Meals/dining are extra - it doesn't even come with her high rent cost. The cost is too high for not getting any extras.

Very friendly, supportive, and caring staff… from the management to the staff workers to the care givers. I would recommend a bit more specialized caregiving techniques to patients with more challenging behaviors: ie, continually getting up and down from the chair and/or bed (not being able to settle).

It is very clean. They could improve on the consistency of care. I would caution people to look carefully regarding any assisted living facility.

Rent has increased 10% each year which is not sustainable management has poor communication

Comments: the facility common areas, cafeteria etc are perfectly maintained but individual rooms don't always get cleaned weekly because of short staff. Most aids are very friendly but a couple are abrupt with the residents. Care issues are more of a concern for those needing the highest level of skilled care. The food is not always suitable for individuals on restrictive diets. There is a lot of turnover with continual new faces but the facility director expects this to settle down.

My father has lived at Shawnee Hills for about two months and it has been an overall positive experience. The facility is clean, bright and there are lots of activities for residents to participate in. The food service could be better. Most of the time my dad is satisfied with his meals, but sometimes he has to wait a long time before he gets served and couple of times he’s said his food was cold. The physical and occupational therapy staff are great. My father’s mobility has improved since he has been working with them. I would recommend Shawnee Hills!

Traditions is a very clean and welcoming facility. The Memory Care is a locked unit with only the staff having the passcode to go in and out of the doors. This can be difficult at times as a visitor /family member must ring a bell and then patiently wait for staff to come and allow you to come into the Memory Care area. Due to patient/staff ratio, sometimes the wait has been over 5 minutes for someone to unlock the door. Due to the patient/staff ratio, my mom did escape the facility twice. The first time the security door alarm was broken and did not go off; the second time the staff was too busy with another patient and did not follow up immediately and my mom was found outside the facility by a dentist office personnel. I'm currently experiencing an issue with my monthly payments not being acknowledged by the local financial person but is acknowledged by the corporate person. So every month I get an overdue bill. Very annoying.

The staff is great. Atmosphere and culture are what my parents need. While they have been having a lot of difficulty with food quality and service, they have listened to residents concerns and are actively working to improve (including hiring new/different staff) and we have seen improvement.

The staff is very friendly. The facility is always very clean and pleasant. Lots of activities. Good food and we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

It's a very nice community if you have the resources to cover the costs. But note that there is a lot of turnover with the staff.

The caregiver staff on the memory care unit were very nice and we absolutely loved staff at the front desk. Good, caring people but they are not well staffed. Too much turn over which makes it very stressful for staff that continue to stay and care for residents. Direct care nurses were incredibly thoughtful, patient and loving. Nursing administration on the other hand was absolutely horrible, unprofessional and lacked clinical training or ability to care for residents and help their families navigate emergencies or hospice care.

Turnover is high in both admin and food...which whole understandable but problematic. Staff and admin is very friendly and they seem to care. We signed there because I liked the Director, who was new, but he is now leaving. That hints to me the exec's or owners have an issue if they can't keep these folks.

My mom very much liked living there for the small period of time she was there. All staff was friendly, helpful and tried their best to accommodate our needs. There were no issues that I'm aware of with anyone there. of course the residents are all friendly and genuinely care about each other. my mom made quite a few friends during her short time there.

As you grow older there are changes that occur in your capacity to live as independently as you have in the past. Usually it is a difficult decision to make. My children were looking for a place for me. They chose la Paloma’s On Brown Road in mesa. It is so terrific. There are lots of activities and many folks facing the same issues you have. After living here for five months I have enjoyed the people who live here. We can laugh together , enjoy new experiences together and feel really comfortable in this venue. Come and join us.

Lake Travis Independent Living is a very high quality facility for independent senior living. The building seems to be well built with attractive apartments and generally well maintained.The management and other staff is very friendly and accommodating of the residents. The food overall is very good and the service staff is very friendly and seems to know all of us by name. There are lots of activities available and the residents as a group have interesting backgrounds and are good neighbors. The biggest criticism I would have is that at the current moment and ever since my husband and I arrived three months ago, their maintenance staff has not been fully staffed, leading to some delays of needed repairs in individual apartments or common areas.

Food service could be better. It takes Way too long to receive our meals.

We are very happy to call Las Palomos our senior home. We waited months for an opening and after looking at many other facilities we decided this was the BEST. The whole staff has been friendly and helpful from Day 1. They all call everyone by name and make residents feel special. There are many activities to choose from to meet anyone's particular needs and desires. The activity director is the Best! The meals are good and of a variety with specials at each meal. The servers all call us by name. They are amazingly helpful and patient, even when short staffed. We are looking forward to getting more staff hired in kitchen and dining room so wait time is not as long for meals. With the hiring of the new chef, we are confident that will happen, given him time. The apartments are so nice and housekeeping keeps them up with regular cleaning. Maintenance comes when requested on a timely basis. I gave a 9 score of 10 to this wonderful senior community and have recommend it to others.

I highly recommend Palos Heights Senior Living! They have been outstanding in caring for my mom. We have moved my mom to 4 different facilities over the last 10 years, and Palos Heights Senior Living is by far the best. The entire staff is so friendly and professional, and has been so accommodating to my mom’s changing needs. The facility itself is the cleanest, most welcoming atmosphere, with so many activities. Highly recommended!

Caring, cheerful, helpful, responsible, clean, friendly. I recommend Palos Heights Senior Living for being a nice home away from home.

A very nice/clean environment. Friendly staff. Plenty of inside/outside sitting areas. A variety of activities to keep busy through the day.
