Very impressed with the director who gave us the tour. Very good meal. Definitely on our short list.

Premium package is avail for $1795 (includes 3 meals plus more services). Community fee is negotiable. 1 BRs with kitchen. Includes 2 meals a day plus house-keeping every other week for $1,795 Transportation is included for an 11 mile radius. There are also scheduled trips to grocery story, etc. They have a great library - they use the honor system. There is also s large common area. Emergency pendant is included. All utilities are included, including phone. Phone is linked to the pendent. Also, if you knock the phone off the hook it calls front desk. Includes two door checks per day 9am and 9pm. She said the staff is happy so that's a good sign. One of the maids has been there for 8 year. The property was renovated 2 years ago. They do not have washers and dryers in the apartments. Laundry facilities are located throughout the community - no quarters are needed. They also have staff that will do personal laundry for $7.50 per load. Furnished guest appts are avail at no extra charge until furniture is avail (usually a week max). Their pricing is for independent living so you only pay for what you need. Manager is super nice and really wants to show us the property. She loves working there.

Wonderful facility. My only issue was Sara quoted me $1350. over the phone. When I arrived for the tour, I was told the cost was $1395. Not a big difference, but it would be helpful to know the proper cost ahead.

I liked this one as well but my father is refusing AGAIN :( I will keep you posted.

We had lunch with the manager which was very good. Mom liked the one bedroom except it did not have a balcony or patio to sit out on. They had a nice patio in the back to be able to sit out but it was shared with smokers which did not please Mom. I was impressed by the number of activities they had scheduled on a daily basis.

I toured The Groves by Senior Lifestyle and our tour experience was good. We chose another community because when I saw groups of people out in the open at different levels of decline, it didn't sit well with me. I felt like if they needed help there wasn't enough staff. They were all kind of grouped together in a large group and I couldn't tell if there was enough staff to take care of that large group.

This was a good community. It didn't have the homey feeling we wanted. The residents looked happy.

Everybody is super friendly and always willing to fix any issues as soon as possible. They are short staffed. Housekeeping is supposed to be cleaning once a week and it has happened once. We had medication issues, missing his medicine for a day. I honestly think this is due to a staffing shortage. They provide a variety of meal options. They said they have transportation for doctors appointments as well as a shuttle that comes for the residents. Any communication has come from the executive director and he seems right on it. They have a portal that you can make your monthly payments on. We have had issues getting logged into it as of now.

It's still a relatively new experience, so the jury is still out so to speak. I'm definitely not sorry we put my family member here. She's getting used to it. It's always a transition going from your own place to community living. But overall it's been good. She moved in during Covid, so there were some challenges related to that, but things have been getting better. One of those challenges was fewer activities, but they're just now starting those back up again. She generally likes the food and is not losing weight. The staff have been good. When we've had any sort of problem, they've addressed it without delay. And the director has been more than helpful and has gone above and beyond.

When we fist moved in, when you walked in, there was such an atmosphere of happiness and health. It was just wonderful. I thought "This is where I want to be." I liked not having to cook my own meals. They are struggling right now with the pandemic, so it's not as good as it was when we first got here. But they're doing the best that they can. When we first moved in, it was definitely a 5/5. But the food and general service has gone downhill a bit. They can't get the help they need to keep it clean like they would like to, but they're working around the clock and doing the best they can with the staff they have. And when they do come in and clean, they do a superb job. Right now they're at every other week, instead of every week. They're just having a hard time meeting the needs of everyone. The staff are very friendly, although you can tell they're stressed. They lost their social director, who was top notch, and a big part of the friendly atmosphere, but that's starting to come back. Their activities are outstanding. Even amidst the challenges, I am thrilled to be here. I like the community. Our church on-site is wonderful too. There's just a good support system here. It's nice to go to the dining room and sit together and visit and get to know each other. Of course at this age, we repeat ourselves often. But I love the relationships I have with the residents and the friendliness of the community. I image there are Covid complications everywhere, as there are here. But overall, it is top notch here.

