They have a good amount of activities but they could a few more. They do have an excellent staff that seems to really care about the residents. The food is good. It could be a little different, they could have a little more variety and they could also take advantage of the local farmers market during certain seasons. Overall we are pleased with our experience with The Hearth and would recommend them to anyone.

My husband passed away so I spent almost $9000 for 10 days. I did get some back but the those up front fees are hard. I liked the place a lot. They were very good. The memory unit is wonderful and they were very nice to him so I have no complaints. My husband had alzheimers so I couldn't judge if he got invoved in the activites or not. It was very expensive but I guess it's at good as anything else.

The reason that we chose Aurora Pond for our loved one was that they offered immediate availability for their cottages. Overall they are a very good community that we are happy with so far. The staff is friendly and they keep the community well maintained.

The staff here at Senior Star is really great, they are friendly and know everybody by name which is really impressive. The community is very clean and well taken care of. The apartments are spacious and they offer lots of activities. The location is outstanding for him as well as for the family. It is located near stores and restaurants but is also located within 15 minutes of our family. Senior Star is the best community in the area.

The staff friendliness is off the scale, I can't believe how nice they are. Initially there was some trouble deciding what care services my dad needed and their costs, but the level of care is top notch. They make sure his takes his medication, and help him to the bathroom, top notch care all around. I chose The Hearth because of the genuine sense of community between the residents and staff and that sense has grown the more I visit. I looked at more expensive facilities but The Hearth was the best fit.

Brand new facility. Very nice. Wide hallways. Large dining area. Studio is a little small but would work. 1 bedroom would work with room mate. 1 meal /day. Pay for extras. Does not accept Medicaid. Studio-$2300, 1 bedroom-$4300.

The staff there are great, but like everywhere runs short. Dining room is rather loud.

I would recommend, I would just add that it's a friendly and welcoming environment, with good care. [name removed]the sales rep was great to work with. The small size, 48 residents and 1 floor layout, country setting, were big factors in my parents choosing this location.

My dad reacted badly when we first moved him in. The staff stepped in quickly to help us. I would recommend. Other feedback: make sure that the StoryPoint staff evaluates your loved one to help determine the appropriate location and care needed. We assumed that our Dad could handle Independent Living. Turns out he couldn't. He hid his issues pretty well while at his own home (of 50 years). But when he moved to a new and different place, his decline was magnified.

Love to play Bingo and the food is amazing.

Its the people they are friendly and helpful.

I think the community has a really good, lively, and comfortable vibe. Especially for active seniors.

Personnel are friendly and caring. Maintenance is slow to react. It took them a couple of weeks to repair a broken drawer that could have been fixed in a couple of hours.

I would give the staff, apartment and main facility a good overall rating. Food and dining experience is poor. Sometimes the food is not worth eating and is not as warm as it could be. A lot of residents complain. Events are lacking in my opinion. They're fair. If I had known more about the situation I would not have moved here. It is not worth the price that they charge.

Care workers were so caring for my husband and saw to his needs !! My overall experience was good!

Toured Grace Haven with my brother and our mom, looking for a place for her to thrive during her last years with us. Grace Haven was a beautiful place with wonderful people! The chef gave my mom a box of fresh, homemade treats which she opened and sampled right away. We met with [name removed]who gave us a tour of the building and showed us what her personal apartment could look like. The residents were playing bingo when we got there and seemed to really enjoy themselves. They gave us an activity calendar which was full of a variety of different activities, my mom was very excited to see that. I gave 4 stars because the building was a little tricky to find originally since it sits off the road a bit.

The staff are friendly and helpful for the most part. However, we have noticed personal belongings have gone missing.

The staff is very good to my mom. And the younger kids that serve the food in dining room are absolutely wonderful. She does not get reminded or taken to the activities. It's my understanding she is to have cleaning services and life enrichment activities which she doesn't receive

I have been a resident of Independence Village in Traverse City for four months. It's a beautiful facility, classically designed with a variety of apartments. Three meals daily are served with regular choices and alternate choices. Food is usually quite good, but not always! The apartments are clean and neat and freshly painted when you moved in. Everything is taken care of for you, so the only real expense you have is rent. Assistance is offered through Coresocare on an as needed basis, and for additional cost. So it's perfect for anyone who lives independently and doesn't want nursing home care or assisted living care. The assistance here is not nursing staff but are caregivers. Everyone here is kind and helpful and generous. This is pretty much a new staff. There are Issues in the past that they are working to resolve and seem to be making progress.

Facility is very clean, I like how the staff brings the residents together in common areas but also lets a resident stay in the room if they want to. There seems to be frequent staff turnover however they do maintain a level quality of care. Occasionally short staffed on some days but our responsive to needs.
