It's still a relatively new experience, so the jury is still out so to speak. I'm definitely not sorry we put my family member here. She's getting used to it. It's always a transition going from your own place to community living. But overall it's been good. She moved in during Covid, so there were some challenges related to that, but things have been getting better. One of those challenges was fewer activities, but they're just now starting those back up again. She generally likes the food and is not losing weight. The staff have been good. When we've had any sort of problem, they've addressed it without delay. And the director has been more than helpful and has gone above and beyond.

When we fist moved in, when you walked in, there was such an atmosphere of happiness and health. It was just wonderful. I thought "This is where I want to be." I liked not having to cook my own meals. They are struggling right now with the pandemic, so it's not as good as it was when we first got here. But they're doing the best that they can. When we first moved in, it was definitely a 5/5. But the food and general service has gone downhill a bit. They can't get the help they need to keep it clean like they would like to, but they're working around the clock and doing the best they can with the staff they have. And when they do come in and clean, they do a superb job. Right now they're at every other week, instead of every week. They're just having a hard time meeting the needs of everyone. The staff are very friendly, although you can tell they're stressed. They lost their social director, who was top notch, and a big part of the friendly atmosphere, but that's starting to come back. Their activities are outstanding. Even amidst the challenges, I am thrilled to be here. I like the community. Our church on-site is wonderful too. There's just a good support system here. It's nice to go to the dining room and sit together and visit and get to know each other. Of course at this age, we repeat ourselves often. But I love the relationships I have with the residents and the friendliness of the community. I image there are Covid complications everywhere, as there are here. But overall, it is top notch here.

when walking in you can feel the environment is just different. Every department has a loving and caring heart. The housekeeping dept. is on top of keeping the place clean and tidy. Spoke with a red head gal and her response to why she tries so hard just astounded me! she replied I try the best I can because having a clean and tidy property is key to keeping the residents I care for so deeply safe from illness. if I do my part that helps them not add to the issues they have already and plus I want the family to know their loved ones are safe and secure. it is scary for everyone and if I can bring some peace of mind to the whole situation I want to. i am protective with my father as i am sure you are with your family member and wherever i can help may that be cleaning, holding a conversation or just being a cheerleader i will do my best whole heartedly that is my goal. they deserve a place to not worry I think this whole company is special in that way. then told me i hope you have a great visit for they are important at this stage of life. she brought a tear to my eye for you can see the compassion in her soul. what a great feeling to know my father is in such a special caring place.

Lakewood Reserve in some respects are decent but they have missed the boat when it comes to food preparation. They don’t seem to have a clue nor do they seem to want mitigate the issue. Elderly people have enough problem chewing and or cutting up their food. LR thinks that serving chunks of chicken that are the size of an inch to inch and half size are acceptable! They’re not! I also saw a woman there struggling to eat a piece of meat because she didn’t have the coordination anymore to cut the meat herself. So she was forking a steak and trying to eat it like that. Pathetic. The lack of observation of this to me is absurd!!!! Get it right, Lakewood Reserve. I have photos to prove this as well!

I think Jamestown is a great place for many seniors. They have great activities and the staff does its best. Unfortunately, in our situation, my father had health problems beyond what they could take care of and he needed to be in a skilled nursing home. He went downhill quickly and only stayed at Jamestown for a few months. [name removed] recommended some care that was very important to dad and his own primary care refused it. When we got him to the hospital we found out about chronic heart failure, blood clots in legs and lungs and several other undiagnosed conditions that should have been looked into but were not by his physician and we appreciate the help Jamestown gave us in getting these diagnosed. We now have the help he needs. Unfortunately he was on a do not move order for the last 5 days in the home and the decline in dad will probably not be reversible at this point.

Thunderbird Senior Living suits me fine. I like the location. Close to my medical needs,pharmacy, bank and church. Food is good. Plenty of activities. My apartment is very comfortable.

Very nice facilities; however, the apartments are dated. [Name removed] was very helpful in providing needed information.

My mother lived here a while ago. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. The people were nice and the dining area was probably the second best in town, in my opinion. The food was very good and they offered open dining so you were able to get food whenever you wanted. However, the facility had a community washer and dryer so you had to wait in line just to get your clothes done. The cleanliness was good, though. Her room was cleaned once a week and had her sheets washed. It had a good value to it as well.

I enjoyed this tour it was nice and clean. The staff was nice and answered all of my questions. They had a waiting list and I wasn't interested in waiting so I had to choose another community.

I was touring this facility when I was looking for a new place to live and I did not like this place at all. They don't offer much in amenities or activities and the location wasn't ideal, to no fault of their own. I didn't see anything wrong with the cleanliness or the staff, though.

We toured this community for care for my mom. This was a nice commumity. We liked the cleanliness of the community and the staff were nice and caring. They offer a nice variety of meals. Activiites are offered. We would suggest that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

I also toured Brookdale Southgate. The person that took me around was very friendly, but the place was very confined and dark. There were long dark hallways. My thought was, if I was going to be in an apartment all day, I want to be able to leave and go somewhere like a nice courtyard or a walking trail. This facility did not provide that.

The staff seem friendly and helpful. My mother-in-law is very unhappy with the food, however and we are sad that she isn't able to have tasty meals when she is elderly and paying alot of money. Breakfast is pretty decent. Other meals are unimaginative, under-seasoned and overcooked. Fruit is often not ripe. Guest meals very small for active people; my husband and I avoid joining her for meals. At one point the activities director left and a resident was leading exercises. This didn't seem right. My mother-in-law didn't feel the resident did a very god job. Maybe there is too much focus on making money off the residents and not enough focus on quality? Thank for asking - please look at the quality of food issue!

The Pueblo Norte did not meet our expectations. The rooms were very small. We did not like the culture. We ended up deciding on another community that fit my father's needs.

During my tour of the Brookdale Southgate, I noticed that the place was not very clean. I did not like the energy there. When the tour guide took me to see the apartment, it was small and the bedroom did not have a window. Seeing this made my choice to choose another community a lot easier.

This is a larger community than we were looking for. They offer independent and assisted living. They are also working on some remodeling on their memory care unit. The people we met were nice and the community seemed clean.

I did not get to take a tour of this community as once I spoke to them we realized dad would be better in another community. This community is more for assisted living and we needed memory care. They were great and upfront making sure that we had all the information we needed to make the right choice for dad. They cared more about the resident and not the money.

I like the care that my mom is getting here. The staff is very friendly and caring. They have nice activities , but my mom can not participate with others. The community is nice and very clean. I recommend this community for great care to others

The staff is very friendly and treats their patients with a lot of compassion and respect. There are a few areas they could work on. All in all, we are happy with our experience at Brookdale Bear Creek in Colorado Springs.

Their skilled nursing is understaffed. It is a wonderful, beautiful facility in a wonderful area. The staff is always very friendly. The food was good overall.
