Our loved one is pretty happy with the meals that they serve, and the activities did start out really good and strong, but now they are more limited and we are seeing more television time, then activities. The value for cost is very good right now, however we do anticipate the value going up next year. When you walk into the community its like walking into someones living room. It has a warm feeling to it, and all the rooms are surrounding the main room so everyone feels included and much apart of the facility.

More clinical appearance. Building maintenance had some weaknesses. Staff was unfamiliar with their business manager's name which resulted in confusion of who we were when we arrived. Bedrooms were smaller and pricing was better but not the right atmosphere for my mother. Otherwise very affordable place.

We chose Southfield Senior Living because of the convenient location, they were remodeling a lot of it, and she had her own apartment and could maintain her independence. It was also a good value for the money. Her apartment size is adequate for what she needs, the bathroom is large and wheelchair/scooter accessible. She also have a little porch area out front where she can sit. They had been good about covid and they keep us updated.I would recommend them.

I think they're right on par with the rest of the communities we looked at, not exceptional but not bad. So they seemed priced correctly. I did feel more confident in talking with the staff here than at other places. It didn't feel like they were trying to sell me a spot - it felt like they actually seemed like they wanted to help. It was difficult to know what exactly what was going on due to the pandemic, with visiting sharply curtailed, and activities paused. But they were excellent at communicating with the family throughout pandemic, and communication was never a problem.

The community is not the best value for the money, Communication is not good with the family. I would not recommend this community to others.

The staff members at the community are all very nice, and we do believe they offer daily activities for the residents. We did do our research on the average cost of assisted living, and in the beginning our value for cost was pretty reasonable but now with covid they have raised everyone's rent an extra $100 to cover all the covid protocols. We are providing our loved ones medication, even the ones that are over the counter. Now the community is requiring every residents to use their preferred pharmacy, which we believe will not be able to match our insurance cost. If we do not use the pharmacy they will charge us an extra $350 a month. The communication could also be improved.

It was nice until the new management took over. The food was not good, they were both in the dementia unit but my dad did not have dementia, on that unit it was worse than it was on the assisted living side, he said it was always cold and bland. Overall, we would recommend because everyone will have their own experience.

The food is okay but it could be way better. One of our biggest frustrations we had was we were not told about the increase in rate until we were signing the papers. Also, this community has a pool which we really liked, however our loved one has been there for 2 1/2 years and the pool has never been opened. The rooms at this community are very nice.

We chose The Waterford at the time because of the location and also the affordability. The apartment sizes here are adequate for his needs. My father does not like the food very much at all, his main complaint is that they try to make the meals too fancy. Through the lock down they were delivering the food, often times he would get the wrong meal or if he did get it it was very cold. They have recently had some management change and that has been for the better. They are really trying to turn things around as they had a rough go for most of 2020. Overall, I would recommend the community.

I felt comfortable at this facility. the sizes of the rooms are good, and the food is fair with a good variety. The grounds are kept clean and there is an outside area to spend time outdoors. I would recommend this community.

Good – As Senior Living goes.

When I and my husband moved here we thought it was well decorated. Since that time all of the furniture in the common area has been moved around. Now it seems there is no decorated touch! The care is good. The food is not so good.

We chose The Woodlands because of the affordability. The room sizes here are pretty good. She says that the food is pretty bland because of the dietary needs, but that is to be expected. The best part about the community is the value. Recently, I asked for a medication update and they did not have an important medication listed for her thyroid. They never notified me before stopping this medication which was very concerning to me. Keep a close eye on your loved ones and what changes they are making. The first time someone in the facility was COVID I was not notified.

Beginning with covid-19 the office stuff is handling it great. At this time the atmosphere among the resident is understandable because of the restrictions to rooms but they are willing to abide by the ruling. I do suggest more in-depth with new residents moving in. Staff should pay more attention to dress code.
