My mom doesn’t need much help and she seems content. The food is not as good as where she lived in Dallas and could be better, but it is not bad. The activities are what you would expect, but there are people that live there tat are more competent than paying bingo and ballon volleyball and I think they could set up more challenging clubs lie bridge, cards, mah-jongg, etc. Also, the change in facilities. Staff has been a little rough, and our doctors had a hard time getting prescriptions there quickly, and making sure that they are taken care of immediately. However, I feel like that’ll iron itself out. Overall, we’ve had a pretty good experience there. My grandmother lived there 10 years ago and we had a better experience when she was there because the food was much better in the facility was new. However, my mom really doesn’t need a lot of assistance and it is perfect for what she needs. The people there are really nice, especially the other people that live there which is a plus.

It looks like a wonderful place to live. But it is to far from my home town of 25 years. And it's in a different state, this means more hassle changing driver license, etc.

Based on a few limited observations I see a lot of opportunities that would improve efficiency. My observations/suggestions are intended to allow you to begin to look for many more opportunities for improvements in efficiency and possibly reduce workload. A couple of my suggestions might not be feasible as I am looking at it based on a superficial observation. 1) At the beginning of each shift have a 5 minute stand up meeting to discuss any issues requiring special attention. Document this information which is passed on to the next shift. 2)Assign sections for individuals to duplication and overlap. 3)If possible have each person in the common area seated in order to avoid having to send people to the various rooms and wings to retrieve people while food is being served. 4)Hire a school kid to come in and organize all of the games, puzzles and other miscellaneous items in the various cupboards. Get some plastic totes or Tupperware containers and label them. I see a lot of employees and visitors wasting a lot of time looking for stuff because it does not have designated location and not labeled. 5)Encourage suggestions from everyone to provide ideas and ways to improve. Acknowledge and reward people for their improvement ideas. These are just a few ideas or thoughts based on a few limited observations.

The facility was beautiful and full of life. Residents were out in community spaces and chatting with each other. It was nice to see the general activity. Residents walking outside, some in the theater, dining room, etc. The apartment we saw was very nice. Definitely a place to consider.

The property overall is very nice. Couldn't ask for a better staff. They’re awesome! Cleanliness is fine. The rooms are great. The bathroom in her room is real nice. Cannot say anything about the activities because I don't have any experience. The only weak area is their resident portal. It hasn't worked since her arrival the 1st week of June. You do know the property recently changed hands. They now go by The Addison.

Overall it is too big of a complex. There were times that they forgot to empty trash or make the bed. There were pills that dad was taking and we didn't know why. The in house doctor was very hard to get with.

Friendly staff, lots of activities, lots of variety in food, great apartment size and storage, sometimes administrative things need follow-up

The overall experience was excellent. The assisted living director and staff were very caring and respectful, and they communicated well with family. The executive director and finance manager were not available most times and did not return calls. The website was great for managing finances. The property was always clean and well maintained. Maintenance requests for Mom’s specific apartment were generally addressed in a reasonable amount of time. I would certainly recommend The Waterford to others.

Our plans were upset after only several days as my sister had to be moved from an independent care apartment to the memory care unit. She was ill-suited for the former as a result of a tendency to wander. The change was necessary and the staff helpful in making the transition manageable. That said, I found the facilities in both units sizable, well laid out and well maintained and the staff in both instances professional while being approachable, accommodating and friendly with both residents and visitors. The dining facilities are fine and the food plentiful and acceptable but not great. There seem to be plenty of activities available for residents who want to participate. The grounds surrounding Amberleigh are nice and very well maintained. The bottom line is that It is a pleasant place to live... but not if you are on a tight budget.

