I have nothing negative to say about Villa Santa Barbara, it just did not work out for my loved one. They assessed her as a level 1 care when she came in, but then she declined very quickly and needed more care than they were able to provide. They did their best to try and work with us especially financially and we appreciated that.

We really enjoy the staff and the person who helped our parents transition to assisted living, they were awesome and really everyone else has been wonderful. The residents are awesome, our mother has made friends pretty easily. Our parents apartment is a nice big size. However the big negative we have is we were told they would have transportation and outings for the residents, they have a van but no driver so no outings are happening at all.

This community was okay there was just another community that I felt more comfortable with that had my attention more than this community.

Overall, its very good. The food is good, the staff is helpful. My apartment is nice, in a good location. Villa SB is a no-frills retirement home beyond the basis, you either pay extra (LOTS) or send out (Laundry). And you couldn't provide security to keep an old lady from wandering.

Our tour at The Rose was really nice. We enjoyed the staff. They were very friendly and professional and did a great job showing the pros and cons of their facility. The biggest factor in our decision was proximity to my house, and we went with another place that was only a few minutes away.

You have to really communicate with the staff what you want done and how you want to be notified. You have to stay on top of them because they were lackadaisical in notifying me about my loved one's blood sugar levels.

The administrator and head nurse are awesome. They do not have an activities director at the moment, so there is nothing to do. They are very short staffed and that affecting the quality of care some. It really is a great facility and I would highly recommend them, they just need to get their staffing issues sorted out.

We chose Anthology of Mayfield Heights because we really liked how friendly all the staff were, you go in and they make you feel very comfortable. The location is beautiful and it is a nice set up. The apartment she has is super nice, she has a patio as well. Whenever we have had an issue they have been super responsive. The variety of activities have been great and my mother in law loves it. She has been happier than I have seen her in a long time. They have been struggling with staffing and that is affecting the care some. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

There have been doctor orders written that the community took a while to get it implemented. After moving in they had a new pharmacy take effect. When we were searching we picked this community due to the office staff. [name removed] and [name removed] we felt really good about it, because of them. They worked with us in finding a one bedroom for our loved one, even though at the time they didn't have one readily available. This was impressive to us. The community and staff volunteered to move our loved one's items from one room to the next that was available. The community allows the residents to pick the food a week in advance. They even will make something different if the resident doesn't like what is on the menu with advanced notice. There are a lot of activities offered each day for the residents to choose from. The community uses a Sagely App and this will allow us to see what our loved one has participated in, and will sometimes include photos.

we did a Virtual tour with this community. It was very informative and they answered all our questions. the tour was good but i understand that at the time the restrictions, but I would have like to seen some of the community.

We chose Independence Village at the time because of the location as well as the cost for the size of the place was better than some of the others that we looked at. Her apartment size was great, she had an awesome view but it depends where your room is, some look out into the parking lot. She complained about the food, she said that it was always the same thing and not a lot of variety. It has been hard to get things accomplished with the administrative staff and it has been difficult for me to get in contact with anyone which has been frustrating. The everyday staff were always very friendly. I would recommend depending on your loved ones circumstances.

The place we ended up at is smaller and more intimate, with the whole place on lockdown. Here at The Woodlands of Hamilton, only the memory care unit was on lockdown. It smelled like a dirty diaper, like urine, when I went in there. The residents were just sitting there, and the staff didn't interact with them. The staff were talking amongst themselves, and not with the residents. It was very sad and very dark. At the place we moved into, there were residents walking around and aides talking to them and interacting with them. But at The Woodlands, I was not impressed at all. I cried after going in there to visit. I know that with dementia, sometimes they don't know what's going on or they don't remember things. But I'm so happy that where we're at they don't treat him like he's dumb or a child. I got the feeling at The Woodlands that they neglect their residents. I just wanted to say to them "Come on guys - you need to get with the program!" The atmosphere just felt like a bunch of older people waiting to die.

The tour at The Waterford was very informative and they did a good job with it. It also seemed like the facility was in a great location, we just felt like we could get a better value for the money elsewhere.

It's hard to say, because there were lots of changes going on at the time. With the turnover, sometimes the staff was really good, and sometimes they were just okay. They definitely tried to be accommodating, and they really made the extra effort to let families see their loved ones during Covid. They continued to offer activities, but my loved one found it intimidating when trying to join, and described it kind of like in grade school, where the different groups/cliques are already in place. My loved one's room was good, and I was really appreciative of the one-bedroom apartment with a little kitchenette. I know it costs to have nursing on hand, fixing meals, and all that. But sometimes not everyone can afford that care for their loved ones. It would be nice if it could be more cost effective. I would recommend as long as you feel good about the director and nurses that are on staff at the time.

It is an okay place, but is lacking in quite a few areas. My loved one was there a short amount of time. The clothes and sheets that our loved one was in, belonged to another resident. I wasn't impressed with the staff leaving us at the door, or them looking at their phones. The family called each day. The hospice nurse called us about our loved one not doing well. In the days prior the staff at the community was telling us that everything was going well for our loved one via phone.

If you need more than assisted living this would not be for you. But if you're fairly independent this could be a good fit for you. I would recommend this community. They have had a good covid plan and pets are welcome if you can take it.

One of the issues I had with the community is they were supposed to have housekeeping come in and clean my loved one's room once a week. Yet it didn't appear they were there for almost three to four weeks. This is a great community for anyone who is outgoing and independent. Your loved one would be best if they didn't need any type of assistance. The dining services have vary small portions and prepared food and not fresh fruits and veggies.

The facility is cost-effective but there has been some turnover in management so communication is lacking. it has been hard with covid. My dad is happy there I would recommend this facility if your loved one needs independent living.

There is a lot of turnover. They recently had another COVID outbreak. They are doing virtual visits and assisting residents with them. The communication is good with Nurses. And the communication with the Executive Director hasn't been good due to response time.
