Please make sure all your staff are aware of the rules if there is a Covid outbreak, because of a very RUDE staff member I may add, my family was denied to see my grandmother, and was kicked out a few days before she passed, because there was a Covid outbreak we received an email stating we could go, and the front desk let us back as well. A member of my family was approached by a staff in a very rude manner and was told she needed to leave and that we could come back until the Covid outbreak was gone with. We were denied our goodbye. We had to say goodbye to a lifeless body. If she’s going to work in caregiving she needs to be trained on how to interact with families . We didn’t get a proper goodbye and she passed away without a single visitor the whole week. No family should EVER endure this kind of pain. Very shameful.

My mom was previously a resident at Lakewood Reserve. What I'm not happy about is that we were kept from my mom during her last days because the staff didn't have the correct information about the covid restrictions in Memory Care and my mother died alone. I over paid the previous month and now everytime I email about it, I get no response. If you don't feel that I should get any money back then simply say that. We felt that we had formed a relationship with the Memory Care staff and we gave gifts to all of the staff to thank them for caring for our mom and we have never heard from anyone. Not even a card after my mom's death.

My loved one is currently a resident at Winslow Court and overall things have been okay for her at this facility. The friendliness is great. The cleanliness and the staff are good. The meals, activities, and value for cost are okay. At this facility, some things are good and some things are not so good. I am undecided on whether or not I would recommend Winslow Court to others.

Based on the experience we have had so far with Clayton Oaks Living, we can say that the food definitely needs major improvement. They seem to be short staffed, but most of he caregivers at the community are nice.

We toured The Palms at Sun City during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility was pleasant and clean and the staff seemed extremely kind and engaged with the residents. However, the whole facility felt dated and kind of dark.

We toured Montebello during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility was okay and our tour was good. However, it was very hospital like and did not feel welcoming.

The building is old and maintenance seems to be on a tyranny-of-the-urgent basis, rather than on an intentional plan for updating. There seems to be a lot of bureaucratic red tape before any change can occur due to out-of-state ownership (i.e., food service and quality is not good at all, but suggestions for change make little difference). However, most of the staff seem very patient with the residents and listen well, even if their hands are tied to make changes due to corporate logjams. The activities are great, but the beloved activities director recently moved on to accommodate her family situation, so it remains to be seen whether this "shining light" of Thunderbird life will continue to be a plus. My parents love their accommodations, but after a year, there are still maintenance issues that remain unresolved. Our family is trying to patiently await possible improvements at this community before considering a change of address for our parents.

As with most places like this, there is a lot of turnover which means frequent shortages in staffing and delays in servicing residents. My loved one has a degenerative and fatal condition and cannot pivot well. This means the easy way out is to require 2 caregivers on transfers and a higher care$$$ level. Training is available to teach caregivers how to transfer with one caregiver. So far $$$$ for two caregivers. Food is improving but has a long way to go to improve preparation, execution and selection of other facilities known for excellent food. Care is improving but has a way to go. The Director of Assisted Living is listening to residents. A change in ownership seems to have focused more and more on the bottom line and our perks seem to be whittled slowly away.

They need more help & caregivers that will give my Mom better assistance!

It did not feel at home, and was not a good fit for my loved one. It was a larger community.

I toured this community. I wasn't that impressed with the facility and overall cleanliness/appearance.

My sibling picked the community, because it was closest to me. It's a beautiful community. The nursing staff just doesn't seem to be very cooperative or helpful. The only time you get a call from them is if something bad happened.

They are having some staffing issues, so they are cycling through a lot of people. They are having issues with the food, the cleaning service and the activities. The new person who took over the cooking is better and is trying alternative recipes with more vegetables and fresher foods, especially at dinner. I am seeing an improvement there. They also have a new activities director who is working in improving those. A big thing I noticed was that staff were coming in at odd hours while she was sleeping and she is independent living. She brought it up in a meeting and they seemed to listen to her suggestion. I would recommend them, they are trying to make things better and we are hoping to see more improvements.

Our loved one had a brief experience there. We weren't' happy with the service she was getting in regards to her medications. That was my only big complaint.

Initially everything was good. Unfortunately they have had a lot of turnover. Lost their Activities Director (hasn't been replaced), have lost 3 chefs (supposedly this last one is decent), just replaced their Manager (new one seems good, old one was not friendly). My Mother complains that there is not a lot to do and they don't have a driver to get them around. Don't know if other sites are having similar manning issues or not. . .

The director of nursing and her assistant left shortly after my dad moved in, which was frustrating. Things seemed to spiral down after that. We have found in all of these facilities that there is constant turn over with employees. We had a few issues here. No one was able to get my dad to shower, so I had to do it. His room was dirty often and laundry wasn't done timely. We were paying extra to have services for him that were not being done. Medications were being left in his room. Overall, I wish I had done more homework before placing my dad here. I do not think it was the best fit for him.

I toured Thunderbird Senior Living and in my opinion, it was too much walking. At the time, I was looking for my mom and stepdad. My mom never would've been able to walk that far and it would have been a long distance to the dining room and so forth for my stepdad with a cane.

On the surface, it looks clean, which is one of the things that attracted us to them. But once you spend time there, you start noticing things that are not clean. However, even so, it was much cleaner compared to other facilities we toured. Some of the staff are super friendly and helpful, and others don't give you the time of day. The biggest problems we experienced were with maintenance and the medical team. Because the residents can push their own alert buttons, the staff don't respond to them quickly or take them as a serious matter. One night when I was there visiting my family member, another resident told me she was having a stroke, so I sat there with her while we pushed her call button. Eventually the staff would come by and tell her "Oh, you're okay" and then leave. I sat with her for several hours before someone took her back to her rom to take care of her. While my family member was there, he had fallen. They didn't properly document it or let us know that it happened. When we asked about it, they told us he fell asleep on the floor and decided to stay there, which did not match up with what hospice had reported to us. Maintenance requests took quite a lot of effort to be taken care of. We had a problem with theft perpetrated by a maintenance staff member that has since been resolved but was difficult to deal with in an already difficult time. Often our phone calls weren't returned. The food I tried was okay, but the other residents, including my family member, hated it. There was some staff turnover, and the director left while we were there, so we were tossed around to a lot of different people. The lead nurse is probably one of the most helpful people there. Also [name removed] at the front desk is great. She has been there even before ownership changed to Pacifica. She's definitely the face of the place. The residents feel she's one of the only ones who cares about them. She genuinely takes a true interest in every person who's there. Without her, they would feel like the don't have a voice. We appreciated her extra set of eyes for our family member. If we needed something, or if I needed to know how he was truly doing, I could get an honest answer. The other staff would just say "Oh, he's fine" when I knew that wasn't the case. In general, I was disappointed in the reaction time of the medical staff, especially if it was an emergency. I would not recommend them, especially for residents who need more care. The independent portion seemed perfectly fine. They have a lot of activates to choose from. But if your person needs extra care, it's not a place I would recommend.

Our experience in Memory Care was much better than the Assisted Living side. The Memory Care unit staff were more attentive, took care of medications, and bandages for my loved one. The staff were loving and pleasant with my loved one. The hospice nurses were wonderful as well. The Assisted Living side of the community I was not pleased with our experience overall. The front desk staff members were nice to work with on the assisted living side of the building, as well.

It's good but they are very disorganized. This is why I gave them a 3. Meals are tasty and they offer a variety of foods during meal times. Dining situation is 30 minutes to a hour to get seated at a table for meals due to staffing shortages for the kitchen staff.