My parents have been living here for several months, and overall I would say things have improved significantly over the last month—especially with the new administration. The only area that still needs noticeable improvement is the food, and I hope that continues to get better as well. When my parents first moved in, we experienced several frustrations. Their apartment was supposed to be ready by [Date Removed], but it wasn't painted until just three days before they arrived from out of state. I had been given the key to prepare everything for them, and because their moving pod arrived on schedule, I had only two days to unpack and get everything set up. It was a very stressful situation. To the new administration's credit, once I brought this to their attention, they acknowledged the issue and gave my parents a discount since the apartment clearly wasn't move-in ready during that time. We also had ongoing problems with maintenance. In our experience, repairs often had to be reported multiple times before they were completed. Another issue during the first six months was housekeeping. The person who was supposed to clean weekly frequently made excuses and simply didn't show up. It became very frustrating. When I finally spoke with the administration, they were surprised to hear what had been happening and addressed the situation quickly. Since then, housekeeping has been much more reliable, and the current housekeeper has been a significant improvement. The apartments themselves are older and somewhat dated. The shower and bathtub fixtures are especially difficult to use, particularly for seniors or anyone with limited hand strength. However, the layout is very practical. There are no long hallways, making it easy for elderly residents to move between the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. My parents also have a large screened-in patio that they truly enjoy. The new management seems to be working hard to improve the community. We've already noticed better organization and visible improvements around the building. They appear to genuinely care about making residents comfortable and happy, and we're hopeful those improvements will continue. As far as value goes, this community has been a good fit for my parents' budget. If we could afford a more expensive senior living community, we likely would have considered one. However, for the price, we feel this offers good value despite some of the issues we've experienced. My parents aren't especially social, but they do enjoy spending time in the dining area and talking with other residents. It's a comfortable, welcoming space. The food is probably the weakest part of the experience. Breakfast and lunch are generally good, but dinner can be disappointing, with simple meals like ham and cheese sandwiches served fairly often. While the meals could certainly be improved, they do seem to provide a reasonably balanced diet. Overall, my parents are happy and comfortable here, and that's what matters most. My advice to anyone considering this community for a loved one is to visit often, check in regularly, and communicate with staff if concerns arise. No community is perfect, but we've seen positive changes under the new administration, and we're hopeful those improvements will continue. For families looking for an affordable senior living option, this community is worth considering.

Staff was very welcoming and thorough. Residents were friendly and engaging. Location was clean, decor is a bit dated but renovating plans are in the works. We were not given an explanation on what brought them to a decision to deny admittance as a resident. That would’ve been good to know.

Here's a few overall comments. In terms of care for my parents, outstanding. They are treated extremely well, given lots of dignity and respect. I have zero complaints about the quality of exceptional care. In terms of things for improvement, it has been difficult to contact any other practitioners, whether it be the nurse, therapist, billing… Via email or phone messages. There was one case where I needed to speak to the nurse I left four messages, and zero return phone calls. They could improve this communication channel. Now, when I'm in person, and I just happen upon one of the practitioners, I am blown away with their attention to detail, how well they know my parents and their requirements of care, etc. It's just the non-face-to-face communication tactics are lacking. Also, it would be helpful if there were some sort of portal where caregivers could login for resources. It would be nice to speak to other people who are in the same predicament that are trying to manage their parents care and could bounce ideas and advice from others in the similar situation. Would also be nice to have a directory of practitioners that we could reach out to and get responses. It would be nice to have the weekly activities uploaded so we could nudge our parents to participate.

I think the facility is very nice. Looks like they just built it (up keep.) And it is literally 8mins from my house. Staff are very personable. Mom has issues with the facility. But the problems she sees, are happening all over.

The staff are nice and friendly and the rooms are all a nice size. Yes I recommend them.

The caregivers are wonderful, especially [Name Removed]! They are really on top of my husband's needs and have taken the challenge of working with this younger man with dementia. I know it's been difficult for them since they're used to much older people, but he in just a month or so is really starting to settle in nicely. The one thing I think they could improve on is their on boarding process if that's how you would say it. I think they could really benefit from scheduling more time to talk with an interview the current caregiver to get more in-depth insight into the person. They also have several procedures that they don't really tell you upfront about especially regarding medication's that I found very difficult to navigate in the beginning. More information on that process and some of their other procedures would be helpful to new people coming in.

The staff is caring and attentive. They communicate well. Lots of activities, fun pics of the residents on the wall, the vibe is very positive.

Everyone is friendly especially the cafe staff. Food has been good especially breakfast. I would recommend them to others who are searching for a community.

It's very friendly and easy to get help when needed. Staff is easy to get in touch with and work with. The only problem is that the meals are substandard and there is not enough staff in the dining room. Also I haven't noticed any bus trips scheduled for various events. [name removed] says the bus is broken and she doesn't think they plan to repair it.

The workers and management there are all very kind and have great, open communication with us! Yes, we would recommend this community to other families!

Communication is not the best at all. I have called several time and cannot get through to anyone. And I have been waiting on an email from their HR dept. so I can a link to pay my dad's bill for over a week now and have not got anything.
