Spring Arbor Senior Living

The care at Spring Arbor was good, however, we had issues with overnight staff. My mother in law would push the call button for help to get to the bathroom through the night and the staff always made her feel that she was pushing the button too much. She was immobile and couldn't get there herself. The food was great and they had a nice variety. We chose this community because when we visited the residents seemed very happy, and we liked that it was smaller. I would recommend to other families to go visit this community personally and see it for yourself. The community is very attractive with a lot of activities offered and good food,

Spring Arbor was the only community that was able to accommodate both of my parents' varied health care needs. The food is good. They do not offer a large discount for the second person in a couple like others in the area. They have a nice porch and a walkway but they do not have much usable outdoor space. Communication among the staff is not good. We have to make multiple requests when we have an issue. I feel they are understaffed now with the Covid -19 due to the need to serve all the residents meals to them in their rooms which takes time.I do understand they are doing their best. It is nice that they do offer both Assisted Living and Memory Care. My dad is in the process of moving to memory care and it will be nice for my mom to be able to see him daily. Staff is very friendly.

The community is a very attractive place. Most of the staff are caring and concerned for the residents. The activities director does a really fine job. She shows a lot of compassion and concern for the residents. I feel there is a lack of effective communication with the families. For example, my wife's medication was changed, and the communication was very limited if any. I chose this community for it's convenience of location and it is priced competitively among the other good places. Families really need to be very proactive and an advocate for their loved one there. The website needs to be updated with the names and positions so that we can effectively contact the appropriate people at the local community level.

So far, so good. She has been at Dominion for about 2 months. My mother has stayed at two other assisted living facilities and Dominion seems to be the best so far. They really try to take care of her. She has been more active and healthier, more than she has for the last two years. I would recommend that everyone consider Dominion for their loved one’s care.

Very nice facility! Clean, many residents not ambulatory. Very nice rooms with great amenities. Afraid my Mom would just hermit in her very nice room with her television and kitchenette. I'm a little concerned about the 2:30pm happy hour. My Mom has liver disease and my brothers mother-in-law's alcoholism was well fueled in assisted living. Not crazy about the rt 3 corridor location.

Met with [name removed] at Spring Arbor. They have 2 cottages for memory care. I felt the smaller cottage would be a good fit for me. Still concerned with the overall cost and if moms money would allow her to reside their Til end of life. The facility was very well kept and overall loved it. The rooms for residents with very large and loved the family feeling walking through. Everyone was very polite and seemed to enjoy working there. Very open and light filled the area. Outside courtyards were very well kept and I can see I would be very pleased with mom being there.

Very friendly and engaged staff. Good atmosphere, clean, and very professional staff. Nice size rooms. Has a lot of amenities for the residents. Memory care was quite active.

I liked the separate "cottages" for the dementia/Alzheimers residents. Many residents were out of their rooms, not just sitting in room.Facility was very clean with no odor. Staff very friendly & smiling

Very pleased in all aspects of Rosewood and the kindness of the staff.

Overall very pleased with my mother's care. This is a new facility, very clean. With a new place, they are still staffing up as the number of residents increase. They are very diligent about her medical care which has lifted a huge burden. This is her 3rd facility and by far, the most capable of providing the level of care she needs.

Very clean. Residents seemed happy and engaged. No odors detected anywhere. Only concern was the caregiver/patient ratio of 1/16.

Very much liked the atmosphere and the personnel there. Not sure if there is enough there to keep [Name removed] busy. COST: Studio "smart saver" $4,745 $5,000 Smart Saver "deposit", Level of care cost.... starting at $350 to $1300. (Probably level 3 = $550. ESTIMATED MONTHLY COST: $5573 (I divided the $5000 deposit into $277 a month (18 months it pays for itself))

Very, very nice facility - clean and rooms and areas were beautiful. Just wish the costs weren't so high.

Nice spacious facility and friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would give a 5 star rating if they had chinese speaking staff.

My mother in law is doing very well since coming here.She seems to be happy and well-adjusted. She is starting to socialize with the other residents and is doing some of the activities. She is liking the food which is good. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly very kind. I would recommend this community

The Shores of Lake Phalen appear to be above average in providing assisted living facilities. It has had its problems with change of ownership and directors in the past two years but seems to be making improvements with the present management team. As with any health care facility there is the problem of keeping good employees on staff with frequent turnover of caregivers. We admitted two sisters in April 2015, one to Memory Care Unit and the other to an assisted living apartment. At that time we were not very impressed with the caregivers in memory care except for one or two who seemed to try to relate to the patients needs and to initiate interactions rather than be task orientated. Our sister there passed away the following Dec. I understand they are now giving special training to the caregivers in Memory Care with emphasis on interaction and communication and they are providing the residents with more activities. Our sister in assisted living is very satisfied with the facility and involved in many activities provided, games, special events and trips to Walmart, Dollar Store and grocery stores provided by the activity department. She has made many friends while there. There is a problem with transportation to Doctor appointments. It would be great if a shuttle car could be available in the future for this purpose even if there was a fee charged.

This community seemed a little to glamorous for my loved one. I was not able to see anything beyond the scenes. It is a beautiful community and I thought it would be a good place for someone younger than my loved one.

We considered Spring Arbor for my mom but we called and they let us know they could not provide transportation to my mom's church.

This community looked clean and well taken care of when we visited. The person that took us on tour was friendly. They offer transportation and they have a beauty salon on site. This community was not the right fit for my loved one.

Very pretty facility and friendly staff. More of a memory care facility. Studio room pretty small.
