The June is a very nice and modern community, our loved one is the memory care facility. They also have an assisted living and both are in the same building, however the memory care unit is somewhat isolated from the other part. The rooms are very spacious, there is a variety to choose from. Some of the rooms don't have attached showers but our loved ones room did. They are very nice and modern with higher ceilings. Due to our loved ones health situation this community did not really work for us, she had mixed dementia, and the only other negative was there was relatively high turnover rates with the staff members.

It is worth visiting. Food is great. The layout is good. The room sizes are adequate. They are currently understaffed. Staff turn over on the PRN's is high which effects the continuity of care. They have an outdoor patio.The cleaning could be improved.

My mom first came here when it was Heritage at Westover Hills about a year ago. Since first talking with them through A Place for Mom, they have changed Execitive Directors at least 4 times, and nurses just as often. I believe the state even got involved after the last nurse left. There's high turnover with care staff, too. Mom started in Memory Care and then as she recovered from her brain injury, moved to Assisted Living just after it was purchased by a new corporate office. The nurses are not 24 hrs, but there is weekend coverage. There is one bus and one driver for transportation, provided only Tues & Thurs for medical appts and Mon some residents go to Walmart (my mom takes 1 of 2 wheelchair spots on the bus). Medications are currently handled via a paper system, and shift change is at 2, so Mom doesn't always get her 2pm gabapentin, especially when she has outpatient therapy at 3 and the bus leaves at 2:15 for a 5-minute drive. The wait to be picked up depends on if others have appointments, but has never been more than an hour. A nearby doctor and her assistant visit for appointments if you join the practice. Dental you manage on your own. There's a preferred mail-order pharmacy available, so we never mess with running prescriptions. The food is good but they tend to serve pork in the vegetables without mentioning that there's pork in there, so if you do not eat pork, meal time can be a hassle. They do cut up my mom's food, though. I just wish the care staff weren't used as waitstaff and bussers for meals. Sometimes residents need help with the bathroom before and after meals and that's caused issues for us. We once met a girl that had just graduated high school with my son working there. You only need to be 18 and have a high school education (no CNA's). She left for a higher-paying job in food service. I sometimes wish we'd gone with Landon Ridge, but it was out of our budget. But, I will say Mom has not suffered any abuse and is happy there. It is pet friendly for small dogs and cats, but residents/family must pick up after the animals themselves (that's standard across communities). It's 100% non-smoking although staff smoke outside the MC door (no longer accessible to family, so not an issue anymore). It's convenient to local doctor and dental offices (sometimes we don't take the bus because appointments fall Mon, Wed, or Fri). Mom has made many new friends there and receives help for everything from getting out of bed to bathing to toileting and even clipping her nails. She's severely disabled and I feel that in spite of the issues, she's well taken care of.

My friend lives in the independent living area. After having a stroke he became depressed, wouldn't eat, isolated himself, etc. Since moving to the Wellington he has joined the choir, and takes part in the many activities. I have eaten with him there a few times and the food is excellent. I cant say enough about the staff. They were amazing in helping him adjust. This move was a quality of life changer. Thank you !

I toured Independence Village with my friend, and I thought it was a nice community, but I thought that there was not close enough supervision there, and I thought it was too big. We were looking for a smaller, more homey place with a good ration between residents and caregivers.

My loved one is here currently and it’s been pretty good. When we first moved her in, we spent a lot of time there. It was a fairly quick process getting her in there but there have been a few things that have happened since she’s got there that haven’t been ideal. There have been a few unexplained bruises and scars and it’s always us having to ask how she got them, rather than them telling us upfront. I understand there are a lot of other residents there but a lot of the time they seem to be pretty understaffed. There have only been a few times when I’ve gone where I don’t try to help because it always seems like there are people that need it and aren’t getting it. I don’t know if the pay scale is wrong or if there’s too much to handle but I’ve heard some of the staff talk about how they couldn’t care less to be there. I think they may be a little overwhelmed, but the people that run the place are really good. Sometimes there are times where it feels like you can’t ask the staff for help because of how much they complain. One positive thing that I can say is that they have good food and they keep it clean. There are a few staff members that do an excellent job, too, but the majority of them don’t seem happy. Overall, it hasn’t been a horrible experience but it hasn’t been great.

My parents are doing pretty well moving here they have finally started settling in. Right now they aren't doing any of the activities or social events but are hopes are they will start. The food is good they have no complaints. The staff is very good nice and very accommodating.

