Where do I start? Safety and security, food, management or facility. Let's start at food, the food is not that good, some days are but most of the time I go out to eat at a local restaurant. No breakfast that you would like, it's scrambled eggs ( no fried eggs ) sausage links, bacon. Most of the time it luke warm. Lunch time. There is a salad bar with a very limited items. All depends on what the menu is. Some of the food is tuff, or not cooked well. Some looks like mush. Dinner, the food is ok sometimes again. Over all they buy cheaper food quality and not enough of the food. Seems they run out a few times and try to substitute it with something else. Security and safety, parking lot needs more brighter lighting, building needs all outside light working. ED, changes to many things with our asking the residents their thoughts.

It's a very clean and nice facility. It's a newly remodeled community. My loved one seemed to love the food. They offer lots of activities. The value for the money was good. My only issue, was my loved one was kicked out and evicted, and was given a 7 day notice to move out. My loved one needed more care, than what they could provide. In addition, they seemed to have a turnover in staff. Overall, a decent place.

My 90 year old Mother was EVICTED with 7 days notice from The Wellington at North Richland Hills, TX. She was given an Eviction Letter on August 5th with a Termination date of [date removed]. Granted, she suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia but imagine our SHOCK to get a 7 day termination notice! The management at The Wellington is cruel and callous, and did not care at ALL this was a major hardship for our family as everyone works full-time and cannot drop everything to move our Mother! My Mom had paid her August rent in full, $[removed]. We were not able to move her until [date removed] because it took a couple weeks to have her assessed and accepted into a new Memory Care facility. [name removed], the Executive Director at The Wellington, promised us he would refund any remaining rent based on my Mother's move-out date. She is on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay double rent to 2 expensive facilities (the old one and the new one!) [name removed] is offering to only reimburse us for 2 days rent

Moved MIL in [date removed] and was alright. It’s August 2022 and things have gone dramatically downhill. Staff changes frequent. AC hasn’t been consistent for months. Window unit was installed but since taken out. AC isn’t working again. They brought in an oscillating fan. Bathroom faucet hasn’t been working. Now the cold water doesn’t work all. No repairs have been made. Carpet is stained…hadn’t been cleaned. Visited today and walked in…no receptionist, no one at nurses station downstairs or upstairs. Upon entering the main lobby, the smell of urine or “old” is apparent. Professionals have discouraged us to be there. Bright side…Aides have been kind to my MIL. We will be looking for an alternative.

Never put a loved one at North Pointe. [Name removed] is a liar.

They had to proceed us through covid outbreak. Even though my loved one did not have covid and I requested that the isolate my loved one and feed her there. They stated that they are not a one-on-one facility and she couldn't honor the request because it was not medically necessary. They have done this for others and it was necessary to ensure safety. Also I was told I could bring somebody into feed and pay for it. More chance of bringing in covid! Yesterday they placed a fentanyl patch on my loved one that was discontinued. Because one of their staff members did not follow through on doctor's orders and make sure the computer was updated. I can go on and on. The biggest problem they have two aids for about 28 people. This is a memory Care , two people are assisting one individual with a hoyer lift or taking breaks there is nobody left to keep an eye on people that desperately need it. She says it's legal but my question is it morally legal? So my recommendation stay away l

Definitely one of the worst facilities I’ve been in. Constantly short staffed. One employee for 9+ residents. Memory care residents left soiled sitting around the TV for hours on weekends. Only agency for staffing every weekend no reports are given, the call light system is none existing and management is unresponsive. Several staff were working back to back doubles over 16 hrs so they were burnt out and there was nobody else to come in. Everyone who came quickly said they would not be back. The aids are giving shots of insulin untrained because there are no nurses on staff. There was a man who was falling 5-6 times a day he died in his room screaming for help. There are several pts who are dementia pts living in assisted living because they can pay. It’s a sad situation

I only toured the community. As my loved one never ended up moving into the community. We had put the down payment for the community. Due to the decision change since my loved one had a medical concern, I decided to cancel the contract. The community told me that I would have to give a 30 day notice and pay rent for the month that my loved one was due to move in. This didn't settle well with me. I decided to not move my loved one in. Overall it wasn't a pleasant experience for us.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone . This is the most crooked place I've ever seen in my life the employees talk about each other behind each others back if they have visitors the treat the residents with kindness and respect but as soon as the visitors leave they get real disrespectful to the residents it's crazy

I had a friend who had a loved one here and they over-medicated the resident so they ended up moving them out. They hide the memory care unit and try not to take people back there. The staff seemed inexperienced and not professional. It was not a good tour experience.

