The meals are really good. We picked this community, for the activities. The staff is amazing and very friendly. I would recommend to other families

It all starts with the top. The Executive Director has fantastic staff. Everything is good, from the dining to the activites. It all comes down to the people. They seem to attract reseidents and other families. We picked this community because of the price. Special credit to [names removed] who are unbelievably awesome. They have great people.

The community is very welcoming and the staff is friendly and supportive. The other residents are also very welcoming to new residents. There is a free continental type breakfast. But also a breakfast menu you can purchase cooked food. Lunch is not free, but they have a café restaurant you can order from. Dinner is free. Always a salad, a soup, 2 proteins, a potato type item and vegetable item. And a dessert item. And if you don't like the dinner they will always do a cheeseburger or grilled cheese or something like that.

Danbury was an excellent value. The staff were awesome. I wasn't really fond of some of the aides they hired through an outside service, but some were awesome. The apartment was excellent. It was roomy, and they did a good job with housekeeping. It had a little balcony where my mom could sit outside and enjoy nature. She really enjoyed living there. She was friendly with the staff and made a lot of friends. We were sorry to see her go from there, but she just needed more care.

One of the things that impressed us so much was the fact that this facility has Enhanced Living (what they are labeling Assisted Living) on site. That gives the added care of a nurse on the premises to address any issues that could come up, especially since Mom is dealing with some pretty significant memory problems and she has fallen a few times. The Administrator is super supportive and is helping us work through her struggles to give up the car and be a more cooperative person as her condition is changing. That is an amazing help. I rated Meals/Dining and Activities at a 4, but they're improving.

Atria at River Trail was my second choice. They just didn't offer the bridges option. It really was a great facility and I had a great tour experience, just not my very first pick.

My father lives at Independence Village in the Story Point assisted-living side now. He started in the apartments at Independence Village in a 2-bedroom with balcony. As he needed more care, he moved to the Assisted side. It’s very clean, safety focused, professional, and fun! It’s certainly a place to go to if you want to keep living! The food is outstanding. And we have often joined dad for fine dinners, complete with white table cloths and napkins. And “bring your own” wine! Activities are plenty for everyone. My dad has tried and enjoyed so many new things with art, exercise, special programs, and field trips, lunch out at new places…I hope such a great place is available when my husband and I reach that stage. It’s a great community, and can really handle changing healthcare needs. Independence Village and Story Point are an outstanding choice! Go visit and check them out. Have a meal there. It’s an answer to prayers.

We thought Independence Village of Avon was okay. The facility itself seemed really nice, and I was impressed with it. They just need to work on their sales tactic. We found them to be extremely pushy, which was a turn-off.

We have been totally satisfied with the Bayfield community, we absolutely love it and we would absolutely recommend them to other families based on the experience we have had so far. The staff members are so helpful, nice and very welcoming. It has been a wonderful experience .

Storypoint Middletown is very clean and beautiful facility. All the residents are very nice and well taken care of.

Love everything

It is a joy to visit Devonshire. The staff enjoys what they're doing and it shows. The residents are relaxed and content. My aunt [name removed] loved everything about living here.

My mother has only been there about 6 months but I think she is enjoying being there. The mgt, staff and residents are very welcoming and attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility.

I like how the residents and staff helped me acclimate to the new lifestyle. The staff are hard workers. I am able to attend a lot of activities and enjoy outings.

We've been very pleased with this facility and couldn't be happier to have mom here. They keep this place impeccable. It's always clean and decorated nicely, everything is always in its place. The staff is awesome. They're great about keeping me updated and always seem to be interacting with the residents. The Community Specialist is great, too. She's awesome to work with! Always bubbly and happy, interacting with the residents, even eats meals with them. They offer a good variety of activities, there's something going on everyday. They have an activities schedule that they distribute and also a weekly meal schedule. Mom recently joined a book club, which kind of surprised me but is great! They're really good about keeping the residents interactive and social. They also offer transportation for grocery shopping on Mondays that the residents can sign up for. One thing we really like is the underground parking garage. It's nice that the residents don't have to go out in the weather to get to their vehicle, especially during the cold months. Mom loves it here and loves her apartment. I did my research during our search for a facility and was told by several people that this is one of the best facilities around. Even mom's Doctor told us that it is. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.

The presentation of the food is good, and it's colorful. They make it nice and healthy for the residents. My sibling was there for Thanksgiving, and mentioned that the food was really good. The activiites calendar that comes out looks really great. We feel like we picked a good community, and we are happy. My loved one seems really content. The value for the money is good.
