Clarendale was bought out by StoryPoint and the transition has not been great. They have gone through 2 directors of nursing in (less than?) 6 months...and staffing issues, which I expected in the beginning. It is hard to find staff...the job is difficult and CNA's are terribly underpaid across the board. There is very little consistency with the aides/caregivers who are looking over my mom in memory care. I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall, having to go over her needs every time I visit...with someone I've never met before. That said, I truly believe that they are really trying to get it right. In two cases, I was not been able to find someone to let me out of her living space (it is locked, of course, because it is memory care)...once it was 1/2 hr before an aide appeared. I could not find a nurse either.The 2nd time, I had to call the front desk to have someone come and let me out. Two weeks ago the Nurse Practitioner ordered a urine test to check for UTI...a week later I emailed the NP to find out the results only to find out that the test was never done. I tried to find out where it fell apart but I was not privy to how it happened. I have not brought this all to the attention of the memory care director, [name removed]...though, I have spoken to him about my concerns about nursing and staffing issues and inconsistencies. I hesitated to tell him about being locked in the space and the urine test because I think they were just flukes. I did speak to the NP about the urine test that did not get done. I should let him know, though. On a good note, housekeeping has been doing a very good job of keeping my mom's room clean. She tends to be a hoarder, so they keep an eye on her room. Also, the Activity Team for memory care could not be better!! The team does a great job of engaging the residents. I do believe they are trying to get their staffing issues in order.

It seems the kitchen can not handle special dietary requirements. The doctor put my mom on a lactose free diet. The kitchen doesn't have any lactose free ingredients or even lactose free milk. Instead they just don't give her anything with lactose. So she ends up with very little at meals. I was there for lunch one day and all she got was a fish patty. And water. The doctor wants her to have a nutrition drink every day, like boost or ensure. Grand Haven has just stopped the nutrition drink all together because of the lactose free. But ensure makes one that is lactose free! It's extremely frustrating because we pay so much but they can't seem to handle a common dietary need.

The maid, [name removed], provides outstanding service. She cleans quickly and efficiently, and is always pleasant. Also, the maintenance guy [name removed] is quick and effective with repairs.

Danbury Westerville is a caring community. The nurses and caregivers are kind, compassionate and attentive. I highly recommend this facility to others looking.

It's very expensive, but it has a great community and the people they really really seem to care. I wish the food was better. They need some more variety. I feel like they really do it up for holidays, but for every day options, there's a lot of repetition and it seems like the black and minority groups don't participate as much.

Story Point is a beautiful facility with lots of activities, but they don't offer much in terms of care. They promise services but don't deliver. Their Memory Care unit is largely unsupervised and the staff doesn't seem to care about the residents. Story Point talks a good story, but they don't deliver. We asked if they organized any Alzheimer's support group or offered any classes for people dealing with a spouse with Alzheimer. For months, they assured us that they were organizing some training, but they never did anything.

People are very kind. You always get what you ask for or need.

Ludington Woods is located in our home town. This was the only facility we looked at, we heard recommendations by word of mouth. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful when asked questions.

My loved one is currently a resident at Holiday Inn at Cass Lake and everything has been very good for her, so far. The staff is very helpful. The other residents are friendly and reach out to newcomers. The meal choices appeal to a range of preferences. I would recommend this facility to others.

I've noticed a big difference in my Uncle since moving in. Although he is still not as social as I would like he is participating in some things. He loves the music and going to the common room to watch TV with the others. They have taken great care of him. I would recommend it.

First, I should tell you that my aunt moved from Dominion to Everlan (same company/campus, but now in Independent living). Things I liked about Dominion - smaller size, caring staff. The Activity director there really pulled my aunt out of her depression (and out of her room). The contracted Speech therapist and physical/occupational therapist were great and had a big impact on my aunt's quality of life. Hard to evaluate the meals as my aunt had a special soft diet due to swallowing issues, but they could accommodate her needs. The only area of concern (at both Dominion and Everlan) has been the top staff turnover (director, asst director).

It's a great place to live with friendly people that live there and staff. It was a trying time moving my Dad there but the staff have been great in helping him settle in and feel comfortable there.

It is expensive but they do have a lot of amenities. We had problems with the care staff supervisor when they got moved in. My parents no longer needed their services after a few months. Everything has been great since. I would recommend StoryPoint Chesterfield, they have been wonderful.

Most of the staff is caring and people friendly, some are more focused in their own convenience. The cost is high, but the people living there are treated like family and they offer a great selection of activities for every interest and have enough resident focused events that it off suits most of the cost. The rules are enforced, but administration is fair and willing to help those that need it adapt to Independence Village to make it their home.

My mom's recovery from a broken ankle led us to Glen Eagle. They offered a short-term apartment with supportive care staff and accommodated pets. The studio's back door offered convenience for her dog’s needs. During her stay, my mom appreciated the warm, welcoming staff and the opportunity to socialize - and so did her dog! However, a couple of issues arose: 1. A resident above inadvertently caused a hindrance by discarding bread near my mom's outdoor door, making it challenging with her wheelchair-bound status -- her dog consumed the bread and briefly fell sick. 2. While the dining experience offered varied and delicious meals, my mom noted a shortage of her preferred salads and green vegetables. The tempting desserts posed a bit of a challenge, but no complaints! Overall, Glen Eagle provided a supportive environment conducive to my mom's recovery. Despite the minor inconveniences, the facility's amenities, caring staff, and pet-friendly policy made it a positive experience.

I love the attention and familiarity with the residents.

Reasons we chose StroryPoint Knoxville West - recent renovations. Room size. Excellent sales staff. Cost being comparably lower than others. Location. Sales team has much more direct (and responsive) communication than the operations team.

Everyone is kind and helpful. And everyone knows your name. Which makes one feel special. I am a very picky eater, but my husband could not be more pleased with the food here.

My loved one is a resident at StoryPoint Chesterfield. I would recommend this facility to others. My suggestion: I would make sure to follow up with both the medical staff and the housekeeping. They do a great job, but sometimes don't get all the information needed to help out effectively.

I was previously a resident at StoryPoint Waterville and overall the experience was pretty good. However, I got a notice that my monthly cost was going to increase by $600, so I decided to move to a different facility.