This is a very nice community and the staff that did the tour with me did a great job they took their time showing me around and they answered all my questions. I was concerned that this community was bigger and less personal than what I was looking for for my mom and the location was not as close as I would like.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my mother and I just thought the lady who showed us around could have been a little more knowledgeable. She was very friendly but she just seemed to be new at her job and did not have answers for a lot of questions that my sister and I had for her.

I do like this community and my apt is nice, I just feel that it is a bit under staffed here. There are a lot of call outs on the weekends and I do have trouble getting the waitress' to bring me anything extra or additonal during my meals. I like the amenities here and going to the dining room with the other residents as well.

My clients family members seem to like this community much better than where she is now. They feel that it has a lot more to offer in activities. It is a much larger community so it gives her more opportunities to meet new people and to socialize more. The community looks clean and the staff seems to be nice and knowledgeable

It is very clean and has good food, The staff is very friendly also. The pricing is high. When you are caring for a loved one and need a break it is a good place. I use them for respite care for my mother. I am unsure if she really likes it or not, One minute she does the next she doesn't. But isn't that the way it goes with a dementia patient. Mom will soon have her 2nd stay with them so I guess we will see how it goes.

Concern: The CNA staff on call from 7am-11 pm are great and dependable. The 11 pm-7 am are lacking in attention to residents. They are found sleeping at times after residents are asleep. This is not acceptable. They need more staff on the 3 pm - 11 pm shift and the 11 pm - 7 am shift. Two CNA's cannot watch 19 people in the common area when both CNA's are busy elsewhere. Therefore, those residents in wheelchairs and others that have issues walking and falling are not being watched. I have a problem with the Memory Wing being called "assisted living" when these residents need more one on one help. The nursing staff is AWESOME! They are always good to call me with any medical issues. The housekeeping staff constantly needs to be reminded to clean better, especially in the bathroom. The weekend shift is also short-staffed as well. Some fall incidents have happened the past 6 months that have been very vague and/or the staff was not present when it happened. This is a concern to me and I would think it would be to anyone who's loved ones are staying there. Overall, my parent is treated well, needs are met, they love on my parent, and is loved by the staff. With the exception of the 3rd shift concerns, since I've not met the staff on the 3rd shift but have had past experience with them not being available when needed. There is a lot of turnover in CNA's at this facility which doesn't help matters with Dementia residents. Bottom line is this, more staff is needed to accommodate the residents, especially in the Memory Wing.

I toured this community and found it to be smaller than what I wanted for care. The staff were very nice and were able to answer the questions I had for the care that is offered. This community was clean and maintained. We would recommend that families tour this community for the care of a family member.

This place is just great! The staff are great; they are sure to take care of my loved one's needs and requests. There are plenty of activities offered for my loved one to participate in. The only complaint is that my loved one, along with several other residents, don't particularly care for the food. I know its hard to cook for a large group but they really need to improve the menu and quality of the food (for example the broccoli is more stems than anything). I still recommend the place highly however.

When I toured The Waterford, I thought the girl was very nice and the was able to answer all of my questions. When I saw the rooms, though, they were very small. I felt claustrophobic in there, so I had to leave.

My mother has lived at the Waterford for quite a while, she loves it here! The food is average, to not so great. The care assistants are very friendly and give good care, we are not real thrilled with the nurse who works dayshift only. She only does what she absoulutely has to. There is no licensed nurse after three or four oclock. This is an unlicensed facility, so they are not inspected, as a licensed facility is. The activity lady is awesome, and is loved by everyone, she comes up with many fun activites and entertainment for the residents. They have a bus to take residents out to different places, BUT no lift! So if your loved one can not make steps they are left behind! I really think this needs to be changed. One other problem is the doors, all but the front door are very difficult to operate, all are opened with a key, but if you are on a scooter or wheelchair, its almost impossible to get in and out. The apts. are very nice, and we think it is great that some folks can bring their pets. Overall the Waterford is a nice place for my Mother.

The hardest part of the move for my mother was downsizing. The apartment that she is in is comfortable, though, and she has everything she needs. The physical therapy that she is receiving here is not as good as the one at the rehab center. Other than that, she loves the hairdresser that have on site, and the administration lady is amazing. When my mother fell one time, she laid on the floor with her so my mother would not feel bad, that was truly amazing.

My tour of The Wellington at North Richland Hills went well, the place was very nice and clean. The tour guide took me around the building, and everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. The reason we did not choose this community was because it was priced over our budget and the location wasn't the closest to my home.

My tour of The Waterford at College Station went very well. The staff and tour guide were all friendly and welcoming. The place was clean and well maintained. The reason we did not go with this community was simply because it was too far of a drive.
