It's a nice facility, friendly staff,clean, and warm atmosphere but quite expensive when you start to have the add ons for each level of care and then add on the medication.

We really liked that this community was family owner, however we weren't sure how the care would be because of that and deterred us from this community.

I have mixed feelings about Dominion. I think they were a very good facility in a lot of ways. It had all the bells and whistles and looked pretty. The people were very nice and welcoming. The staff seemed to genuinely care. But my love done was only there a month, during which time she had four major falls, a broken clavicle, repeated UTIs, the last of which resulted in sepsis and her subsequent death. When I would address them not cleaning her properly, they told me that patients have rights and they can't force them to take a bath. I feel like their actions contributed to her death. Multiple times when she went to the hospital, they sent the wrong resident's medical records, and the hospital had to call them to obtain the correct records (which was concerning because of her penicillin allergy). Dominion was was very kind to her and good to her otherwise. The aides told me how much they liked her and wanted to help her. They always answered my calls. But their nursing care and hygiene care was not as good as it should have been. They repeatedly told me they were not a skilled nursing facility. But basic hygiene of changing Depends and helping with showers is basic care.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a really nice community and friendly staff but wasn't going to work for our loved one

It is very clean and feels like you are walking into a hotel. They are helpful but whenever he has pushed his button the response time has been very slow. In the first week or 2 they also missed giving him his medications on a few different occasions. He absolutely loves the lady who drives him to his appointments- from what we have seen the staff have always been friendly. It it the nicest place out of all of the ones that we looked at. My loved one is getting involved and trying to make the best out of it. I would just tell others to make sure to stay on top of things.

The assisted living side gets all of the attention the best activities, dining experiences, more staff, etc. The memory care side seems to be the place to "put" the residents until they die. The commons area where the TV is located is dark, uncomfortable chairs, and not homey. They are extremely understaffed for this population and the ones they do have aren't properly trained. The management is aware of the issue with staffing and we are told they are working on it. When I went to visit last week, there were 3 ladies with bruised areas on their face where they had fallen in the same week. That tells you they aren't properly supervised or staffed. On a positive note, the management is very responsive to my calls and concerns and I believe they truly want things to improve. I just think they should be working alternative schedules to fill in the staffing gaps until it's resolved. I don't see that happening. I am currently on a waiting list at another facility and will be moving my mom.

[name removed], LPN, in the Rosedale Unit, is Awesome. She is very Professional and Goes Above and Beyond for the residents in her Unit. Although short staffed and overworked, [name removed] always has a Smile and is very respectful to all residents and Family. She is very kind, compassionate and Professional. If you had other employees with her Qualities you would have more satisfied patients. [name removed] should be Recognized for her Outstanding Performance and Receive a Cash Award.

When we moved my loved one into The Canopy at Warner Robins they were fully staffed with no issues. Within a week, one by one people started leaving. Before my loved one moved out there were only 2 ladies on the day shift that were working part time and they were the best ones there, the others were not the best. The weekends were especially hard and they brought in agency employees to try to help. Unfortunately since they were short staffed, that affected other areas of the facility and we were disappointed with the experience overall.

This is a locked memory care area. Communication was good with us regarding my loved one. This is all on one floor. Activities included arts and crafts, exercise and puzzles. That was all I seen for activities. The residents were friendly and made my loved one feel welcome. Over a period a time, no one wanted to sit with her after that. I don't know if her behavior had something to do with that or not.

The biggest issue we have had with The Canopy is responsiveness from the staff and overall communication. There was not a lot of direction on medications and how that all works. I think they could have done a better job with explaining everything up front and helping to assist to make things run smoother.

We asked this community about covid vaccines and were told that they could not reveal who had vaccines and who did not and i was not impressed with this at all. I felt like if my mother was going to be here I needed to know this to know that she was protected.

Sometimes when you walk in, there is nobody there so anyone can just walk in and we thought that was kind of shocking. I think they could use improvement on communication to families on things that are going on within the facility. Overall it is a nice place that is clean and the staff members are friendly. I just think there are some things that they could improve on.

We were not big fans of the layout of the building. The tour also seemed rushed and they did not know that we were coming.

We chose Dominion Senior Living of Richmond because they just had more to offer for mom. The only issue I have had is her getting her medications in a timely manner, the pharmacy is slow to get things in. The staff have been very courteous. Other than the medication issue it has been a good experience and I would recommend them to others.

I would recommend it to others. My loved one gets good care. The care that he doesn't get is because he turns it down, so I'm struggling to make sure he gets a bath. I think sometimes the caregivers are not as thoughtful or thorough as they should be in promoting those behaviors. I think they do a very good job of keeping the facility clean. And they have good activities. We just moved in and they're already trying to up the cost, which they said would only happen yearly. So that's been a little disappointing.

I liked that Wickshire Steele Creek was close to where I lived. But it looked really small on the virtual tour, and then in person it was just teeny tiny. I was also concerned that they had wood floors instead of carpeting, which could be an issue if our loved one fell. But the Executive Director was very accommodating. And I liked that it was a smaller community. But the rooms were too small, with just enough room for the bed and a very small dresser.

We did a virtual tour with Spring Arbor and it was difficult because the video/audio were not working properly. From what we saw, the atmosphere was dark and sad. The facility is very expensive.

We virtually toured this community and the tour was very good. The staff was very friendly and shared a lot of great information. The tour was well done and we got a good sense of the space provided. They answered all our questions also.

There was not a lot of physical therapy going on because of the quarantine, and we were not able to eat in the dining room. It did not really meet my needs and every time you left the building you had to quarantine.

I would tell friends that the common areas look pretty and the rooms are nice sized. The care is lacking and it doesn't seem like a good value. I don't think they have a good ratio for nurses to patients. I believe the overhead is high. The rate is aggressively and constantly rising.
