Lack of consistency is a concern. In close to a year they've had 3 Directors, 3 Medical Directors and a lot of turnover at every level. Routine and structure is important to residents dealing with dementia and families who have established expectations on communication have to reestablish each time there is a change.

[name removed] was excellent and very Informative when choosing an assisted living facility for our mother. The facility is clean and homey. Her room is spacious and mimics her previous home situation. The staff are kind to our mom and care about her. We are pleased we reached out to Southview and chose this facility

Most of the staff is very friendly, but there seems to be a very high rate of turnover. So some services are not always on time/as scheduled.

What we like the most about The Enclave is the beauty of the facility. Friendliness of front desk staff. Friendliness of caretakers. Food wasn't great. Also, communication between the facility and hospice staff left a lot to be desired.

No one is going to love your family like you do, but nearly all of the staff treat them with kind respect. Memory Care requires a very special kind of patience and understanding, and I've never observed any of the caregivers being unkind to the residents. That said, we visit our mother every day, and I believe that is very important for the one-on-one attention that each resident needs but cannot possibly get on a daily basis from the staff.

I looked for a place for my sister and started her out in two other places. Neither of them worked out and so I looked at Mason. I really liked Mason. I thought the people were exceptionally nice and the patience were exceptionally nice. My sister could not be happier right now. I am also happy but I wish I didn’t feel nickel and dime a bit. I think I have figured it all out now and so it will all be fine. I do however wish you were a little closer.

On Independent living they no longer do daily check ins or have the Life Alert like button service. A resident would need to get their own service. So that was a prior selling point. There was no reduction in rent w that change. Also there's been staffing shortages. Place is doing their best to ensure residents are not affected. Aside from that my parents are happy.

it is a fabulous facility, but it is really best for seniors that do not need higher levels of care. My mom was only there three months and then she passed away, so I can only give you my impressions being there three months and she was on the decline the last two months. Their biggest issue is they have had high turnover with the executive leadership that is running that place and it really caused things to not be great and I just sort of was there during that period of time. New Executive Director was too focused on profit and not on compassionate care; she should be a role model for her staff and was not. I know you can balance profit with an attitude of gentleness and caring

We have been there a year. The care was horrifying. 5 ED's in one year. I don't even bother to write their names down now. THEN, around [date removed], [name removed] was hired as the head RN. Can't say enough good things about her. I worry about her work load. My dad passed and many of the residents have surrounded my mom with love and care. We have gotten to know the residents as I come into town 3 weeks at a time and I have a sibling over there every other day and my brother spends the night mid-week. The activities group is amazing. We were sold on that then realized it doesn't matter if they aren't getting their meds (they weren't) but now that they are, we really appreciate that Mom has 2+ activities/day that she attends. She has a good life - don't listen to her complaining - she always did that!

Kudos to the Activity team. The team realized a resident was not doing well when heading outside. [name removed] brought her in and sat her down, realizing she was struggling. [name removed] got the nurse to assist. 911 was called and paramedics arrived quickly to tend to our friend. Their ability to recognize the situation and get prompt help may have saved her. Activities is always there for us.

Everyone there is pretty friendly and helpful. My dad seems to like it there. They do organize a lot of family nights and activities. The building is beautiful, very clean and well kept. My only complaint would be that I don't feel that they encouraged him enough to be social and now he just pretty much stays in his room (although his health has declined and that could be part of the reason)

Corporate group ended some of the things we liked. Like morning check-ins. Also rent went up [fee removed] within 3 months of my mother moving in. Meals were also better the first month she was there. We heard that the head chef left and meals are not as good. Staff is very friendly. Cleanliness is top notch, and the facility is beautiful. My mother is still very happy there despite the downgrades.

Apartments are nice but should have a coat closet. Food portions are very small. My Mom is having a hard time making friends but is trying. She enjoys bingo there. She likes the salon. Would like some more current movies played in the theater which is nice to have there. Friendly dining experience. Overall a nice place.

There is no security between 6:30 and 8pm because nurse at the front desk has to give meds during that time so no one is charge of front desk so anyone can come in or out without anyone knowing. Solution: switch door so it doesn’t open, put sign on door with number and if there is emergency they can call nurse who is giving meds to open door and no one can leave the premises.

The administrative staff went through a major upheaval right after we moved our father there in spring [date removed]. The new staff seemed to be working in the right direction. When the regular nurses were on duty the care was good but when they were off the care was a little more haphazard. The food was not consistent in amount of food.

Very helpful and friendly wait and cook staff in the cafe! Front desk is always staffed with a courteous and friendly attendant. Nursing staff is attentive.

Staff is quick to resolve any issues. Very professional and clean. Best place mom has been! When mom first got there the food was delicious and it was true restaurant dining. They have changed management now and the quality of food has gone down and the service as well in the dining room . I'm hoping they're just working out kinks. They have a great variety of activities really something for everyone.

The food got a 3 because my mom doesn't like it. She is picky. As far as the administrative staff, I didn't mind giving them everything they asked for at all. When we were ready to move my mom in, we had little time to read and sign contract, and provide other information that they forgot to tell us about, which continued to happen for a little while after she moved in. Maybe a checklist would have helped. I eventually got everything to them and they all have been wonderful to work with. They have treated all of my family, my mom and myself great. The staff have been wonderful with her, it's not as pricey as other facilities, has wonderful activities, it's clean and feels comfortable to visit. My mom is in a good place and I feel our family are blessed that you guys recommended them to us.

What we like most about The Enclave is that they ask residents for their feedback and improvement ideas. The very friendly staff always has activities planned for the residents. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families.

The care is very good here. all of the office staff and medical staff and maintenance staff are so nice and help full. The place is clean and family friendly. The bad side is The food is not good and sometimes your meal, after you order it , is forgotten and you have to wave someone down to ask for it. When it comes out its cold, hard and I can not eat it. No taste, same vegetables all the time, no imagination in food choices. Turned in written complaint and suggestion to there food suggestion box. We told Palos Verdes managers about the food and service. Nothing has changed ! Very nice place to live but you will want your family to bring you some eatable food occasionally .
