Spring Arbor Senior Living

When I viewed the communities back in march 2013 I was looking for a nice home for my parents. I went to the Windsor-Manor- Indianola and found the staff to be wonderful the layout and grounds were well kept and the care service we were seeking fit the needs of my parents.

The cleanliness is excellent, the staff is very good, very friendly, the care that they're providing to my parents is outstanding. They've had some medical issues since they've been there so they aren't able to participate in as many activities as we would like. The medical care has been excellent, I can't say enough about it. It's been outstanding, the nurses, their assistants and even the aids are exceptional. The consistency of some of the meals they serve could be improved upon, I wouldn't say they're bad but something they serve could be similar to something they've cooked before but it won't be as good. I would say it's inconsistent. My parents chose this most likely because it was one single floor, there was no need for elevators and the apartment they leased was a little bigger.

This is one we were seriously considering. We liked it and when we chose the place, my dad was doing a little better and he was big on the aesthetics he didn't really approve of the size of the room. Looking back we may have regretted not choosing this because he did need skilled nursing in the end so it would have been nice to have them in the same place but I have heard since from people that we made the right decision not picking this.

Unfortunately the manager didn't show for our appointment. We were given a tour by the architect who seemed knowlegeable. The Manor isn't finished yet but will be very much like the one in Bondurant. Very pretty. Nice rural neighborhood.

I was very impressed with Windsor Manor in Vinton. My parents were impressed too.

Her place is opening in Jan. Larger rooms than the 2 I mentioned in Sterling. Free transportation to doctors in Leesburg.

Overall, the facility is ok. Staff is a hit or miss. Some are great and some not so much.

I'm thrilled with the place. The cleaning has improved. It's a smaller facility, which is good because the last place was larger, and dad would get lost. The staff is pretty good. There is not too many complaints with food. The activities director is amazing. It is a little pricier than other places but worth the value. Overall, it's a great place, dad is very happy. Also, the activities director is awesome-very musical, and has music sessions with individual residents. One other thing, my dad loves the bus tours.

When we toured with Beach House they were getting ready to do a commercial for the facility so all the upper management was there from other states. There were so many people there any everyone bombarded us and they were way over the top. It was a beautiful place but there was so much going on that it was a turn off for us.

The apartments are spacious and lad out well. The dining room is has plenty of room for wheelchairs, walkers and people to move around in. Overall the facility is pretty and welcoming. I can't say I'm happy with the medical part of this facility. You need to go with there provider to package the meds in a push pack. Our father was given the wrong medicine and the wrong amount on a number of occasions. Because dad is a veteran and he's med's are at a discount it is more of an expense for us to go though there provider. Dad is for the most part happy there.

I really thought that this community was very nice. The people were very helpful and reassuring through the process. Residents were out walking around. The only issue that I had was the price it was too expensive.

This was a nice community and we enjoyed the tour. The people were super nice and helpful with getting us around. The community was clean as well. We just thought that this was not the right community for mom.

My mother in law was in here for rehab and it was fine, she struggled with it in the beginning and fought it tooth and nail, she did not want to be there and did not want to cooperate. Towards the end she started to cooperate and got to the point where they couldn't do anymore so she had to leave. There were some exceptional staff members, the night nurse (I wish I could remember her name!) was as sweet as could be, and then there were just some others that were just okay but I wouldn't have anything negative to say about them. I think the one thing that bothers me is she's diabetic and she'd go out to the dining room and they would bring desserts out and put them on the table so of course she would eat them. Since it was skilled nursing, you'd expect the nurses to pay attention to those things and the whole time she was there her sugar level was extremely high because no one was paying attention to what she was eating, we didn't feel like she was being watched enough.

My mom has been there for a couple of weeks and is slowly getting adjusted. It's terribly expensive, but it's where she needs to be. Most of her meals are provided and there is bingo. A friend of my mother's recently came to visit her there and I don't think my mom would've invited her if she wasn't happy.

Waterstone is a beautiful facility with a lot of potential. During our time there, they were still refining their processes and routines. The aides and staff were kind, attentive, and eager to help, though additional training in memory care would have been beneficial. The facility itself was well-maintained, offering a clean and welcoming environment, along with good food and engaging activities. One challenge we encountered was the required use of a specific pharmacy, which added an unexpected cost of $[removed] per month. Before Waterstone, all of my mother’s prescriptions were fully covered by Medicare at no cost to her. Additionally, the pharmacy’s limited hours—Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM—meant that prescriptions called in after hours might not be filled until Monday evening. Since Waterstone requires all medications to go through their pharmacy system, this occasionally caused delays

The staff talks a good game. It did not work for my mother. They tried but just was not to be

Nurse aids have a problem about working not doing there jobs and on their cell phones and not doing what the family asked the aids to do by what to put on their love one. Room size are good but not good house keeping.

My brother past away and they charged him room and board even when he was no longer here on earth. Unfortunately, he was there for 3 days but it seems like it was a nice place until you talk about getting your money back for services not rendered.

They could improve on there nursing assistants and RN's that speak English, language barrier was an issue there nursing assistants just didn't want to be bothered
