I thought the rooms were small and the facility a bit dated

The community was very nice. Brooke the lady that gave us the tour was nice and super helpful and friendly. The residents were not even dressed to go to lunch and I did like that. The place just did not give the good impression.

This community is nice and clean. I was not always happy with the staff members here. They did offer activities to those who wanted to participate to stay active. I think family should look at the community before making a decision .

A lot of things were promised when we were interviewed but. Not as nice now as they started out being. Nurses messed up medicine. Gave my family wrong Meds even after they told them it was wrong. Finally convinced them not theirs. They never want u to complain and threaten u with extra fees if u argue with them. They tell u one thing then change at there discretion. The food is always the same. Need to change it. I don't trust them. They changed my family members Meds without doctors permission messed them up. Now they r 2 months behind on their treatment. Just beware. Ask questions. They work for us not u for them. Medicare told us not to put up with it and report them. Hopefully things get better.

We were only there for a short time, before we decided to move. She wasn't happy there. She had major complaints about the food. They would only get sandwiches at night, and they were pretty bad. They said more people would be moving in, and people seemed to leave instead. They didn't do hardly any of the activities, and there weren't really very many socializing opportunities. For what they were charging, it just didn't seem worth it.

We placed my mother in law in the memory care unit recently. We were not happy with the care received and moved her to another facility after about 6 weeks. The marketing person made it sound wonderful but the reality is it is a warehouse for old folks. My main issue with this facility is that it lacks proper supervision of the caretakers that work here. Each time I visited, the residents were all sitting around the living room area and the caretakers were in another room talking to each other. There was never anyone at the nurses station which sits in the middle of the unit for viewing the entire operation. Lack of communication was another big issue. One day we noticed a big bump and scratch on Moms forehead and asked what happened. No one knew when or how it happened. We got answers like "it didn't happen on my shift." Apparently, there is little or no communication between the shifts. So we sat down with the administration to discuss these issues and we were promised a weekly call to discuss Moms progress. Well, guess what....the first weekly call was not made to us. Each time we would visit mom either did not have her glasses or false teeth. When we asked about them they had a bag full of glasses & teeth for us to look through. We found her glasses but she left this facility without her false teeth & they were never found. The doctor ordered compression socks for mom. When we asked why they were not put on mom, the staff said "she said no" and because of "Patients Rights", they could not put them on her. Seems like they hide behind "Patients Rights" to make their jobs easier. Bottom line, look for another facility for your loved one....you will pay more, but the care will be better.

We have had a few years experience with the community, both with their assisted living as well as memory care, and overall I'd our experience was not a great one. Things went well for the first year that our loved ones were here, but in the years following that there seemed to be a steady decline in the quality of the care and service. The care in the memory unit was not very attentive or responsive, and after a health scare that could easily have been dealt with proactively we moved our loved one to a different community.

I had an appointment scheduled at 5pm on Tuesday July 1st. I arrived about 4:45pm. Amber at the reception desk was unaware of the appointment, but called back to Lisa Swafford. Apparently, Lisa had 'needed to leave' and Amber was not sure when she would be back. She gave me a packet of information and took my contact numbers for Lisa to call me first thing today. I have not heard from Lisa or anyone from the Villas at this point. It is 1:15pm. It is an attractive environment. The menu looked limited to me, unless there is a larger 'always available' menu. Lots of construction going on as well. Will look over the brochure tonight. I am giving 2 stars because I have no idea what the community offers as I did not tour it.

For regular assisted living facility they’re okay, but for memory care they suck. Their primary interest is money. For memory care the food … they just bring it out, set it down, and hope people eat it. The parking is okay. The medication management was not good.