when walking in you can feel the environment is just different. Every department has a loving and caring heart. The housekeeping dept. is on top of keeping the place clean and tidy. Spoke with a red head gal and her response to why she tries so hard just astounded me! she replied I try the best I can because having a clean and tidy property is key to keeping the residents I care for so deeply safe from illness. if I do my part that helps them not add to the issues they have already and plus I want the family to know their loved ones are safe and secure. it is scary for everyone and if I can bring some peace of mind to the whole situation I want to. i am protective with my father as i am sure you are with your family member and wherever i can help may that be cleaning, holding a conversation or just being a cheerleader i will do my best whole heartedly that is my goal. they deserve a place to not worry I think this whole company is special in that way. then told me i hope you have a great visit for they are important at this stage of life. she brought a tear to my eye for you can see the compassion in her soul. what a great feeling to know my father is in such a special caring place.

Lakewood Reserve in some respects are decent but they have missed the boat when it comes to food preparation. They don’t seem to have a clue nor do they seem to want mitigate the issue. Elderly people have enough problem chewing and or cutting up their food. LR thinks that serving chunks of chicken that are the size of an inch to inch and half size are acceptable! They’re not! I also saw a woman there struggling to eat a piece of meat because she didn’t have the coordination anymore to cut the meat herself. So she was forking a steak and trying to eat it like that. Pathetic. The lack of observation of this to me is absurd!!!! Get it right, Lakewood Reserve. I have photos to prove this as well!

I think Jamestown is a great place for many seniors. They have great activities and the staff does its best. Unfortunately, in our situation, my father had health problems beyond what they could take care of and he needed to be in a skilled nursing home. He went downhill quickly and only stayed at Jamestown for a few months. [name removed] recommended some care that was very important to dad and his own primary care refused it. When we got him to the hospital we found out about chronic heart failure, blood clots in legs and lungs and several other undiagnosed conditions that should have been looked into but were not by his physician and we appreciate the help Jamestown gave us in getting these diagnosed. We now have the help he needs. Unfortunately he was on a do not move order for the last 5 days in the home and the decline in dad will probably not be reversible at this point.

Thunderbird Senior Living suits me fine. I like the location. Close to my medical needs,pharmacy, bank and church. Food is good. Plenty of activities. My apartment is very comfortable.

Very nice facilities; however, the apartments are dated. [Name removed] was very helpful in providing needed information.

My husband has been a resident at VP for almost a year. He has done so well there, as a direct result of the loving care he has received from [name removed], the director, and all of the wonderful caregivers. [Name removed] personally trained every employee and is hands on every day. Makes all the residents feel loved and cared for. She is an amazing person and, in my opinion, is the best! [Name removed], the Nurse, is also wonderful and caring and always there to help and answer any question you might have. [Names removed] and now [name removed], the chefs, are great as well. The food is delicious, and if there is something the resident doesn't like, they prepare something that does appeal to them. One thing that I don't see any other facility doing, is once or twice a month, [name removed] has an activity that includes the entire resident's family. It may be a buffet, or a Bar-B-Que, a tea, luncheon, etc. It is always fabulous & James does a great job with the food. The main thing that I absolutely love is that there is a "family atmosphere" there that you will not find any place else, I am convinced. I have tried others! Please give this facility a try.

My mother lived here a while ago. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. The people were nice and the dining area was probably the second best in town, in my opinion. The food was very good and they offered open dining so you were able to get food whenever you wanted. However, the facility had a community washer and dryer so you had to wait in line just to get your clothes done. The cleanliness was good, though. Her room was cleaned once a week and had her sheets washed. It had a good value to it as well.

I enjoyed this tour it was nice and clean. The staff was nice and answered all of my questions. They had a waiting list and I wasn't interested in waiting so I had to choose another community.

I was touring this facility when I was looking for a new place to live and I did not like this place at all. They don't offer much in amenities or activities and the location wasn't ideal, to no fault of their own. I didn't see anything wrong with the cleanliness or the staff, though.

We toured this community for care for my mom. This was a nice commumity. We liked the cleanliness of the community and the staff were nice and caring. They offer a nice variety of meals. Activiites are offered. We would suggest that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one.