We did not get good care there. My husband fell, and it took about an hour for them to get him up and back in bed. They didn't get him any medical attention at all. He fell again the next night, and they took him to the hospital, where doctors determined he had a fractured rib and collar bone. The June called and told me he was going to one hospital but took him to another one instead. In the week he was in the hospital, no one at The June called to check on him. He ended up passing away in the hospital, so subsequently I checked him out of The June early. When I call for a refund, all they do is pass me off and say so and so will call you later. But no one returns my calls. They've been almost hateful about it. At first I thought it was a nice place. It was very pretty, and the sales person was very helpful. But we found out she left right after we got there. And ultimately the care was utterly lacking.

Upon admission there was an appointment to asses the level of care needed for assisted level living. They assess our loved one at the lowest care level needed. During his stay he had one day where he had behavioral issues just out of the blue. They changed his medication without making us aware or calling the other family. We found out he was not being given the medication he should of been given, which was a big frustration and concern.

I toured The Waterford and did not find the facility to be very clean. The size of the apartments were also very small for the price you had to pay.

We got a very weird vibe when we toured Whitley Place. No one was really out and about and people would not talk to us, even the director. She ran into us and said she did not know we were coming and that was all she said. It is a clean place and residents seemed well cared for, it was just very strange.

If you are looking for a place that can provide for basic needs including meals, bathing assist, and cleaning but don't require any more, than this may be the right fit. However, if you have a loved one with dementia related psychosis and complex needs, keep looking! The communication is HORRIBLE! After multiple falls and 3 fractures, the last one requiring extensive surgery, hospitalization and rehab, we called to update the staff and were told our loved one would not be accepted back. No warning, no updates, no compassion or care for how our loved one was doing, just "come and get their things" (oh, and by the way, we won't be reimbursing you even though we're the ones terminating the contract). If you are expecting supportive, compassionate care with communication about concerns, keep looking! Don't let our nightmare become yours.

MY mother has been here for over a year and has blended into the community so well. The staff have welcomed her in with open arms and have made her feel at home. She is encouraged to participate in the activities and has done more here, than her previous home. The staff are very caring and you can see the compassion they have for the residents that live here. They are always willing to help and go above and beyond to provide a safe and happy place to live.

Just from walking through this facility I was not at all impressed and I did not get a good gut feeling at all. We toured during dinner time and the caregivers seemed like they could have cared less about the residents. The grounds at the facility are not kept up, the area where residents are able to go outside looked like the grass had not been cut in 2 months. I think a lot of people are drawn here because it is very inexpensive compared to others, but you get what you pay for.

PCAs are slow to get to you.

We toured several places in Fort Wayne, and this one was terrible. The whole place was kind of dark and musty. It was under construction. I knew right away it wasn’t going to work. They seemed very unorganized. I just couldn’t see my loved one living there.

They do not deliver what they sell you. Beware!! The constant high turnover reflects the ill-equipped management. The staff has continually suggested that the residents write a letter to corporate regarding the ”bait and switch” strategy of over promising and under performing. The person in charge of the kitchen, is condescending and is not willing to work with someone who has special dietary needs, contrary to what it says in their literature and is reiterated by their salespeople. He told my mom if she needed something special to “make it herself!” My parents pay [fee removed]a month & have to make their own meals, monitor their own meds( due to a shortage if qualified staff) & are dealing with a sewer back up in their room. We are looking for a new place, but didn’t want anyone else to have to endure what my parents went through. The saving grace is that the facility is beautiful. We were sold as if it was the four seasons of assisted living, but have merely received Motel 6 services.