The communication is terrible, there is no communication between the managers and the workers. In other words, I will go to the director of nursing saying things need to be done and they put it in their little computer and I go to the workers and they say they've never heard anything about it. I know personally from my loved ones room, I walk in there and his pajamas are on the chair, they're dirty, the sheets that are wet from the night before are on the chair, trash is not picked up like I was told it would be. My loved one is still there and I'm hoping things will improive, everytime I move them it seems liek things will take a turn for the worse. I tell them to not ask my loved one if they want to go eat, just go ahead and take them there, that's another thing they told me they would do and aren't. I went there specifically because it was a nice looking facility and they had good activities but it's not what I thought it would be.

It looks great, is clean, and is affordable. I believe the assisted living part would be a good place for independent living, but be very cautious about choosing it if you or a loved one needs assistance. It was usually difficult to find anyone to help after the office staff left at 5:00. The dining hours are limited, and the staff in the dining room is as well. The receptionists were always friendly and welcoming. The nursing office staff was adequate. We felt the management and resident assistants however were unfriendly, and uncaring. Calls for help in the room were not always answered, and when they were, the staff showed up late and sometimes acted indignant. We had enough disappointing experiences there that it prompted us to leave for fear of injury and neglect.

One brief tour and I was out of there. The staff lives for FOX News and has every television set on it. I certainly don't want to expose my parent to a daily dose of brainwashing in his final years.

My father is a resident and we are getting him out as soon as possible. His health is suffering because of one thing - the food. Residents have been complaining to management for the almost two years he has been there, about the salt in the food. It falls on deaf ears. Some things are so salty that he has to send them back. He had a heart attack last year, [removed] and the cardiologist says his sodium levels continue to be very high. Since food is a major component of an independent living facility, I would not recommend this place to anybody.

The Heron of Palm Coast had a major bedbug and flee infestation. My sister only stayed [date removed] and I just received a non- detailed bill for over [fee removed] dollars. They didn't administer her medication in a time manner which caused additional medical problems for her condition. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. If you pass by the location ask any of the residents sitting outside each day will be willing to speak with you. [name removed] has been wonderful in helping me throughout the whole process of finding optional locations along with other resources.

1. Their head nurse is extremely rude and will scream at people when she gets frustrated. She will belittle and talk nasty to people. Their food is disgusting, you can taste that it came straight out of a can and no effort towards the people that are paying to be there is made.

She doesn't get her meds on time. They don't answer her call bell. They rarely clean or do laundry. She has had to put clean sheets on the bed by herself. She hates the food and often makes something in her apartment.

If a 0 was an option it would be my choice. They do not do what they say or promise you and their staff steals the patients property. The management was dishonest and uncaring. It's bad when an EMT calls you at 3:00 am and says get your mighty the H out of here they are not caring for her. They left her sitting the first day bed bound in the dark and nothing to eat all day. They stole her large wheel chair that was ordered for her. Stole her blood pressure cuff that was mine, stole her blankets and were over all a horrible place. When I brought her up from the lunch room a roach fell out of her hair. Zero is what they deserve

Not what I expected. Several residents from mental health. One ran the wheelchair into me. Lack of help.

The people who actually do the caregiving for residents are great. However when you have to deal with their corporate office be prepared for helpful staff who are all about money. No compassion or grace given after loved ones dies and the spouse can’t manage her affairs. It has taken about 2 months to get affairs in order and they have been paid but bc they kept sending pymt to the acct that had to be closed they continue to charge nsf fees even though I have made sure bill was paid.

Let me just give a list: We had a signed “All Inclusive” Contract. They changed these conditions without informing us. Never received notice. They stated that it was mailed but could not provide a copy of said letter. They added $[fee removed] worth of “enhanced” services. Imagine getting that bill. They insisted that our Mom needed a wheelchair. No problem, we got her on asap. She fell out of this wheelchair and broke her foot because they just left her sitting in it. Bedsores started after she broke her foot. All of her clothes and linen disappeared, despite the fact that her name was on EVERYTHING. We were charged incontinent supplies for several months after hospice took over and was providing those items. They started giving her and charging for protein shakes without informing us. They started puréing her food without a doctor’s consent or informing us which led to a system backup. She ended up in the hospital because she was throwing up feces. This is just a small list.
