. There's live music one or twice a week, happy hour and birthday celebrations. You're welcome to bring a pet. Regular outings to local activities.

This has turned out to be a really good fit for my mother. Our only complaint is we wished they had more "newcomer" activities and opportunities to meet other residents when she first moved in. We really had to make an effort at the beginning to connect her with other residents. And we felt there should be more coordinated efforts when residents are new.

Place is worth it. Has nursing and pt in it. Has prepared meals. We’re nice to bring meals to me after surgery. Also has activities such as bingo weekly. Physical therapy and kitchen staff very friendly

The care that [name removed]received the brief time he was there was excellent. The downfall is there's no outside area for memory care for people to sit outside when they enjoy outdoor life.

The building was clean and we have found the workers friendly and the food good. The price for his care has gone up as they say he needs more help than when he arrived, which is probably normal.

It was a fine place to be; however, I was very surprised to discover that they were charging me for several months after I left. Evidently, the contract that I signed stated that I would be responsible for payments for the full year of the contract unless they filled the room at some point. This cost me quite a lot of money and was most disturbing. Based on that, I would not recommend Independence Village to others
