Sonida Senior Living

This is a nice community. I have a nice apartment and it is quiet. The meals are not what i expected. The staff are friendly and they have been good. The maintenance staff have been good also. They don't really have many activities that I am interested in at this community. They do have nurse on staff at this community. The tour was good and the tour guide did a really good job.

My wife (88) and I (85) moved into the Waterford in March 2021. We decided that it would be wise for us to move when we were “both able.” We looked at several places in the Madison area that supported independent and assisted living. The Waterford was familiar to us because it was right next door to our condo building and we had friends who lived there in the past. We we liked the neighborhood and the handy location in metro Madison. We also liked that independent living and assisted living services would be available if (when) either of us might need them. So far we have not needed any of the assisted living services that are available. We have no regrets about our move. We think it was wise to move before we had. We love our new neighbors and the community here at The Waterford. We have appreciated the friendliness of the staff, too. We give The Waterford a four star rating because it isn’t perfect. But it has been a wonderful place for us at this time of our lives.

The Waterford at Ironbridge was nice enough. It just wasn't the right fit for my loved one. It didn’t have the same good feeling as the place we chose.

We chose Benton House of Florence because it was a new facility and most of the residents were new so there we no cliques that had formed yet. My dad also liked the room sizes and the fact that he would have a full sized refrigerator. The staff are all friendly and courteous and they are very easy to work and get along with. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

Good community with very engaging residents. The location was not close walking distance to shopping centers.

This met our needs for my loved one. There were opportunities for better resident engagement. They had the same activities offered for the residents each day. I think the community could use more common areas to be able to socialize with other residents. There was a lot of repetitive food offered to the residents especially with desserts, and side dishes. The staff seemed very nice. The front desk person seemed more introverted; however, he was nice to work with. It would be nice to have the community have a better transition team for the new residents. This would include walking the residents through the community and where and how to sign up for transportation and more.

The staff are great and very friendly, they really want to know the family as well as the resident and it is a great feeling. This is a great place and the staff know everyone, they know where the residents are at all times also which is amazing to me. They have activities like baking, painting, piano playing in the afternoon, they have a lot of resident involvement and they go and get the residents from their rooms and bring them to the activities.

I have nothing bad to say about being here. of course there is always room for improvement.

Our experience has been outstanding. It is what we expected if not better. They did a good job at setting expectations. The community was recently updated'; however, they have a bit to go. The location is extraordinary. It is a good value for your money. The staff are great to work with if we have questions or concerns. The food hasn't been as good as the first time for my loved one. There are times that there are substitutions for fresh vegetables, and it is subbed for canned veggies. It would be nice to see more fresh produce. On most days there are exercise classes offered. They have church services later in the afternoon, and this can be hard to get used to. They have a library and bingo night they offer. There are card games and several game nights for the residents to choose from. They have had a musician come in to perform or karaoke for the residents to participate in.

This is a good place, and they have things for the residents to do. The community is good, safe, and the staff are there if my loved one needs them. Laundry, linen changes, housekeeping, the room, and utilities are included in the monthly fee. There are extra charges for medical care support. The community is able to assist with medication management for my loved one. My loved one doesn't find the meals spectacular. It would be nice to see meals available that my loved one would enjoy eating. The dining room just recently opened up.

The community was good, and felt dark. My loved one wanted a more lively community.

This community was wonderful we were so glad to be looking at such a good community there was just a feeling at another community that worked better for my loved one.

The activities get a 5 plus, they have so many different things going on. They have a bunch of different board games, there is a bridge club. There is dancing in the hallways, ice cream socials and birthday celebration's. They take them on different outings to the dollar stores and grocery stores. They have chair aerobics. PT, OT and speech onsite if needed. It is cheaper the most placed we looked into, but they have our loved one on the lowest level of care but at the same time she is not receiving what that level of care offers. So if she was getting what she was paying for the value would be much better.

I would recommend this community for you or your loved one. They have activities like parties, crafts, a few outings, music comes in to play for the residents and more for them to do to have a good time and stay active in the community.

We are very happy here. The staff are very friendly, and the community is in a good location. We would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. All meals are included in the monthly fee. They also have laundry service and housekeeping available.. There is a washer and dryer in the unit or you also have them in the building to use. The food is pretty good. Speakers, musical programs, field trips, games, cocktail hour, monthly celebrations, and more are some of the activities for the residents to choose from. They have transportation for the residents to use for doctor appointments.

We do think our loved one is happy there, we like the smaller scale of the community and the staff have been super friendly. She seems to enjoy the meals every time we speak with her and they offer good activities. They have different varieties of apartment sizes which is great and based on our experience so far with The Residence of Chardon community we would recommend them to others

This is a very friendly community. They are very willing to help at this community when asked and I am very satisfied with the services that we are receiving for my loved one. The staff seem to be well versed in what they do and they do it well. I have seen activities like bingo and crafts and more for the residents to do to stay busy in the community.

This community was good but too far away for my loved one. Also they did not do transport to doctors and that is why we had to decline this community.

Our family had an in person tour and the facility itself was very nice and the lady who took us on the tour was very informative and helpful. However if we remember correctly the memory care unit was separate from the rest and we knew if our loved one had to move to that side we would want them to still be in a stimulating environment.

Our family had an in person tour and it was just a little to expensive for us and they only served one meal a day.
